This was such a cute book! This was the first book I've read from this author and I really enjoyed it. The story was different from anything I've read recently and really captured my attention. It was so well written and the characters were fantastic.

Melanie Summers does a fantastic job telling interesting stories with humor, love, and a ton of irritation, which sometimes is just what is neeeded. I throughly enjoyed the first book in this new series, but you don't have to have read that story to be fully drawn into Pierce and Emma's story. Emma is searching for who she is after culinary school and Pierce is trying to end his long running, billion dollar fantasy series. With quite a few rocky starts they eventually come up with a plan to help each other. I love the setting for this book. A remote island with all the luxury of a high end resort but with the isolation of a mountain. I definitely reccomend this series to any romance lovers or fans of Melanie Summers.

What a cute book. This one was funny and filled with love and food. Yes food. It was a fast paced book but so worth reading. I really enjoyed this book a lot and will definitely be reading more from this author.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun and fast-moving read. When requested, I didn’t realize it was the second in a series but it stands alone and focuses on other characters. Makes me want to read the others. The characters were well flushed out and enjoyable.

Thank you Netgalley and Xpresso Book Tours for sending me a digital arc of this book.
I always love a book that makes me up all night. I was up until 5 am last night finishing this one. Twenty seven years old, Emma Banks recently graduated from culinary schools and can't wait to be the head chef in one of their family resort restaurants where she can experiment with her cooking as she likes and build her dream career. However, upon her arrival to Paradise Bay, her brother sends her off to their new resort in a private island where she has to work alone in a small boat house kitchen with three tiny burners and duct taped cabinets. That's not even the worst part of it. The worst part is she has to serve the arrogant, insufferable, ridiculously handsome rich brat Pierce Davenport who seems to be rude to her right from the beginning. Pierce Davenport is one of the most prestigious author of the time.. His books Clash of Crowns has been adapted to world's most watched tv show and now he is on a deadline to finish the final installment of his grand fantasy series. The only problem is he has no idea how to finish his series However, once he moves to the paradise bay, inspiration strikes. but due to an unexpected disaster, he needs the help of the gorgeous chef, Emma, to finish his novel on time even though he can't seem to think of anything else other than her when she is around.
This is such a fantastic and wonderful book. Melanie Summers did such a great job with balancing comedy with romance. It made me giggle and laugh so many times. I adore each and every character in this book. I liked Pierce's pov a little more than Emma's just because he was funnier and it was hilarious seeing him deal with real emotions. Emma and Pierce has such a great chemistry and made me swoon so much. Pierce high on pain killers is my favorite version of him. The ending scene was so cute! I am literally squealing while typing this review.
This book is the perfect summer read for all the romcom lovers out there. I highly would recommend this book to everyone. I also looked at the other books in this series and am so excited to read them.

I loved Whisked Away! I plan to go back and read the first in the series and then I can't wait for #3 too! It was a fun, romantic comedy. I really enjoyed the characters and their shenanigans. Looking forward to reading more of her books!

What a delightful book! Emma Banks has just finished culinary school and is going back to her family’s resort on a fictional Caribbean island (it looks suspiciously like Maui, but backwards). She is hoping to run one of the resorts several restaurants, but is enlisted by her older brother Harrison to be the private chef for the resorts exclusive house called Eden. The first guest for their soft open is Pierce Davenport from an imaginary country Avonia within Great Britain. Pierce is an author who has written a wildly popular fantasy series that is airing on NBO. It has been two years since the last book and his fans are clamoring for the next book and the executives at NBO are threatening to bring in writers to finish the series if he doesn’t. He decides to seclude himself at Eden to finish the book. Of course, Emma and Pierce initially clash until an unfortunate encounter with a hungry iguana. I loved the banter between the two, and actually laughed out loud several times. If you want a zany RomCom, this will fit the bill. I am looking forward to Pierce’s derelict brother Leo’s story. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Whisked Away follows Emma (a recent culinary school graduate) and Pierce (a writer, basically George RR Martin, except younger and hot) as they interact and fall in love in a tropical resort setting. Emma starts out the book as the personal chef for Pierce at her family's resort, but ends up becoming his typist after he's injured and can no longer type his last novel in his almost identically Game of Thrones-like series (despite a looming deadline). Each chapter is told from either Emma or Pierce's perspective. The story was extremely predictable and followed all the basic romantic/chick-lit tropes, and was nothing too original, but it was a breezy, entertaining read that I finished very quickly. Definitely a good read for your beachy vacation.

