I love Cecelia Ahern. Loved her book PS I love you, loved the movie and I can’t wait for the second part of PS I love you... the preview I received from NetGalley was just a little taste that left me wanting more... the story begins 7 years later. Again we get to read about Holly and how she has moved on. She has started dating again with the possibility of moving in with her new boyfriend. Her sister Ciara has started a podcast where she has asked Holly to speak about grief and where she spoke about Gerry’s secret plan. The ten letters he left to be opened in the months after his passing. Her podcast was very popular they want her to continue with it or write a book about it. I can’t wait for her book to be released...

Postscript picks up 7 years after the death of Holly's husband, Gerry, and we find her still grappling with the fallout from his death. In some aspects she feel like she has moved on and is making a new life for herself. But when she looks closer, she wonders if she's lying to herself and glossing over some complex feelings.

Ahern's understanding of grief's tendency to linger (longer than society thinks is necessary) is obvious in her writing - even in this small excerpt. Holly's character is so understandably torn and confused, but feels like she needs to put on a brave face. It will be interesting to see if the support group in the book breaks her down and helps her build herself back up. I hope so!

I was hooked and left wanting more, and will really look forward to reading the full book soon!

This was an excerpt for Postscript by Cecelia Ahern. Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for the advance copy excerpt in exchange for an honest review.

It has been years since I read PS, I Love You, although I frequently watch the movie. I realize there are quite a few differences, but the characters themselves are the same. To find out that Ms Ahern was writing a new book with Holly and friends, well, it made me super happy. I was lucky enough to read an e-sample of Postscipt from Netgalley, and wow, I am DYING for more! Most of the characters I knew made an appearance, lots had changed since the story takes place a few years after Gerry’s death, but it was like stepping into a familiar place, with friendly faces that I know and love. I am so excited to read the entire book when it is released!!!!

Many readers may remember Cecilia Ahern's first book, P.S. I Love You. It was quite popular. Ahern wrote this novel when she was only 22 years old which amazes me. This debut told the story of a young widow and what happened to her as she read and acted on the letters left to her by her husband.

NetGalley has recently offered a preview of Postscript, a novel which features the protagonist of this first novel. In the sequel, readers will find out what has happened to Holly in the intervening years. She also takes on a project that forms the basis of Postscript.

I can't truly review this book because I have not seen the full novel. However, fans of the author may want to keep an eye out for this one. It is coming in February 2020, the month of love and Valentines.

I'm forced to give this a star rating even though I have issues. I gave this five stars because I know I will love it. I'm frustrated that it is not downloading.

I didn't think P.S. I Love You needed a sequel until I read Postscript. With only an excerpt, Ahem has managed to completely pull me into Holly's world once again! I'm eager to see how Holly balances her old life with the one she's living now. I'm also interested to see more of the dynamic between her and her new beau. I absolutely cannot wait to read the full book!

Though this was just a sampler I received of Postscript, it was amazing. Cecelia Ahern always manages to send a beautiful message in every book of hers. I have read almost all the books she has written and it goes without a saying that this one is also going to touch many hearts. The story revolves around Holly, 7 years post her husband's death where she has started to help strangers with terminal illnesses. Eagerly waiting for the release of this book.

Thank you NetGalley, HarperCollins Publishers and Cecelia Ahern for this e-sampler.

I received a 30-page sample of Postscript in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins.

This is the long-awaited sequel to PS I love you, starting off 6 years later from where the last book left us. The prologue insinuates that the main character, Holly, is in fact not yet over the death of her husband. The first chapter then jumps back three months to Holly giving a podcast interview, summarizing pretty much everything from the first book. This would make it possible to read this book without having read ‚PS, I love you‘.

The overall premise of this book seems to be that a group of dying people seek out Holly’s help in creating a similar goodbye in the form of letters as Holly’s husband had set up for her. However, I only got this information from the synopsis on GoodReads, not from the actual sampler.

Overall, the writing felt a little bit more forced and didn’t flow as freely as in the last book, making it seem like this whole sequel might have been a little forced. I don’t think I will be reading this full book as I don’t want to go reading an entire second book about Holly’s grief. However, it is an enticing premise and I am sure it will make for an entertaining and probably emotional read. I would be happy to watch a potential future movie adaptation of this book.

Reading the first 30ish pages of this book left me wanting more. I had read P.S. I Love You years ago and the beginning of this book kind of summarizes this enough that you don't have to go back and re-read it if you don't want to (although I'd recommend it because it was a great book). This story picks up seven years later, and Holly has moved on and is dating a man named Gabriel. We don't learn a lot about their relationship at the beginning of this book, although that's likely still to come. Rather we learn that she finally speaks about Gerry's death to others and then receives a card about the P.S. I Love You club. She's angry, but then finds out the person who gave her the card just died of cancer. What happens next is unknown as that's where the preview ends!

After reading the sample, I’m intrigued to read the final product. I hope it’s as good as the first book!
