This was a fun book and a witty take on Christmas. A little over the top at times but it was a nice departure from the usual Christmas romance book. Prepare to laugh out loud and sometimes roll your eyes at Becky’s shenanigans. 3.5 /⭐️. Thank you @randomhouse for the advance reader in exchange for my honest review.

I love a Sophie Kinsella book I have not read other books in the shopaholic series but I still enjoyed this one and the Christmas setting and family and it was everything I love about her books just with a setting of Christmas time!

A decade ago, I adored Becky Bloomwood. I loved every single book.

So, needless to say, I was ecstatic to read Christmas Shopaholic. Perhaps I built it up too much in my mind because it wasn’t at all what I’d hoped.

I found Becky to be obnoxious. She trivialized so many important societal and cultural issues. She seems to have not matured at all since Confessions of a Shopaholic. Now, she’s just got more money to blow on 30 pounds of smoke salmon.

Christmas Shopaholic does have some redeeming qualities. Becky is a devoted mother and friend. She puts the needs of others ahead of her own, but often to her own detriment.

I wanted to love this book and I have it the old college try, but it wasn’t for me. Or, maybe, unlike Becky, I’ve matured and outgrown her antics.

Hilarious and fun addition to the shopaholic series set at one of the best times of the year: Christmas. You don't need to be familiar with the series to appreciate Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood!

I have been reading about Rebecca Bloomwood for a long time. I have seen her character grow and change, a little bit, and I was glad to see the story continued. Rebecca, however, seems to be up to her old habits again with cringe worthy Christmas shopping. She has always been the queen of awkward situations, and I always find these books funny. Shopaholic is a delightful entertaining read that will make you smile with its quirky ridiculous characters. This is an excellent holiday romcom!

I really like Sophie Kinsella's books, and this one is no exception. Becky Brandon (Bloomwood) from the Shopaholic series is back for another round. She loves to shop and Christmas is the best excuse ever! Her parents have decided they need a change and suddenly are enjoying avocado toast for breakfast. Becky's not sure what to make of it all, but she's determined to bring everyone together for Christmas.

The book is sweet and funny and I really enjoyed it.

Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is back in a holiday installment of the Shopaholic series and there's nothing she loves more than Christmas! Well, not including a good sale...or online shopping.

It is the most wonderful time of the year. Her mum and dad always host and there's carols playing, the neighbours coming over for some cheer, Christmas pudding, and of course, presents.

Only this year, Becky's parents are moving and have asked her to host. What could possibly go wrong? Well for starters, her sister Jess needs to have a vegan turkey. How hard can that be to find? And Minnie is asking for a picnic hamper. She can definitely find one online. But Luke only wants aftershave, how boring. Where is his Christmas spirit? Then the guest list, and their demands, start spiralling out of control. And to top it all off, an old boyfriend surfaces along with his pushy girlfriend and it is not exactly clear as to what their motives are.

Will Becky be able to deck the halls and pull off Christmas?

Readers of my blog will know how much I ADORE Sophie Kinsella so it will come as no surprise that I was thrilled to receive an advanced copy of the newest Shopaholic book! Her writing makes me smile and if you haven't listened to a Sophie Kinsella audiobook, I highly recommend it, especially if narrated by Jayne Entwistle.

I love how Kinsella capitalizes on the chaos of Christmas. She juxtaposes the frenzy of the season against the time-honoured festivities. We all have our traditions and there are certainly times where I question some of the things I bring upon myself in the spirit of Christmas. It's totally worth it, right?

These books always border on being a little over the top, but they are so engaging and entertaining. Becky tugs on my heartstrings—she is endearing, fun, and hilarious (even when she's trying to be serious). We could all use more Becky in our lives.

This book is sparkly, festive, and simply delightful. A must holiday read.

What a joy to spend another few days with Becky Brandon, née Bloomwood! As with other titles in the Shopaholic series, I cringed at Becky's decision making and spending at times... until the perspective shifts at the end and you realize how her friends and family truly see her.

This will be going on my list to read every Christmas!

I definitely think I've outgrown this series. It was a cute, easy read, but the characters seem to be stuck in a time warp and haven't "grown" as people. I think this might be the last of the series for me. I started reading this series in my 20s and I could relate and laugh with Becky, but now that I am older, Becky Bloomwood seems so immature, silly and vapid.

