I was a bit confused at the beginning since I didn't know going in that it was a sequel, but after a quick brush up on the first book, it was a lot easier read through. It was a cute romance that engaged you enough from the beginning to keep you invested in the characters and their story together. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me an e-arc in exchange for an honest review!

Carrie was unprepared for him. She usually found San Diego’s Gaslight Quarter peaceful in the early morning. A pause before the working week unleashed it’s howl- a final respite from pressure, hustle, and men stuffing their chests out. A pause to help her cope with upcoming interviews, an industry panel, and her fast-approaching start-up conference. Carrie had a business partner Lianne. Lianne had head hunted carrie three years back.Carrie told Lianne she didn’t like attention and Lianne said “There’s only so high you can climb without receiving it. People like to look up.” The man was grazing at the buildingCarrie had acquired years back for her sister’s live music venue. Until now, the stranger has existed purely within the realm of Emmie’s venue. Carrie tried not to think of him outside of the dim underground bubble. She had a life to live and little time to daydream. He was usually dancing. In thirty years carrie had never reacted to anyone like him. He said morning to Carrie as he turned and saw her. He thanked her for agreeing to this. Confused, Carrie lifted her chin. He added Emmie didn’t think she would. He also said it was going to be compelling but he had some ideas. He said she looked confused. He also said he wasn’t even close he knew she watched him dance all the time. He said his type was anyone he is attracted to. He asked why was she always looking at him like that? And why hadn’t she ever spoken to him? Carrie knew she would never act on such an attraction. As a prominent business investor, she provided capital for cutting edge start-up businesses- the male dominated privay=te investment industry didn’t exactly save women seats at the head of the table. He said he was getting the vibe she hadn’t spoken to Emmie yet. Carrie said not in relationship to him. Than Carrie said they always have breakfast at seven. She hoped he realized he got the time wrong and leave Emmie and carrie to their weekly routine. He than answered yeah she told him and let’s go up. Carpe Vesoerum was Emmie’s live music venue. When Emmie came out of the bathroom Carrie learned his name was Edwin Prince often just called Prince. Carrie looked at Emmie and asked why Edwin had lots of ideas about something she was never going to agree to? Emmie/Emma said okay it’s just an idea and you can say no… like she was absolutely sure Carrie would. It’s to do with Emmie’s absession. Carrie stance softened. Her sister had lived through so much. She’d struggled and endured. Her peculiar wedding obsession- Emmie was already married- was tied up in past pain. Although carrie couldn’t relate to emma’s weakness for wedding, carrie would never criticize it, carrie Emma decided she wanted a big mural on the outside of the building . taking up the entire side wall. A bride. She told Em to do whatever she wanted . Emmie said she had figured Carrie would say that and hired Edwin to paint it. Emma added- Edwin would like you to set for him. As the bride. Carrie said no. Carrie said she just placed in California’s ten most successful women in business. Carrie was sick to death on her businesswoman ranking. Public recognition was not why Carrie pursued business investment. In two days she had endured seven interviews, a photoshoot on a two page spread. Carrie decided she would let this fiery prince capture her energy to wrangle into a bride. For public viewing. She’d let him observe her own end, as she’d done to him. And as she did so, she would regain the control he’d taken from her over the past few months. She would be able to think clearly again, concentrate at work, and focus on what is important. In less than thirty minutes, her lust had been exposed, close contact scheduled. Her resolute goes on, her own life has been pried open. But she would regain it and life would go on. One fantasy lighter, for months he pretended not to notice her attention. He hadn’t made contact, even as her gaze elicited reactions inside him like heat rippling over embers. Week after week he went home from a night out burdened from incompletion. Edwin didn’t paint how a subject saw themselves or how they wanted to be seen.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a good easy read. Carrie and Edwin’s attraction and chemistry was hot. I liked the woman was rich and powerful in this book and had a problem with committing. Although the male was a very talented charismatic man. I also liked that Edwin was unpredictable. I really loved seeing Carrie and Edwin grow. A lot of emotions in this book. I liked that carrie realized, as it can happen in real life, that she was lonely and it took her awhile. I enjoyed the plot and the pace. I also really liked the way the author’s style in writing this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

Book #2 in The Morgan Sisters series
Wow the writing in this one is exquisite, every breath, every glance even a blush, touches you. The chemistry between Edwin and Carrie is palatable through the whole book. It’s so enjoyable, so worth the read.
Recommend for adult lovers of romance.

