OFF THE MARKET is the second story in The Texas BBQ Brothers series, part of the connecting set of series that make up Last Stand, Texas. It “could” be read as a standalone, but then you’d miss getting to know all of these characters from the beginning – and besides, ON THE MARKET is one heck of a good story you shouldn’t miss. In my opinion.

Quinn and Cole have known each other in a way since high school but their friendship is mostly on the surface, friendly nods and such. That is until Cole is sent by his brother to do some giveaways at an event Quinn is giving for the children’s summer reading program at the library where she is in charge of special programming. A job that many in the town don’t think is really necessary. It’s up to Quinn to prove them wrong, but that’s not going according to plan at all. When this first gathering starts going sideways Cole steps in to save the day – and they each begin to look at each other a bit differently. Plus, it doesn’t hurt when his brother and his girlfriend begin to play matchmaker for Cole and Quinn either.

I enjoyed watching this couple work their way to each other through misunderstandings, the actions of others, and maybe a bit of stubbornness as well. Their romance starts off as a slow burn and gains speed as their attraction grown, and they acknowledge their feelings. I fell in love with CC, the library cat and enjoyed catching up with old friends from the first book. If you love a good romance between unlikely people, a small town that plays a strong part in the story, and a couple to like and hope for their happy ending – then you’ll want to pick up OFF THE MARKET. I had fun, and I believe you will, too.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I thought that the story was good and the plot was well developed

It was a nice and pleasant read but I did feel that there was quite a bit if detail in the book that wasn't really needed, it affected the lovely flow of the story and I felt that was really a shame as it distracted from the ongoing story - sadly it wasn't a story that really blew me away.

It is 3 stars from me for this one, an enjoyable read and I love that cover - it really suits the story!

Another awesome read by Audrey Wick! This is Cole and Quinn’s story. It is all about learning to trust and falling in love. Who knew that barbecue god could also have a love for books, or is he in love with the special project librarian? A simple coupon delivery turned into a situation of being an impromptu fact giver/entertainer, save the day act! Read on and find out how this ends!

Off The Market by Audrey Wicks is Book 2 in The Texas BBQ Brothers Series. This story centers around Cole, the newly famous BBQ Master and Quinn, the local librarian. The relationship between Cole and Quinn was a slow burn. They have known each other since school but never moved in the same circles. However now, fate (and friends) keep throwing them together and they are realizing that they compliment each other perfectly. They are both good honest hardworking people but it’s the little things they learn from each other that make them start to realize feelings are growing. Quinn helps Cole realize he likes to read more than he realized and Cole helps Quinn get out and have some fun. Plus they each take care of people in their own way...food and books.
I liked these characters very much. They were relatable and just normal people. There is no billionaire alpha or hard as nails heroine-which I do love-but sometimes reading about people who fit into my regular life is so enjoyable.
There is some small town government drama involving Quinn’s job that fit well into the story without being too angsty but also helps push Cole and Quinn’s story forward.
This is a sweet contemporary romance, more focused on the romance aspect. There are no steamy scenes, although you can feel the passion between them, which is fine with me since the slow burn romance factor was there.
Even though this book can be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend reading On the Market first because it’s an enjoyable read too.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from #netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

I really enjoyed the first of the Texas BBQ Brothers books, so I couldn’t wait to get this one in my hands. Cole and Quinn’s story is really special. They are total opposites who are thrown together by unusual circumstances. Cole is one of the owners of the popular BBQ joint in Last Stand called The Hut. Quinn works in the library as the director of special events. When Quinn’s first summer reading event takes a turn for the worse, Cole, who stopped by to pass out free meal coupons to the kids, takes over for the original guest speaker by telling funny jokes to the children. I think I fell for Cole at that moment. In the first book, he seemed to be all about business and not much else. So, this was a fun and sweet side to see.

The relationship between Cole and Quinn took some time to develop. Even though they knew each other in school, they weren’t friends back then. So, when they did become friends, they stay just friends for quite a while. But once their relationship changed to romantic, there was no holding back. Then, there was this one hiccup that almost ruined it all. I enjoyed seeing how they worked through it to find their happily ever after.

The author created characters that seemed so real, I could almost picture them living and working in my town. Her story telling had me flipping the pages through to the end and it was hard to close the book at the end. I liked these characters that much. There is also a cute library cat who was a fun addition to the story. Even though this book can be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend reading On the Market first so you get to know the characters form the start.

