I truly missed Becky Brandon nèe Bloomwood.
As usual, it was a thrill and a pleasure to read the newest Shopaholic novel. Sophie Kinsella is a fantastic storyteller.

Becky’s family has decided that she should host Christmas. In typical Becky fashion, she tries to do it all. Making the perfect meal, with everything that her guests request, finding the perfect presents for Luke and Minnie, sewing the most amazing costume for Minnie’s nativity play..... All of this, PLUS Becky’s ex boyfriend (who is now a rockstar) shows up and seems to be quite interested in Becky.

I had no issues reading this Christmas book in the sweltering heat of August, it made me wish Christmas was almost here!

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House/Dial Press for the ARC of this book!!

Without a doubt, this is an easy 5 star rating for me. I loved reading this book as much as I loved reading the first one, and all the other books in the series.
The shopaholic books are among my most loved books, and this latest instalment doesn’t disappoint.
As the cherry on top, this left me with a sweet warm and fuzzy feeling after the last page, due to a very special Bex-style Christmas. Sooooooo good!

For several years I was tired of Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood, and her antics. The constant shopping, screwing up her life, brand-dropping, etc started to get on my nerves. I felt like I had outgrown her, and I was happy when Sophie Kinsella stopped putting out Becky books and started focusing more on her stand alone novels, which are formulaic, but nice candy reading. Then the disaster we call the 2016 election happened, and I found myself scrambling for my old Shopaholic novels that I had discovered during the Bush administration. Suddenly, I had reverted back to my 20 year old self who protested the Patriot Act and Abu Ghraib torture, hounded elected officials constantly, and read Shopaholic books over and over when I needed an escape. It felt ridiculous to be reading these books again, but necessary to my survival, and I even found new sympathies for Becky, since I am now married to a determined, focused workaholic. When I heard that a new Shopaholic was coming out this year I asked Netgalley for an ARC, and luckily, got one!

This is typical Shopaholic with a Christmas twist. I actually can't believe we've never had a holiday Shopaholic. To be honest, there's not much shopping (except for online, but even that seems tame compared to earlier Shopaholic books) but that's OK with me. Becky's problems now feel more real than just hiding credit card bills, and obsessing over celebrities. In this book she is in charge of hosting Christmas for the first time, which is stressful for anyone, but especially Becky because she wants to make it extra special for everyone. In the meantime she's dealing with an old boyfriend, sewing a costume for Minnie's Nativity play, coming up with marketing schemes for Suze's new business, navigating a fight between her mother and Janice, fighting for a perfect gift for Luke, and trying to figure out what's going on with her sister, Jess. The books ends up across between National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and any Hallmark Christmas movie. Some parts of predictably funny, with slapstick humor, and some are predictably sappy, and heart-warming. It's a decent book, and I can myself turning to it for comfort reading around the holiday season.

I'm glad to welcome back my old friend, Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood. I didn't realize how much I had come to depend on her when the world of politics was turning against me.

A solid re-entry into the Shopaholic Series which had strayed too far away from its strengths in the more recent volumes. This book finds Becky living quietly in the countryside, raising her daughter and preparing for her first time hosting Christmas. Naturally, shopping ensues. which is supposed to be the source of much humor, but I found this plot point the least interesting. What I liked: Jess, Janet vs. Jane, the billiards club, and especially Sprygge. What didn't work as well: Christmas turkey orders, Becky's new friend from the school (forgettable storyline). Also, where is Danny?

I'll keep reading the series and hoping for the best. Sprygge!!

As a lifelong fan of the shopaholic series and Sophie Kinsella, I was super thrilled to get an advanced copy of Christmas Shopoholic.
What's not to love about Christmas in July? And who doesn’t love Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) and her ridiculous antics and questionable choices which lead to entertaining outcomes. Sophie Kinsella kept it light, funny, heartwarming and current. It's a fast read, but there is a lot going on leading up to Christmas that will make you smile, roll your eyes and read to the very last "WORD".

I went in fearing the worst, because there are times a series tends to plateau or worse, decline, but this one was better than the last. Very happy to have the opportunity!

This, this is why I love Becky. She is back in classic form with Suze and Jess and all the gang! And...it's the funniest book I have read in years! I love that the story is back in England and taking place around the craziness that is Becky Bloomwood planning Christmas. I feel like the last two books were not quite well fitted (maybe?) for the series, and I know a lot of loyal workaholic readers were disappointed in them. To these readers I say "READ THIS BOOK" Becky is back! 5 stars!!

Apparently I missed the last segment in the Shopaholic series but if you are like me and somehow missed it as well don't fret as thankfully I wasn't lost at all!

Anyway - onto the latest saga with Becky, Luke, Minnie and the rest of the 'Shopaholic' gang! There's one thing I love and it's Christmas themed books. While others are soaking up everything Hallmark and Lifetime in December I'm reading every cheesy Christmas book I can grab and Christmas Shopaholic is right in line with that genre.