Like the first book in this series this installment is also very melodramatic - sometimes a little too over the top. Edwin is an intense and complicated artist. The author handled his issues with commitment and his bisexuality well - kudos to her for that because in many books the latter, which is more commonly acknowledged these days, isn’t handled well. But Carrie fell a bit flat for me. I couldn’t tell whether her lack of connection was a suppression of her feelings to avoid being hurt and to protect herself or if she lacked social skills and social awareness - or perhaps a combination. Also, her somewhat unique style of dressing was frequently acknowledged but it’s genesis not clearly explained or even really alluded to. The end of the book was at first heart wrenching and and then so affirming!

His Billionaire Bride is not at all what I had expected after reading the first Morgan Sister book. Madeline Ash has written such a wonderful layer romance that it will make even the most cynical reader into a hopeless romantic.

Carrie Morgan is all business and nothing else in her life. It takes a complete opposite from the logical romance wary woman to break down her barrier to entertain love. Edwin Prince, an artist does not want her to just entertain the idea of love but to embrace it with him. Love story worthy of the name love story.

Of the two Morgan sisters’ stories His Billionaire Bride is the best. I can’t wait to see what Madeline Ash writes next.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 2nd book in a series, and I felt I had missed the prologue of something. I haven't read the first one so maybe it's a continuation. I am still not sure why Carrie's sister wants her picture on the side of a building painted any why she would agree. This was a sort of reverse of your typical romance which made it interesting. She's the workaholic and is a billionaire and is 7 years older and he is the talented, misunderstood artist. It seemed to me she was.always apologizing to him. I just couldn't get into this not sure why. I didn't connect. I wanted to like them but for a powerful, talented woman she was extremely insecure. I rate this a 3.

This book was intriguing and surprising. However, it took some trying to figure out what was going on in the beginning. After that though, the book had many facets and was enjoyable to read.

Reading an Ash book is like sensory magic wrapped in a romance novel. He's an artist, free with his love and emotions. She's a ruthless investor, closed off and lonely. Their dynamic is breathtaking and special but also sad. He's the sort of person with loads of self confidence. However she's timid with love and her emotions, more of what we expect from men. It's a bit of a role reversal. I instantly fell in love with them my heart went where they went, breaking and healing. Always a great thrill to receive an early copy through Netgalley, my review was written voluntarily.

Second in Madeline Ash’s Morgan Sisters series, His Billionaire Bride is contemporary romance at its very best. I can’t recall the last time I fell so far into a story. This book is elegantly written, sensual, emotional and utterly engrossing.
I loved that the story neatly reversed the billionaire trope so that heroine Carrie Morgan, a fierce warrior princess with a hidden vulnerability, is the one with the power and the money and all the trappings of success while her glorious hero Edwin Prince is an artist and a student. I love that despite the disparity in their outward stations in life Edwin is strong enough to see that it’s just window dressing. He’s willing to fight for what he believes he deserves.
Carrie’s story is about her choice to live rather than to merely exist though she has to face her fears in order to achieve what she really wants, “Being alone was her second choice. A forced decision sprung from the traumatic failure of her first choice—love.”
I loved the writing. It reaches out and makes you feel what the characters are feeling — Carrie gently being eased into sleep in Edwin’s studio, “Comforting sounds that joined with the smell of Edwin to scoop her up into the soft hands of sleep,” the way Edwin makes her feel that she belongs, “His closeness was like stepping into the right place after a lifetime of wrong turns.”
There is so much to love about this story it is hard to know where to start. The plot flows beautifully, the characters are real people with real wounds, hopes and dreams. Edwin’s art is utterly breathtaking, and Carrie’s strength and focus in her business world is mind blowing yet these two people have vulnerabilities that drive them apart and then back together. This story is a keeper.

