Navy Seal Jake Hendrix is pleasantly surprised when he comes across his squad mate's sister Hanna Masterson. He simply can't believe that she looks even better now than before. Of course, his protective seal instincts jump in when he hears some no good men speaking about her at an auction and he races to protect her. After a night of passion with Jake, Hanna finds herself pregnant. But before she can tell him, a client at her job ends up murdered and now his murderers are coming after her. Jake has no choice but to protect her, can they stop from falling in love though?

Truthfully, I wasn't a big fan. The characters were pretty shallow and had problems that could simply be fleshed out with a simple discussion. It seemed like it had so much potential in the opening but any excitement fizzed out. Hanna was a highly frustrating character and as a reader, I simply could not connect with her. It took a lot for me to finish it.

Well this was a complete and utter letdown.
I expected so much more when I read the blurb, but nothing exciting happened and the whole issue was resolved way too easily.
I'm also not a big fan of the whole insta-love trope and it was very present here. Both main characters were utterly childish and couldn't seem to make up their mind.
I've read worse, but it of a waste of my time this one!

This book was really good. I really enjoyed Hanna and Jake and their story and the suspense was really good too. Great read.

This was a cute hot romance everything you expect in a romance and the cover is hot as well. I would recommend to anyone who likes romance

The plot was great but the characters didn't really click for me. I still liked the story, but I would have liked more of a connection, or at least for the characters (especially the heroine) to be a little more sympathetic.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

First just let me say that I had a hard time rating this book. The plot was great but I didn't care for the characters at least not Hanna Masterson. She is a therapist for goodness sake a professional but she acted so childishly. She questioned every move and/or suggestion that Jake mentioned. Jake Hendrix is a SEAL for crying out loud. He is trained for situations like this. Another pet peeve of mine, unprotected sex. Hanna mentioned it was "ok" that Jake didn't have a condom and she wanted him to come inside of her. Say what?! There was no mention of her being on the pill. Now I know that isn't 100% effective but there was no mention of skipped pills or a cold nothing. Third pet peeve, Hanna uses her phone even though Jake tells her not to. Seriously she is running for her life and that of her unborn baby but she wants to check her messages but sees notifications on her dating app so she goes in and changes her relationship status. SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Fourth pet peeve, apparently Hanna doesn't tell her brother about her pregnancy but he told Jake about her having an ultrasound. Huh?! Finally she keeps trying to change Jake but any professional therapist should be able to tell you that you CAN'T change a person.

This book could have been so much better.

I received a copy of this book from Net Galley for an honest review.

I did not finish this book. It is one of my biggest pet peeves when authors extinguish the sexual chemistry too early in a romance. Once the chemistry had been effective smashed, the other plot aspects were not able to maintain my interest.

It had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it really just didn't meet my expectations.

The story begins with Jake a Navy Seal going to a charity auction for a friend. While there he sees a woman he has not seen in ages and she happens to be up on the stage being one of the females auctioned for a date. While overhearing a group of young guys talking about her in a way in did not like he ends up bidding and winning. Hanna figures the best way to change the way her dating life has been going is to kick start it by having a guy bid on her and go on a romantic date. Instead, when she walks down the stairs she finds that the person that won is Jake one of her brothers Seal brothers. Also, someone, she has known for years and had a crush on. Now left with a guy that wants nothing to do with her or any type of a future. They end up buying some wine and end up looking out at the stars spending the night together, in more ways than one. The next day when he later decides that he wants to spend more time with her, he finds out that she is going to China for a conference. Now mind you he is still on vacation and can go with her but does not. Yet when she returns and people are after her and she tells him about being pregnant. He wants to protect her and yet he wants someone else to do it also. She, on the other hand, remembers what he says about he can’t have a family because he is a Seal so they can’t be together. Yet after saying that and leaving her with someone else he goes back to her but says we can’t be together. Confused much? What guy with their woman that is pregnant is not going to want to protect her? Especially a Seal. To me Jake was the one that was playing head games with her coming from a male side of things. Maybe I come from a different generation? Was just expecting a little more.