Becky and Luke have (thankfully) returned to England and life is back to normal... until Becky's parents inform her that they are moving to Shoreditch to allow her sister Jess to move into their home for a while. Due to the move and lack of space in their new flat, they've asked Becky if she'd take over hosting Christmas. Becky immediately agrees and invites her best friend Suzie to come as well and soon enough Becky is in way over her head and her typical near-disasters are at every turn of the page.

If you are looking for a deep, gritty, soul-searching book, this may not be your cup of tea. but if you are looking for a book that will bring a smile to your face and remind you that Christmas is a feeling, not an item, this is your book. Although I do want the llama ornament, not going to lie!

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for a copy of this eARC book in exchange for my honest review.

I didn't realize how much I missed Becky until I had her again! This book was like finding an old friend and just being able to relax and laugh at their antics and stories. What is so enchanting about this book is the crazy lengths and situations that Becky goes to and gets into just to spread joy. The author really gave every reader a gift with this story. If you haven't met Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) yet, you really need to. I haven't laughed this hard in a long long time and I cannot wait to read this story again to just feel the joy on each page.

Sophie Kinsella brings Becky Bloomwood back into our lives with humor and heart.
Becky is still shopping way too much but she has involved into the modern age: she is an online shopaholic! But Becky is distracted by her online prizes by the Christmas Holiday. Her parents have asked her t host Christmas! Becky is overwhelmed! There is so much to do and so many people to please! It doesn't help that her ex-boyfriend, now a rock idol, has sauntered into her life. Can Becky keep it together this Christmas Season or is she in over her head?
I love Becky but I am sad that she still hasn't gotten past buying too much stuff and hiding it from her husband. The good news is that while that stays the same so does the heart that goes with Becky. Becky loves shopping for others and will go above and beyond for the perfect present so that idea of care is magnified by the fact that she wants her family to have the perfect Christmas. While there may be instances where she buys just to make herself happy, she shops to show how much she loves her family and friends.
Kinsella has always balanced her stories keeping them from being too frivious while not dragging them down with the moral. This novel, in particular, made me both laugh out loud and wee. I found myself so much in Becky this time and empathized with her more than ever.
With just as much fun and just as much heart, Christmas Shopaholic is Becky at her best.

Ah, Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood). How I've missed you so.

Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series are so funny, and addicting! Becky is back, with her usual quirkiness (or edgy-ness this time around), but now she has to plan and host Christmas for the family. I love Becky, have loved her since the first Shopaholic book. This book was great, with some definite laugh out loud moments. Why haven't they made more movies about this series??

Another fantastic book by Sophie Kinsella. I love all her work (including her Madeleine Wickham work), but the Shopaholic series is my favorite.

I devoured this in a day, as usual Rebecca Brandon nee bloomwood is as charming and quirky as ever. When Sophie Kinsella announced another book I was So excited.
The book seemed to of taken place further down the road than where we last left off but was nothing short of thrilling and invigorating.

Excellent read for anyone looking for a laugh or a decent series to follow.

What a delight Christmas Shopaholic turns out to be! I loved every aspect, each nuance of this wonderful story. Becky is called upon to host Christmas at her house this year. As she plans and shops for her fun friends and family, she encounters numerous obstacles and adventures, each humorous in its own right. I chuckled frequently, and even got teary at the sweet conclusion of the story. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Sophie Kinsella always knocks it out of the park with the Shopohalic series. Christmas Shopohalic is no exception. I love that she included the easiness of online shopping and how it can really up a Shopohalic’s game. It is an excellent addition to her series!

This was a really fun book that I will look forward to rereading around the holidays. I have read all of Sophie Kinsella’s books and this one will not disappoint her fans. All of your favorite characters are back along with some great new ones! I have loved following Becky’s life and always find her antics hilarious. This book made me laugh harder than I had reading in a long time. If you have read the other Shopaholic books, you can’t miss Becky taking on the family Christmas for the first time. I can’t wait for the next installment!

I have read and so enjoyed all of Sophie Kinsella’s books. This is the latest in the Shopaholic series. I have enjoyed reading about Becky and following the different stages of her life. Reading about Becky’s life is like visiting an old friend. The Shopaholic series is always timely and smart, and Kinsella’s clever wit always makes me smile. This newest book is wonderful!

I love Sophie's writing so much. This book was cute and funny and just in time for the holidays. I have to read the previous books in this series because this one was so good. I adored it. I'm not one for holiday books but this one was worth it.

Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood is back just in time to be placed in charge of Christmas for the entire extended family. Will she be able to make it magical for all of them or will she succumb to her shopaholic ways. A visit with an old friend just in time for the holidays that will make you laugh, shake your head and be surprised by Becky and her family.

Thank You Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group for the ARC of Christmas Shopaholic. I LOVE LOVE LOVED this book. Becky made me laugh so hard, more than any other book that I can remember. This was actually my first book to read of the Shopaholic series and I went and purchased the eight books prior to this one, it was such a great read!!!

Another great Sophie Kinsella book!! I love all the Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) books. She always manages to get out of trouble and learn what really matters. I LOVE the "Christmas words" she and Luke exchanged at the end of the book, in the spirit of Jess's non- consumerism. I can't wait for the next in the series!!