A big thank you to Indigo (and Xpresso Book Tours) for the ARC of this work, in exchange for an honest review.
If you like easygoing romances with characters you instantly recognise, Summer's book is for you! We have the whole cast here: rich, arrogant leading man and the beautiful and snarky leading lady. Set on a resort on a Caribbean island, young, talented chef Emma Banks are cooking for the hottest, young author out there, Pierce Davenport. Sparks fly, an accidental injury and an offer neither of them can refuse in the moment!
I did enjoy the summer-y vibe and the culinary part of the story, something I wish would have been given more room in the story than the actual love story which was very non-interesting. It's something I've read before and surely theres must be ways of reimagine this genre? But like previously stated, if you are a reader who enjoy instaromance and stock characters this book is a work you'd enjoy, I'm sure.
I did like that even though this was the second book in a series it was easy to follow (I've gathered that Libby and Harrison were the main characters in the first book), but the way this book was written l, it could've easily been a stand alone book (that is to say not part of a series).

absolutely fab book.
really enjoyed reading this. cannot wait for more by this author.
this has been the perfect escape on a quiet afternoon. i higly recommend this book.

This is the first book I have read by Melanie Summers, the second in the series, but didn't have a problem following the story. I loved the characters and the story was intriguing. A good solid romantic comedy that had me smiling throughout. I will definitely be reading more by this author. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

Particularly that wasn't for me. While I enjoyed the writing itself, the characters felt very shallow and quite one-dimensional, everything was rushed and was just impossible to get into the plot and romance when I didn't even like these characters.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Really enjoyed this funny, quirky romance. The heroine is a fiesty chef determined to making a mark in the culinary world only to be stuck making and serving food to a stuck up writer. The hero is pressed to write the next novel but can't help but feel an attraction towards katie who challenges and cares for him when he gets bit by an iguana. I loved their humorous comebacks. They seemed perfect for each other.

This was my first read by Melanie Summers and it was quite a fun read! I really enjoyed Emma and Pierce's story chuckling along at times. Even knowing that they would end up together I found myself quite stressed when they were apart! I quite enjoyed this read and look forward to reading more from Melanie Summer!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me an arc of this book for an honest review! :)

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
This was a very enjoyable read, and hard to put down. The two main characters have important careers they each need to work on, and what ensues is a deliciously funny situation involving an iguana, medication and singing. From there, the relationship grows, and it's quite delightful to read; how they get to know each other physically and mentally.
It's by no means an instant romance, which makes the journey all the more greater.
Really looking forward to Leo's book.
Unfortunately I'll never be able to watch Edward Scissorhands again without thinking of this book ;)

The second book in this entertaining series.
Emma has now finished college and is a chef. She heads back to her families resort in Paradise Bay expecting to now be in charge of one of the restaurants in the resort, but when she gets there finds she is going to be the personal chef for the new private villa.
The first occupant is writer Pierce. All he wants to do is finish the book he has been failing to complete for the last two years, but then he meets Emma. They are both attracted to each other, but can it go any further than that?
A great read, looking forward to the next book in the series.

I haven’t read any of the previous series, but I throughly enjoyed this. I liked the witty writing, and pierce and Emma were perfect! I look forward to reading the next! Thank you to netgalley for the arc.

Cute book. No great story but a good one to read on a slow afternoon. Took me a day to finish it. Easy read. Definitely a good poolside book.

Imagine if George R.R. Martin was a sexy, aristocratic, misanthropic guy. That’s basically the conceit of this very enjoyable novel. Pierce Davenport has written a series that mirrors A Game of Thrones. Just like Martin, he hasn’t been able to finish the final book and the HBO fictional-counterpart is fed up waiting for him to get over his writer’s block. They’re threatening to finish their hit TV series based on his book by having the showrunners write the last season. And Pierce knows how inferior their treatment will be. Since that is exactly what happened with the HBO series of Game of Thrones, this was a very set-up. Since Pierce is super rich, he decides to hide away at an exclusive island resort where he’ll be the only one there in order to meet the deadline he’s been given for finishing his novel.
There he meets Emma, one of the family who runs the Paradise Bay resort. She’s just graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and is excited to return to the family resort and, she hopes, take over as chef at one of the resort restaurants. Except her brother assigns her to be the personal chef to Pierce.
Their first meetings get off to a very bad start with Pierce coming off as a real “wanker” with his demands about his food and his request that she not distract him by delivering the food in person.
After some humorous plot complications, she ends up having to type up Pierce's writing as he works to finish the novel. Of course, they fall for each other and then end up facing numerous other plot complications.
I found the set-up very intriguing and the dialogue and narration was snappy and witty. This was a very fun read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