Uniquely original and beautifully written. I couldn’t get enough of Carrie and Edwin.

Carrie and Edwin were as different as night and day. Together, they had a love so strong, everyone around them could feel it. Carrie was afraid to love because she feared losing someone, so she put a time limit on relationships. Edwin just wanted someone to love forever. He was done with temporary relationships. When Carrie’s sister hires Edwin to paint a bride on the side of her building, she wants Carrie to be the model. Carrie refuses to wear a wedding dress, but Edwin had a way of convincing her to do it. There was just something about him that could make anyone relax and let down their guard. From there, the romance builds and it was heartbreaking knowing it would end after only two weeks. I couldn’t wait to see how the author would turn the story around and give them a happily ever after.

This book was so good, I wasn’t ready for it to end, but I was happy to see Carrie and Edwin come together. I wasn’t sure what to think when Edwin’s secret came out, but it added a lot more depth to the story. At the end, I couldn’t help but get emotional. It was like watching a scene in a movie that you need a big box of tissue just to get through it. This book is the second in the Morgan Sisters series and can be read on its own, but I would recommend reading The Wedding Obsession first so you an get a good feel for the sisters. Plus, Emmie’s story is really good too.

This was a creatively written romance novel. Carrie is a business woman infactuated with a young artist who convinces her to pose for a painting in a wedding dress. She craves the intimacy his presence provides but is afraid to trust him with her heart. He feels the same attraction and paints her in sessions that are both sensual and intimate. Well written and entertaining.

Carrie Morgan is a brilliant businesswoman, but she hesitates when it comes to Edwin. She is so used to battling every obstacle that gets in her way, that she is unsure how to deal with any possible commitment. When Edwin Prince asks her to sit for a portrait, she hesitates and only agrees to pacify her sister. When she has to sit for Edwin, she soon finds herself falling in love but confused by her feelings for him. Edwin has fantasised about Carrie and soon realises when he spends time with her, that theirs is the perfect connection. An interesting story with the emotions running high throughout. I particularly enjoyed Edwin’s character and gradually began to appreciate Carrie’s character. By the end, I was interested to see how both of them would resolve their personal issues to give love a chance.

He wants to take a chance on love and she is too afraid due to her past experiences. Edwin is a young artist booked to paint a portrait of Carrie who is a workaholic. Their connection is profound but Carrie is walled off with a shield around her heart. She sets a time limit to their relationship but Edwin wants more and believes that he is the man for her. Will she lose him because of her insecurity or will she figure it out in time? I voluntarily agree to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

The Billionaire Bride is the second book in this series. I recommend reading the first book in the Morgan Sisters’ series. There are many characters that will touch your heart. I loved reading the story of Carrie and Edwin.

3.5 Oh the lovely wooing which happens in this book. You have a strong, capable businesswoman who finds herself sitting for a portrait in a wedding gown, no less. The irony of the dress is not lost on her for she has had too many ridiculous and disappointing romantic experiences. In fact, she has shut down that part of her heart and mind.

The artist who is going to paint her is like nothing she has ever experienced. He is light, friendly and easily considered charming. The portrait is important to him and his career and takes this commission seriously.

What happens next is a type of dance...a sensual game of flirting, teasing and actually sharing parts of themselves long before there is anything relating to a relationship. This man opens this woman to the idea of more and letting her walls down.

When I first looked at this book and requested it, I was hundred percent sure it’d be one of those Billionaire Apha Heroes books and the heroine would either be in their debt or charmed by their Casanova masks, lol but what a surprise!

Such a reclusive hero, I’ve never read anything like Edwin’s character before. Beta hero written perfectly.

And Carrie is the epitome of a feminist.

This book is relatable and well-written, I’ll definitively read more Madeline Ash for sure.