Requested this title on Friday and it was approved over the weekend and then it archived before I had a chance to download when I checked on Monday so I won't be able to read and review.

Really cute book. I really enjoyed the characters and plot. A BBQ boss and librarian. I also love the Texas theme in this series. Definitely a must if you love cute and short romances.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great read! I am really enjoying the Last Time stand series from Tule Publishing. This is my second book. I am really liking the Texas theme. This is an opposites attract love story which is such a fun theme between the librarian and the BBQ owner and cover model. I enjoyed the small details in this book especially CC. It was an easy, fun read with the perfect amount of romance. I would highly recommend this book. I didn't read the first story with Hutch but I am adding to my list!

Loved this sweet, romantic story about small town life. The author truly captured the real lives of those who own their own business, those that serve in government and have the power to manipulate the lives of others, but mostly those who serve people by working in libraries... they are unsung heroines!

Off the Market, the second book of the Texas BBQ Brothers series by Audrey Wick, is an invitation to sit back, relax, and enjoy the romance that grows between Cole and Quinn in the conclusion to this series. The characters have vivid personalities, that are relatable, as well as entertaining. The plot drives the story at a rapid pace, keeping the pages turning just waiting for a comeuppance for one particularly annoying characters. All in all, the author has done a fine job of tying up all the threads of the series to end it in a most satisfying way.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review b

This was a sweet brief romance between a BBQ boss and a librarian who’d known each other since grade school and reunited later in life. It was short and sweet and a fun quick read. Out of all the books I’ve read by different authors under this publisher in this same small town setting this one was a little less all together in relation to character depth and overcoming problems but it was still a short, sweet fun read and a nice “fluffy” read completely fitting for needing a quick uplifting read to read in one sitting.

Cole and his brother are now owners of the family BBQ House called The Hut. Valerie and Hutch are dating and Valerie's best friend is Quinn. Cole and Quinn sometimes double date with Hutch and Valerie. It seems that Hutch, Cole and Quinn knew each other growing up but she moved away and now has come back and taken a position at the local library.

Hutch and Cole have their picture taken and are on the cover of a magazine so the restaurant is getting busy. This is a cute romance that will have you on the edge of your seat. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Finished the whole book in one evening. I think you will enjoy it. A must read.

This was a sweet quick read...I sometimes wished I’d read the first book in the series, as sometimes I found it hard to relate, but overall a nice wee read to pass a rainy day

I was given the opportunity to read Audrey Wick’s Off the Market early, and I thought I would share my opinion.

This book is a Hallmark movie waiting to be adapted. It’s sweet and innocent, with just a dash of steam. It’s full of small town drama and charming local businesses. It was refreshing to read a book where the main drama is small town politics. It’s dramatic without being overly so.

The main characters are endearing, but sometimes a little too sugary sweet for my personal taste.

Still, this book is a light, easy read. Perfect to read on vacation. If you are a fan of Hallmark rom-coms, you’ll thoroughly enjoy Off the Market by Audrey Wick.

I wished I read book one in this series. I felt a little lost. Quinn and Cole. were ok, but I felt like it was missing something.

They were at school together, but complete opposites. Now her best friend and his brother are trying to set them up.

An entertaining read

This was a sweet read about romance, politics, and BBQ in a small town. I enjoyed the look at the concerns of two brothers trying to make a go of their family BBQ restaurant and the ideas they come up to add to the bottom line. When one idea takes the younger brother, Cole over to the library and he’s able to help the programs director there, Quinn, rescue a summer reading program from disaster, the romance enters the plot. Quinn is facing the animosity from the city manager for her position at the library. Cole wants to help preserve her job and so we get a little peek into what drives small-town politics in this little Texas town.

This was a quick read but the characters were likable and you’ll be pulling for both of them.

This second in series of the brothers who run a BBQ spot in Last Stand Texas was a cute and quick read. We met both Quinn and Cole in the first book and it was great that Hutch and Valerie played a big role in the second for storyline continuity. Because this was such a quick read I wish we'd gotten more insight into just what the tension may have been between Cole and Quinn going back to high school - I sensed there was something but I am not sure. Also, what was Mitch's role with the social media poster trying to make Quinn looked bad - I assumed it was Mitch but I am not sure. But a few loose ends like that did not take away from a sweet love story and I really enjoyed the injections of humor into the story - like "Dinosaur Cole."