This book was really entertaining, lighthearted and fun! I enjoyed the quirkiness of the Becky character who always had the best of intentions but always seemed to get herself into odd situations and/or trouble. I related very much to the sweetness and genuineness of her character. However, I wasn't big into the obsessive shopping the book was based around. So that part kind of got boring to me. But overall I liked the story and thought it was a great way to kick off my holiday reading.

I held off on reading this book until November so I could enjoy the holidays alongside Becky. There were so many moments where I laughed out loud! This was a perfect, light-hearted read to get me in the holiday spirit. Some of her shenanigans were so outrageous and excessive but if you've read any of the other Shopaholic series, you know that's the norm so I just went along with it, at times rolling my eyes, but more times, chuckling out loud at so many funny moments. All the characters were endearing and play well against Becky. I was sad to finish the novel, felt like the holidays were over (it's only November as I'm reading it) and my best friend has left. One of my favorite Shopaholic reads!

It's been a while since I read a Shopaholic book, but as soon as I saw this was coming out, I was excited to read it and re-connect with the hilarious Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood). This book is like a big mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows, super comforting. I read it at the perfect time, just as the holiday craziness is beginning all around us. This definitely is my kick off to Christmas. It's such a fun novel, a mini escape from reality. There were some laugh out loud moments and some eye rolls for ridiculousness, but all in good fun. I think this book can stand on its own if you haven't read any of the other Shopaholic novels. Cozy up with a cup of tea or hot cocoa and enjoy!

Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood loves everything about Christmas, but mostly the challenge of coming up with just the right Christmas gift for everyone. Her mother always hosts the family Christmas dinner, but this year, Becky’s parents inform her that they are temporarily moving to a trendy London neighborhood, so Becky will be hosting Christmas in her new house. Oh, and her vegan sister Jess and husband Tom will be visiting from South America, so Becky has to find a vegan turkey. Then Becky’s college ex-boyfriend rock musician rents a cottage in the neighborhood which makes Becky question whether she is still cool and edgy. On the positive side, Becky has found the PERFECT present for her husband Luke (even if he insists he wants after shave lotion for Christmas), but to get it, she needs to find a way to join a billiards club that doesn’t accept women members.

The latest title in the Shopaholic series is a wonderful antidote to holiday craziness. Although Becky seems to complicate her life unnecessarily, she just wants to have perfect presents, and for everyone to be happy and enjoy the holiday. She is so good-hearted that it’s impossible to dislike her. Curl up with a plate of cookies and a cup or glass of something, and have a good laugh about Becky’s latest plans and schemes.

"Christmas Shopaholic" is the first in the series that I have read, but definitely not the last. The key word here is "humor." Becky embarks upon her Christmas shopping plans in good faith, with an organizer diary and lots of ideas. When her quirky family nominates her to host Christmas, Becky is thrown into an additional whirlwind of activity and quests for the best of everything. Her family bombards her with too many ideas, and Becky tries to be the good hostess and fulfill all their wishes. As in real life, the best of intentions seem to go awry. Throw in a job, a Christmas play, little kids, an old flame, and assorted unusual characters, and you have the life of a Shopaholic..

Readers are sure to find this light hearted tale a welcome break from the hectic holiday season. I recommend a cup of hot cocoa, a warm fuzzy blanket, and a comfortable seat. Get ready to laugh and cry with Becky as she attempts to perfect an outstanding Christmas for her family. Prepare for a surprise ending too.

When I saw that there was a new Shopaholic book out I was equal parts excited and nervous. Would I have outgrown Becky? I was happy to see that I really enjoyed this book, I found that in some ways Becky was still the irresponsible Shopaholic but in other ways she had grown. Her family did irritate me, especially Jess, but the ending was great...especially her word for Luke.

This book was a great way to start getting into the Christmas spirit. This was my first Shopaholic book and it was a very funny, light read. Perfect for the holidays!

I am so thankful that I had an opportunity to read this book selection. I remember reading the first book and I had to put it down because it made me think of my own debt and freaked me out. This book is a great addition to the series and really put me in the mood for the holidays. The story has the right amount of humor and heart, and I can relate to Becky more than I want!