Are you ready to take a chance? Carrie Morgan has plenty of money but she isn't really happy with her life. Her whole life revolves around her work and being the best. So when she meets Edwin Prince sometimes changes but she is scared as she never really lets anyone in and he wants her for longer than she is comfortable. Edwin knows that he can make Carrie happy and he isn't happy when she gives him a time limit. He wants more from her than just a quick affair where he gets to see her when she sits for her painting and when she is available but he agrees to her terms. Carrie realizes too late that she is falling for Edwin and that she is scared that he will walk away and not give her a chance. What can she do to convince him that she is ready? Can Edwin take that chance as he has been hurt before but this is different with Carrie he could land up getting his heartbroken? Will they both be able to figure it out or will their time be over before they know it? A good read. I feel like I need a break before I write this review. I’ve just finished reading and this book seared me. It slowly tore pieces and pieces of my heart away – gifted freely for only the promise of more. I absolutely adored this!

Seldom when reading a book do I feel the urge to stop and go back. To re-read the past page just because…especially because. The moments between Edwin and Carrie felt too real in some sense. I had to go back and linger on them. To fully appreciate the slow and agonising joy that is this book. That may not sound like it makes a whole lot of sense, but it does.

This story follows a highly successfully businesswoman, Carrie Morgan. Carrie’s inability to emotionally connect has created distance between her and everyone else – including the family who accept and love her for who she is. As a result, Carrie’s commitment to her work overrides everything else. The balance between her work and home life is non-existent. Despite this, Carrie secretly longs to have someone there to fill in the loneliness that’s created a crater of absence in her life.

“She was no longer just existing outside of her job. She was living. Talking, feeling, looking forward to him. She’d walked in to this expecting her fantasy to dissolve. Instead, she had come face to face with her perfect man.”

In comes Edwin Prince. Just the name alone should clue you in. He truly glows in personality and spirit. Edwin’s persuasion and fine art skills are put to the test when he convinces Carrie to sit for a portrait wearing a wedding dress. Carrie is the bride that’s never meant to be. What really drew me in to the story was Edwin’s endearingly paradoxical and irresistible personality. The utter charm, respect and abashed confidence of Edwin stole my heart completely.

“Hesitant on second, bold the next. There was no predicting him. He’d struggled to meet her gaze the day before. Blushed when taken by surprise – a reaction so endearing it hurt. But his agile confidence had him resuming control.”

The contrasting personalities between Carrie and Edwin were charming to witness. Amidst witty comments, sarcastic remarks and Edwin’s adoring blushes, this story painted the perfect picture of how opposites attract. Especially in age, wealth, sociability and confidence. Edwin and Carrie didn’t just attract one another, they also helped each other grow. They both became happier and more confident in themselves as a result of their relationship. That’s something I love to see in romances. Emotional growth as well as personal growth is addictive for me.

“You are my favourite, Carrie. Of anything and everything.”

I wasn’t going in to this book expecting more than a well-written story and a satisfying happily ever after. What I received was so much more. This is by far my favourite book of 2019, and I doubt that it will be replaced in the time between now and New Year’s. It’s eclipsed the rest and I genuinely hope that other readers enjoy this as much as I have. It deserves it.

I received a Digital Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Admittedly, I don't read a lot of romance novels but I was intrigued by the premise of this one. His Billionaire Bride tells the story of Carrie, a closed-off workaholic, and Edwin, a young painter who is painting a portrait of Carrie.

I had a lot of issues with this book. The characters were flat and all had the same voice. The majority of the dialog was cringey. The plot was... flimsy, at best. Carrie is a workaholic Important Business Person but there seems to be little there to back it up and is there as an excuse for her to be Super Rich. In addition, the novel takes place in the US (California) but there are multiple phrases and lines that really gives it away that the author is not from the US, which took me out of the story each time I noticed it.

I appreciated that this book had a lot of representation, though. One of the side characters is in a wheelchair and another character is a bisexual man, something that is so rarely seen.

Overall, this novel is not my favorite but it wasn't terrible. I was in the mood for something light and fun and it delivered but I wouldn't re-read it.
