4.5 Stars!

I thoroughly enjoyed Hide Away by Jason Pinter, a well written, well paced mystery/thriller that kept me turning the pages from the first chapter to the last. I especially liked the protagonist, Rachel Marin, and look forward to reading the next book in the series. Rachel is an intuitive, strong, and empathetic character. Highly recommended. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC of the story for review.

Great read! Keeps you guessing until the very end. Who is Rachel really? What is she hiding? Who do you trust? Who is the real killer? I could not put this book down!!

Thank you NetGalley Jason Pinter and Thomas & Mercer for this advanced reader copy edition and hearing my honest review. Looking forward to reading more with you

A classic 'whodunit' set in a small town in America featuring a single mother, superhero, sleuth and slasher - one Rachel Marin.

Her story unfolds as the local detectives try and solve an apparent suicide, which, of course, was murder. Rachel does her own investigating and over steps the mark on a couple of occasions. She has her own reasons for "helping" the investigation and it is no surprise she ends up arrested. No other spoilers from me.

There are a few occasions where we step back in time with her which were slightly confusing. As for the lazy Americanisms like 'practice' and 'licence' - I give up!

Overall, a very readable book but sometimes I felt as if Rachel had been watching a James Bond movie?

Thanks to Net Galley for the chance to read and review.

I liked this book very much. It was a mystery, not a thriller, but a good “ who done it “ mystery. I hope we will see more of the Rachael Marin books. I will be reading more Jason Pinter books while I’m waiting.

Interesting premise. A well written fun book. I had part of figured out and parts I thought I had figured out, but turned out to be wrong. I really liked the 2 detectives a lot. I really hope they play a big part in the next book.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview Hide Away by Jason Pinter. I am a fan - loved the Henry Parker series - read them all.
This new novel is fresh with new characters and will not disappoint.
Rachel has a secret - she has witnessed the most horrific crime - and she is in hiding.
Rachel has two children - Eric and Megan - and they live in the midwest under the cover of new names and a feeling of "protection".
Rachel and her kids live a relatively quiet life - that is until a woman is found in the river. The death looks like a suicide and the woman is a disgraced politician who was living a very different life than she was used to. Rachel knows this is a murder and it is her responsiblity to let the police know this - even if she takes the risk to out herself in the meantime. But Rachel gets more than she bargained for and now she is a suspect and her whole life is in jeopardy.
I am sure this will be a series book and I do hope so! Pinter creates a backstory for our protaganist and give the reader peeks into the past while keeping you engaged in the current time. Like this alot - 4 stars.
