I absolutely loved this book. I really enjoyed the first few books in the Shopaholic series, but the last few were misses for me. However, I've always loved Becky's character and am a sucker for anything that's Christmas themed. I loved how Becky has matured and how she handled all the holiday stress thrown at her in this book. Also, that ending?! I really hope that there's at least one more book in the series!

What a lovely return to Becky Bloomwood! I felt like a I was having a chat with an old friend, and I appreciated that she is still up to her old tricks. This book is like a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form, and I couldn't get enough. Here's hoping for another Shopaholic novel - a heroine who will do anyone for the ones they love, while making you laugh, will always be a good read in my book.

I just finished Christmas Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella and I give it 3 stars! I think that this is a fun new release this year that most readers will enjoy. I’ve never read anything by this author and didn’t know what to expect. I don’t think you need to read the whole series, however I didn’t immediately connect with the main character. This was a quick, learn the meaning of Christmas read. Also, lots of things happen, (go wrong), and lots of things are said, (foot in mouth), so be prepared to feel awkward along with Becky at times as she plans to host Christmas for the very first time!

Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is such a wonderful character. Her laugh-out-loud antics are a pleasure to read and this holiday spin on the Shopaholic series makes for perfect Christmas reading. If there was ever a character to demonstrate the true meaning of Christmas, it's Becky with her heart of gold.

Oh, Sophie! Another Shopaholic book! Yes, this is the most recent in a series. Can it be read alone? Well of course it can, but why would you want to if you can have a readathon and enjoy them all in a row. It has been a while since the last one, but once I got past the first few pages, it was like catching up with an old friend. Predictable? Of course. However, the main character, Becky, never disappoints. Christmas and Sophie Kinsella for the win!

Becky Brandon loves her family, her job and most of all - Becky loves Christmas. She counts the days to lose herself in gingerbread houses, festive trees, and of course, hence the name, the Christmas shopping. As the holiday quickly approaches her once dependable parents experience a mid-life crisis, moving to a hip London neighborhood and leaving Becky as Christmas Day host for the very first time. Obsessed with tradition and the perfect gift for her husband, Becky is thrown for a loop when her handsome rock star ex-boyfriend moves into the neighborhood, her vegan step sister mysteriously shows up sans husband and much of her precious shopping turns into an online fiasco. This laugh-out-loud, adorable holiday fix is just what you need when the demanding list grows out of control. Take a wonderful break with this fun celebration of friendship, family and shopping!

This book was a great addition to my holiday reads for this year. I was luck enough to get an ebook copy for an honest review. I have read other Sophie Kinsella books before but not the shopaholic series. I feel like now I want to go back to the beginning. Bex and her quirky friends and family are quite an enjoyable read. I found myself chuckling at some of the antics that she found herself in the middle of, almost like a child, she doesn't think about what may happen and just charges ahead trying to do the right thing. Really fun Christmas read!!

Christmas shopaholic

Thank you Netgalley for the honor to access the ARC. I usually enjoy reading her Shopaholic stories but this one left me feeling annoyed.

It gets exhausting when it is the same recycled storyline and despite her getting out of debt in the past she continues to get herself in situations where she is overspending. Either I am getting too old and this is not an interesting way of life or if you read one shopaholic you start seeing the same formula in all the shopaholic stories. I wish the character would evolve into something more than a selfish individual.

This is classic Becky Brandon née Bloomwood in all of her glory. Up to her usual shenanigans and spending way too much money on frivolous things like 30 pounds of frozen fish.

These books are fun and lighthearted and full of crazy scenes so out there that you have to laugh at them. But at the heart of these books there’s a lot of, well, heart. Becky is so cuckoo because she just loves her family and wants them all to have the best and happiest Christmas.

If you’re looking for something fun to read this winter, this should for sure be on your list.

Festive and funny… Christmas Shopaholic is the latest (#9) in Sophie Kinsella’s Shopaholic series. The series features Becky Brandon, an over-the-top super shopper, who is definitely in her element as the holidays approach. On top of the usual preparations, Becky will be facing a new challenge - hosting her entire family for Christmas! Of course, everyone has their own requests and expectations especially her sister, Jess, who is not only vegan but demands all gift-giving be locally sourced and sustainable!

If this sounds like chaos in the making, it is! Quirky but kind and loving, Becky puts her all into the challenge resulting in a wild, hysterically funny read.

FYI - I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood is back again and what a wonderful time of the year to have a taste of Becky again. You will find yourself laugh and shaking your head at the things Becky does and somehow it all works out. This book will get you in the holiday spirit and bring joy and laugher to your day. The 9th book in the series and if you haven't picked up this series do yourself a favor and start with book one.

