I have read all of the Shopaholic books and love the format where you get additional glimpses of details through correspondence. This one was one of the favorites that I have read in a while. The story was perfect for Christmas time and reminded me how great of a character Becky is.

Oh Hallmark fans!! You will love this book! Christmas is the perfect setting for Kinsella to bring back Becky. Christmas Shopaholic can stand on it’s own as well. So if you haven’t read any of the previous titles in the series and simply want a festive read, this is it!

Ah, Sophie Kinsella with a brand new Shopaholic! This cute story follows our favorite shopaholic through the holidays - the time of year when shopping is a complete necessity! Giggle along as she finds the most hilarious ways to find the perfect gift and to justify a purchase here and there that was such a great deal for herself - even if it doesn’t exactly fit at the moment.

This book was so charming. Some of the Shopaholic books, especially the early ones, were hard for me to read because they were so deeply stressful, but I really enjoy how Becky has evolved as a person over the course of the series without losing her quirkiness. This book was fun and humorous and cozy and relatable without being too over the top. It’s not necessarily book club material with a ton of deep literary themes to discuss for hours, but I really enjoyed how Kinsella writes lighthearted novels that still have complex, relatable characters and realistic relationships. This is a lovely Christmas book.

No one makes me laugh like Becky. She is a loveable person, a little ditzy, but her heart is pure. Reading Christmas Shopaholic was pure entertainment. Beginning with the pantsuit malfunction to the hamster dive on Christmas Eve, every chapter is full of Becky scrapes. She finds herself hosting the family festivities, stressing over the the right menu and themes and misunderstandings galore. A truly uplifting story to read because the ending was perfect, highlighting the reason of the season is family togetherness. I can't wait for Becky's next adventure.

Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is back and better than ever! The series lost me somewhere in the middle, but Christmas Shopaholic has made me fall in love with Shopaholic all over again. Becky and Luke are as solid and endearing as ever. I feel like Kinsella has gotten her groove back with this novel. Some people may find Becky annoying, but I think she's hilarious and adorable in this one. I was so hooked into Becky's life from the first page that I ended up reading it in one sitting. I sincerely hope that Kinsella decides to continue the series. Christmas Shopaholic is a feel-good, must-read for the holiday season!

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC of this book.

I’ve been a fan of the Shopaholic series since I picked the first one up years ago, and Ms. Kinsella doesn’t disappoint with the latest installment.

“Christmas Shopaholic” finds Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) the hostess of her family’s traditional Christmas Day celebration. In typical shopaholic fashion, Becky’s plans go way overboard quickly, as she tries to incorporate everyone’s requests as well as the latest trends. Throw in an old boyfriend turned famous rocker who moves to Becky’s sleepy village, her parents move to a hipster part of London, school plays, and other misadventures, and you have yourself another fun chapter in the shopaholic series.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this fabulous ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't realize how much I missed Becky until I started reading this latest book in the series. It was true to the first few books of the Shopaholic series. I enjoyed the book. It was like revisiting family you have not seen in a while and just pick up where you left off.

Oh how I love Becky. Even though she gives me anxiety she is so fun. There was quite a few moments when I was laughing out loud while reading. Looking forward to her next chapter.

This book really put me in the Christmas spirit. It's nice to have her back to her usual Shopaholic fun. A nice change of pace from the suspense thrillers I'm usually drawn to reading. I highly recommend this book if you just need a break from life and want retail therapy without actually damaging your credit or running up your bills.

Thank you SO much for this ARC.

I am FOREVER a Shopaholic fan. I enjoy all of the stories and enjoy watching Becky's life unfold. It seems that she is maturing and experiencing all of life's big milestones at the same time as I am which makes me feel super connected. I love the silliness and all of the life lessons learned.

In my opinion, nothing will ever come close to the original book, but I will always enjoy each new story.

Christmas Shopaholic, is a fun story. I read it on a 95 degree day in July, but plan to reread it on a cold December day when I need a light, fun read after a busy time. This story is just the thing to lighten up with. I liked it and am glad I read it and recommend it to Shopaholic fans new and not so new. Thank you netgalley for gifting me an arc. The review is my own opinion.

Review: It's always hard for me to describe what I like and dislike about a new Sophie Kinsella book - I've been reading them for about fifteen years now and the good and the bad tend to be repeated in each new iteration. What do I love about the Shopaholic series? Becky's voice. Her relationships with Luke, Suze, and her parents. The humor (I laughed out loud a lot). The way Becky always makes things work for her, her incredible agency, her creativity. It's all here again, and I love it just as much. What do I wish Kinsella would change up a bit? I do confess to being a little tired of the Shopaholic always getting everything she wants, no matter how impossible it should be and how many dei ex machina it takes to deliver her whatever thing she just had to have this time.
One criticism: Becky's joke about identifying as a man in order to get into a club is in somewhat poor taste. If there's any way that can be edited out in the final version... it didn't ruin the book for me but I did wince, and I think a lot of readers may be offended by it.

Shopaholic is back with this fun Christmas story. It's a cute read. A great palate cleanser between darker/harder books. Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC!

This was just an OK read for me. I have previously enjoyed the Shopaholic series, but found myself struggling to get through this. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review via Netgalley.

As always, Sophie Kinsella has written a fun and flirty romantic comedy with equal parts shock and fluff. The main characters in "Christmas Shopaholic" are hilarious and sompletely oblivious to their surroundings most of the time. I feel like this would be a perfect read for the holiday season when we are all starting to feel the hustle and bustle of the holidsay season and the tightening of our wallets as we hear the siren bells to buy, buy, buy.

I just feel as if I ran a marathon. I love entering the unpredictable world of Becky Brandon, nee Bloomwood. There is nothing so simple that Becky can't make wildly disastrous yet ultimately wonderful. She is the quirky friend we all wish we could have. Be prepared for a whirlwind adventure from the very first page.
Becky's mother is asking her to host her first Christmas. Of course Becky always veers from her original ideas and they snowball until her planned event turns into a free for all. Becky has a tremendous heart and in her attempt to please everyone for the holidays from her best friend Suze to her vegan non commercial sister, poor Becky is caught in a mass of holiday mishaps.
If I could pick a favorite Shopaholics book this would be it, hands down. This story had me bursting out laughing and at times crying. For goodness sake Ms. Kinsella, you had me laughing and crying at the same time! The crying was the good kind. Becky has truly evolved into an even more special person than in the past. You have to look beyond her commercial impulses to find a genuinely lovely and huge hearted woman that despite her sometimes flakey behaviors is really quite wise.
I loved the family dynamics and Luke and Becky appear closer than ever. There is a wonderful plot that is interspersed with numerous side shows that explode like fireworks.
If you are looking for that special holiday novel that makes you feel alive and eager to embrace the season please, please, please grab a copy of this brilliant delight.
The most gripping and tender moment of the story was literally the last line. No spoilers here, you will have to trust me that this book will be perfect and leave you with a gigantic smile on your face.
Reviews to be posted to Goodreads, Amazon, Kobo and Barnes and Noble.

Sophie Kinsella returns to the world of everyone's favorite shopaholic with a comedic novel that is both entertaining and insightful. Fans who were disappointed with the last few books in this series need not fear, Christmas Shopaholic returns to the series' roots with a new and original story that reads like the original beloved trilogy. Although technically a holiday novel, Beck'y antics can be enjoyed year round. This reviewer was delighted to devour it in July! Fans of Mary Kay Andrews, Mary Jayne Baker, and Jane Green will enjoy diving into this frantic and funny fiction.

I was fortunate to receive a free ARC of this book from Netgalley. The above thoughts, insights, or recommendations are my own meek musings.
