Melanie Summers did an amazing job with this book. With relatable characters, splendid writing style and plot, I sincerely enjoyed reading this book. I found myself laughing and also sympathizing with the characters at different points in this book. Beautiful book.

This book was such a delight! I loved the characters, the writing and it was so funny! I couldn't put it down and ended up finishing it in one sitting. It was the perfect follow up to the Honneymooner.

Whisked Away is the second book in Melanie Summers trilogy, A Paradise Bay Romantic Comedy. I received this ARC from Netgalley, which I initially requested purely based on the cover and description. But was not disappointed, it was so cute!

Pierce Davenport wrote one of the biggest fantasy series of all time ... well almost. He finished the first 3 books, and has taken the last two years writing the fourth and he has gotten no where. Under extreme deadlines from his publishers, editors and a TV Network, Pierce heads to Eden Island, the new private island at Paradise Bay to finish (actually start) the fourth novel in the Clash of Crowns series.

Emma has just finished with culinary school and is full of ambition as she heads home to the Benavente Islands and back to her family. She cannot wait to see which one of the six restaurants at Paradise Bay her brother Harrison is going to hand over to her to run. Emma is also excited that she can finally contribute to help the family business. When she arrives home, Emma is quickly disappointed. Not only does she come home to no welcome home party but also to be told she will not be running a kitchen, but is going to be the private chef on Eden Island.

Pierce is the first guest, a VIP, on the island and there is a lot of pressure to make sure his stay is perfect. Emma must set aside what she feels she is able to do in a five star restaurant, and instead live on a houseboat and cook for one. But one thing leads to another and Pierce is left needing Emma to help him like he has never needed anyone else before ... and not only for work. But Emma is known to run from things when they get hard.

Will Pierce finish the Clash of the Crowns series in time? Will Emma stay at Paradise Bay and help her family? Or will she run after not getting the job she feels she is entitled to? Will both of them be able to come to a truce and help each other?

“I’m not a runner. I did run, but only because I was forced to choose between two things to run from. So it shouldn’t count because I ran from the thing I wanted in order to stay where I’m needed.”

I really enjoyed reading Whisked Away all about Emma and Pierce. I loved their story and banter, and how they each provided exactly what they other needed (even though they didn’t know it). I found myself wishing that the Clash of Crowns was a real series, it was almost like another character throughout the book! If you missed my review of The Honeymooner, see my previous post, or goodreads. I cannot wait to dive into the 3rd to finish out this trilogy.

Whisked Away is the second book in the Paradise Bay series by Melanie Summers. I did not read the first book in the series and think they can each stand on their own.

At twenty-seven years old, Emma Banks has big plans for her life. After graduating from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, she's ready to take her place as head chef at one of her family’s resort restaurants. But upon arrival at Paradise Bay, she’s shuffled off to the resort’s new private island getaway, where she’ll be stuck catering to the rich and shameless. Her first assignment is to serve Pierce Davenport, an infuriatingly arrogant writer with a palate that’s about as adventurous as a plain boiled potato.Pierce Davenport is living every author’s dream—his critically-acclaimed Clash of Crowns books have been turned into one of the world’s most-watched television series. The only problem is, he has no idea how to end the epic fantasy tale. After two long years, his fans are turning on him, his publisher is panicking, and the network executives have announced they’re hiring a team of scriptwriters to finish (a.k.a. ruin) his legacy for him.In dire need of solitude, he escapes to the Island of Eden for two distraction-free months so he can pull off the impossible—write an entire novel from start to finish. All he wants is peace and quiet, but when disaster strikes, he’s forced to rely on irritating-but-beautiful Emma to deliver more than just three meals a day. Putting Pierce and Emma together is like combining orange juice and toothpaste. Will their differences be their ruin or will they be the secret ingredient to each other’s success?

Whisked Away is a romance that I loved the humor of. The awkwardness, self awareness, and occasional klutziness were my favorite moments of the book. Emma wants to be a head chef, but she wants to earn it. Pierce is an author that has a hard time with the right words in real life- even though he gets it right on paper. he coming together of our couple is well done, and I thought their conflicts were well chosen. I did start to lose interest waiting for the couple to find their way to a happy ending, but there were some really good interactions along the way. I liked the characters, I greatly enjoyed some of the banter and family drama/helping. I liked some of the secondary characters and the settings. I did think that the vague pop culture references- with some changes- were a little over done and result in the story not aging well. Granted some of the references were slight enough that something resent will fit the bill, but I just thought there was too much of it. However, I never really got lost in the book or over eager to read the previous or next book. It was good, an enjoyable weekend read, but it was not a stand out for me.

Whisked Away is a contemporary romance with a nice blend of humor and moments that make you want to kick the characters. I am glad I read it.

When i first saw the book i thought it will be fun to read and never cross my mind if it's a sequel to previous book as it's stated Paradise Bay. Anyway this review is solely rate based on the storyline and i know nothing about previous book.
It's the first book from Melanie Summers and it does leave a good impression on her writing. It has the rom com vibe and the story is fun to read. I like the character, the story setting and how they make the dialogue fun to read. The author put up 2 different background character, a chef and an author and make the relationship grow. Overall, i enjoy the story.