A light hearted and funny book that will leave you wanted more of Becky's adventures. From trying to get her sister an eco gift to finding her husband the prefect present and also crossing path's with her ex you will find yourself laughing out loud. I enjoyed reading this book and I read it so fast I was sad it ended.

Can't wait till the next book and see where Becky takes us next.

I received Christmas Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella as an ARC from NetGalley. I have read all of the books in the Shopaholic Series so I was interested in reading the latest installment. Becky Brandon is back with her wackiness and this time she is hosting Christmas for her family even though she has no idea what she is doing. Hijinks ensue as normal in one of these books but everything works out in the end. Becky is a fun and entertaining character and I love all of the other characters in this series too. If you are looking for a funny book to provide some comic relief in your life and you love rom coms then this is the book for you.

As always, I loved this installment of Shopaholic. Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood is one of my guilty pleasures. She's so fun and hysterical. In this book, she's preparing to host Christmas for her friends and family. But of course, nothing can be simple for Becky! This book had me rolling! I would definitely recommend!

I haven't read a Shopaholic book in years; but because I love everything Christmas I thought I would read Sophia Kinsella's latest book. I am so glad I did. I forgot how funny this series is. I was laughing out loud constantly.

A light weekend read that will help you get into the Christmas mood. Family drama, wonderful friendships, and and of course a lot of shopping by Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood.

I'm so glad I was reminded how good these books are, I am going to go back and read the ones I missed in the series.

This book seemed like a very fun contemporary story. It started of really interesting with a lot of promise but sadly I quickly lost interest and was unable to finish. I may just be in the mood for more action and excitement Im not sure but this did not hit the mark for me.

10-15 years ago when I read these, Becky was funny. Now she just seems immature and irresponsible. I know she means well but I'd hope for a little more growth from her... hard to relate to her now. I wasn't able to finish this one, but I do know others who enjoyed it.

As a dedicated Becky Bloomwood fan, I will continue to read this series until the very end. With each additional novel in this series that is released, I feel as if I'm returning to an adventure with an old friend. It's comfortable and it's cozy. As well, I'm always guaranteed to have a laugh while reading this series due to the (mis)adventures of Becky.

With all of that being said though, I must mention that although each novel is still enjoyable, I feel part of that is due to the nostalgia and familiarity that I have for the characters. The experience of each novel isn't as exciting as it used to be and I think it may be coming time to conclude this series. Don't get me wrong, I will always love all of these characters and think of this series as one of my favourites but I feel like Becky has hit a lot of 'life milestones' and that original excitement and originality of the series is waning.

As originally stated, I will be there for this series until the very end and can imagine that I will enjoy them to a certain degree until then. Becky has grown so far in who she has become as a character but still has kept the relatable (and humorous) aspects of her character. She has moments where she can outwardly appear to be vain to others but deep down it's obvious that she has a heart full of good intentions.

This was a quick, relatable and humorous read that is perfect for the Christmas/Holiday season--especially as it features the attempt of 'doing it all' during a very busy season. As always, Sophie Kinsella's writing style is delectable and is easy to fly through. I will return to the tales of Becky Bloomwood with no hesitation but I'm really hoping Sophie Kinsella will one day introduce us readers to another witty and relatable character in a new series.

I am a huge Sophie Kinsella fan. Oddly enough this was my first Shopaholic book but I hav read almost all of her standalone books. This one read like it could have been a standalone if you are new to the series. It was so funny to read what the main character would do in order to get the gift for her husband. Even with this being a book pretty far into a series, there was still some character development and storyline progression.

I am really excited to start this series from the beginning.

This is the ninth book in the series by Sophie Kinsella and I am sad to say that this is my first read by Sophie. I love the character that Sophie has developed in this series, Becky Brandon (neé Bloomwood). Becky is definitely a shopaholic and can't stand to maybe miss a deal or miss something on her list being added to her favorite retail site at a discount.

Becky has been thrown a new challenge this year by her parents. They are going away and want her to host the Christmas dinner with all the fixings. Becky is not so sure that she can pull this off, but she accepts the challenge and then the requests start coming in from her crazy vegan sister to have a vegan turkey. This task should be no problem for Becky except that she can't stay focused. Becky is too worried about missing a deal and can't focus on the Christmas dinner that she needs to get planned and ready for the whole family.

This book will have you laughing out loud with Becky. She is such a hoot and makes me nervous all at the same time. I just wanted her to focus on one task and get it done. Nope, we would be back to the computer and looking for something else.

With all the crazy requests that were thrown at Becky, I did think that she managed to pull off a great Christmas dinner and everyone was pleased with everything. You will fall in love with Becky once you get used to her unfocused self. Lol

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.