I was thrilled at how well this story flows. The characters are not only well thought out but engaging and downright likeable/loveable, while the main characters carry the story there are supporting characters that do a great deal to enhance the story as well. Loved every bit of this book. Happy reading!!

This book made me fall back in love with Romance books again. Any book-lover will tell you that one of the best feelings around is opening a book, reading the first line, and knowing immediately that you're going to get lost in it. Cancel your plans, stay-home-reading kind of books are pretty hard to come by when you think about it but this book did that for me. I will be on the look out for more books from this author. I loved every bit of it.

I guess this is one way for a one night stand to turn out.
What would you do in this situation? I personally have no idea how I would react to all of this.

I was so excited to read this book but I couldn't even make it past the first two chapters before I gave up. The writing style was awful and in third person. Complete DNF for me.

I received a free ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.

One other time I read this author with it having a Seal that caught my attention. Jake and Hanna entertain you in this one with it starting out with Jake thinking one thing but boy was he wrong. Since this has a mix of elements along with the hot chemistry we are given suspense also. These are the kinds that keep me turning the pages. Sometimes though I wanted to push Jake along but some elements pull you forward also. This is a full story that does not skimp giving you everything you look for in a good riveting read. It also reminded me that the other one I had read by her also was a factor why I knew I would like this one.

3.5 stars--COMING TO HER RESCUE by Katie Knight is another instalment in the author’s series focusing on the US Navy SEALs. This is Navy SEAL Jake Hendrix, and therapist Hanna Masterson’s story line. All of Katie’s SEAL stories can be read as stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person perspective (Jake and Hanna) COMING TO HER RESCUE follows the best friend’s little sister relationship between Navy SEAL Jake Hendrix, and therapist Hanna Masterson. Jake was invited to a bachelorette auction but was shocked when one of the contestants was his fellow SEAL’s little sister Hanna Masterson. Overhearing the rude and sexually explicit comments from the other bachelors in the audience Jake makes the winning bid to protect Hanna from the a potential disaster but Hanna isn’t impressed when she discovers Jake is the winning bid. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Jake and Hanna, and the potential fall-out as Hanna is targeted for who she is, and who she knows.

Hanna Masterson is twenty six years old and believes she will find her soul-mate at the charity bachelorette auction but what she never anticipated was her life-long crush, a man who rejected her years before. Hanna made a list of attributes for a potential mate but Jake didn’t check all of the boxes including family and future stability. Jake Hendrix doesn’t do relationships: constantly on duty and ready to go at a moments notice, Jake isn’t willing to force any partner to deal with the emotional ramifications of going it –alone.

The relationship between Jake and Hanna is one of immediate attraction but Jake’s rejection of Hanna years earlier still hurts, a hurt Hanna struggles to forget. But one night together results in an unplanned pregnancy, and Jake finds himself protector of the woman with whom he will fall in love, and the child she now carries. When threats against Hanna become violent and physical, Jake calls in help from people he knows.

COMING TO HER RESCUE is a story of family, heart break, betrayal and control. The premise is engaging; the characters are energetic; the romance struggles in the face of indecision, and the back and forth emotional upheaval of want, need, independence and control. The conflict resolution was a little too clean and neat- I was hoping for something more.

I was excited when I read the blurb of the story it truly intrigued me. But even though the storyline was a great concept The way it was written did not appeal to me. I say that because a lot of things were repetitive in written form and in concept. In addition as a reader it felt like just words were added to fill the pages. In addition, Jake is a Navy SEAL and some of the way that he was portrayed didn't allow me to feel as though he was a tough Navy SEAL and the problem with the heroin is that I would think because her brother is also in the military that she would trust wholeheartedly and their abilities. She was just therapist so I would have thought she would have been smart enough do not question too much. Unfortunately this story did not work for me. If it were edited better and possibly added on to the story then it would be more complete, but as is it appears as a pretty rough draft.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. This was a nice read and the characters were relatable. Jake is a hardened SEAL that feels he will not be good in any relationship but Hannah just may change his mind on that.
Read on for more adventures with a few road blocks along the way.
