I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Having gone through a traumatic event recently I thought this might be a good fit, though my therapist basically said the same things. If someone has been through a traumatic event and can't see a therapist, this might be a good option for them.

Shari Botwin has given the world an incredible piece of healing work here. Anyone who has experienced trauma or knows someone who has will benefit from this book. Shari shares her own personal stories as well as stories of others who have experienced a variety of traumas.

Shari has over 2 decades of experience as a clinician and it is obvious that she knows trauma healing well. Her tips are practical and if applied will lead to great healing. This book really does lead us to THRIVE in light of the deep hurt we have experienced.

What a great resource for anyone on a healing journey.

The publisher provided an ARC through Netgalley. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts

Surviving a serious trauma is often difficult enough, let along thriving after a traumatic experience. This book showcases ways to make this possible, though, which makes it a must read for anyone who is still battling with trauma from their past.

I’m not always the biggest fan of self-help and mental health books that are told via stories from other people. This collection works well, though.

Dear Shari,

I picked up this book because I am a survivor of domestic violence who is trying to thrive after trauma. I have been successful thus far but there is always room for improvement. I learned a lot from reading your book and for that I am grateful. I now have the words to explain what are some of my emotions and feelings. I also now know where my binge eating disorder originates and will take the steps to vanquish the urges.

I loved how you brought in real stories, not only from yourself, from people of various backgrounds of trauma. Some of I did not relate to and that is okay because many of the feelings are similar.

I loved how you provided little exercises at the end of each chapter. I have copied down all the ones that relate to my abuse history and trauma.

Thank you for sharing your story!

Thank you Netgalley and Rowman & Littlefield for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Shari Botwin's goal for this book was to unite us abuse survivors whether or not we have things in common. I'd say she successfully achieved this goal.

I was excited to read this book based on my own trauma, and was hoping for advice and ideas on how to cope and move past.

It was truly an inspirational read.