Thanks to Xpresso Book Tours through NetGalley for the ARC of this work, in exchange for an honest review.

Whisked Away is the perfect getaway from reality! Melanie Summers has done it again with the second book in the Paradise Bay series. Such lively, personable characters that'll have you laughing through tears. This is Emma's story (you meet her in the first book): she's strong-willed, feisty and have a passion for cooking. I, however, love Pierce! Even though they're both opposites, you can't deny the attraction that comes through the pages. A wonderful story that was over too soon!

Honestly, I preferred the first book in this series - though I still really liked this one. I just found Emma a bit young and selfish at times...which to be fair, felt very realistic...plus, no one is perfect. I really liked her dynamic with Pierce and his grumpy appearances in the beginning. I liked how everything came together at the end and will definitely read the third in this series! I've been recommending this series to friends when they're going away on tropical vacations and so far everyone has loved it :)

Loved the second installment of Paradise Bay. Emma is so spunky and knows what she wants and won't let anyone get in her way. Enters Pierce, who is so rich and entitled that he isn't use to someone not overcome by his charm. These two find themselves so drawn to one another and need another more than they even know.

I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down! Yes, some parts were predictable, but you knew it would be going in. Lots of good laughs, just the right amount of sex appeal, and the perfect length.

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as I enjoyed the first book in the series, The Honeymooners. I enjoyed and liked Emma's character (and her interaactions with Pierce), but I missed the chemistry between Libby and Harrison. However, I will definitely be checking out the 3rd book in the series when that becomes available.

Summers' writing is cute and charming and this book was perfect for a pool side read! I will admit that I didn't like it as much as the first book in the series because I didn't find Pierce anywhere near as charming as Harrison. However, I loved hearing more about Emma! I love the dual perspective chapters, I feel it adds a great dimension to the story.

This is my first book of Melanie Summers. I enjoyed it, I do. Plot was fun and the what if the most watched series was written by a young man instead of an old one. Hahaha. It’s just sometimes really, Emma was darn annoying. I wanted to shake her at least thrice. Insecure, a but misguided, stubborn, slight pushover.... I mean really. Despite her upbringing, she was like that. Grrrr. Other than her, the story was a good read.

It’s the 2nd book already this one, of a series. Looking forward to Leo’s book. Not sure if I want to go back to Harrison’s.

Thank you Indigo Group for the arc!

Whisked away is a fun cute spirited read! I felt a little behind as I was reading as this was book number two but I was able to get over it rather quickly. I am looking forward to reading book 1 and 3 in the series as this was really enjoyable.

4.5 stars

This book blew me away with how enjoyable it was! I loved the story, I loved the individual characters, I loved the writing, and I loved the humour. All of those elements combined and created a novel that was way more than I expected.

As for the story, all I can say is this: think of a cynical polar opposite younger-hotter-dreamier-steamier George R. R. Martin who has isolated himself since rising to fame. This author then falls into a romance when escaping to a private island to finish writing the last instalment of his bestselling series. That is a simple description to a story that was more than incredible.

I found myself unable to put this book down. Whether it be because of the characters, the writing, the tension, or the chemistry--I'm not sure, everything was done perfectly. It was an amazing read that had me laughing in some instances and throwing my hands up in frustration the next.

If you like the writing styles of Sophie Kinsella, Sally Thorne, or Helen Hoang...check this novel out! I think readers who love those authors may be pleasantly surprised with this novel as well. It was a hit that caught me fully off guard and I know that whether it be in this series or not, I will be checking out more from this author.

Whisked Away by Melanie Summers is the second book in Paradise Bay series and one of the best rom coms that I have ever read.

I loved this book.
I loved the characters, I loved the setting, I love the dialogue, the funny scenes, I loved absolutely everything about it.
There are so many scenes where I have actually laughed out loud, it was so funny,
The dialogue is refreshing, intelligent and believable.
Main characters made such an impression on me and I really and truly fell in love with them, they will stay with me for a long, long time.

Main protagonist Emma Banks has just graduated from CIA and is going back home to start running one of her family's restaurants on a beautiful Paradise Bay. She dreams of being a chef and is already creating signature dishes.
However, her family needs her help with a very special assignment. She is to cater to a world famous writer Pierce Davenport, who needs to finish his long awaited and much loved book series.
Unfortunately, Pierce is in a writer's slump, he hasn't written a word in years and everyone is breathing down his beck. So he needs to write really really fast or else.

But life and love get in a way and the author has created a absorbing and charming love story which stands from the others of its genre.

A absolute must read!

Whisked Away by Melanie Summers is the 2nd book in the Paradise Bay series, and a great book. Emma Banks just graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, and she's ready to work at one of her family's resort restaurants. Her first job is to go to a private island and cook for an arrogant writer, Pierce Davenport. Emma and Pierce don't exactly get along.  I found this book to be a quick read and a lot of fun. I am looking forward to reading more books in the series. I highly recommend this book.

I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you. (less)
