Would Like to Meet was so fun - I inhaled this book. Evie has always wanted to be a screenwriter, but instead she works as an agent's assistant, helping others with their scripts. When she's tasked with helping an arrogant Oscar winner write a romantic comedy, she decides to start acting out meet cutes from movies in order to inspire him to get the script done. I could see where this book was headed from a mile away, but I think that was the point - we know what's going to happen but Evie doesn't, so the reader is worrying and telling her to open her eyes. One thing that was great about this book was Evie's relationship with her friends - they are wonderful and supportive, but don't hesitate to call her out. And Evie can be a terrible friend, but at least she is willing to acknowledge that and apologize. I don't want to give away the plot, but I also loved her relationships with the other characters, who were all really well developed, especially Anette, who she meets after a disastrous meet cute. The situations she finds herself in frequently made me cackle, especially the book club she crashes. It was a little slapstick-y at times and I found parts of the end unrealistic, but overall it was just what I needed. Recommended!!
