I really liked the premise, but parts of this book were just excessively descriptive in ways that made no cohesive sense to the story. Annette is one of the most twisted, manipulative women I have ever read about in a book. There is so much deceit and manipulation that parts of it just really bothered me. They just seemed unrealistic. The men in the book were really weak and dumb for the most part and this was irritating as well. This book was just ok for me and just seemed a bit farfetched. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley.

An entertaining debut. Character driven book. Always fun to read a new entertaining author. Good stuff.

On the whole, this was an enjoyable story that was both well written and enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the characters and the plot. The only problem I had with the book itself was the dialogue. It was simply confusing, and I found myself having to go back and reread parts of the dialogue to make sure I was understanding exactly what was going on. Aside from that I truly enjoyed the premise of the plot and the execution

Just too much back and forth conversations with the characters I couldn't get into it. definitely not for me. It was just boring.

The Blow-Up Man by author Nina Blakeman is a fast paced story with some awesome characters, but could use some different dialogues.. For the most part it was great, intense and awesome story line..

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

I wanted to enjoy this book so badly.
While the characters were interesting and the book was very fast paced.
I was taken out of the story. A lot of the conversation in the book was set up to give back ground or other information and it really comes off as unnatural and unrealistic. This one was just not my cup of tea.

Whoa! This book was 50 shades of crazy—lots of baddies in this book and lots of mayhem. Annette's characterization along with Emma's witchcraft angle was a bit of a stretch. The excessive medical jargon throughout was a distraction and took away from the tone of many scenes. It's hard to build suspense with all those technical terms used during conversations. The ending was a surprise and maybe a bit too ambiguous but it was still worth the read.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Nina Blakeman for an ARC of 'The Blow-up Man' in exchange for an honest review.

Great read. The author wrote a story that was interesting and moved at a pace that kept me engaged. The characters were easy to invest in.
