Having been given access to this sample I have looked up information on the gut doctor and visited her website. She seems to have some interesting advice on gut health but a lot of what is in the sample is pretty common knowledge and really just common sense. It is a shame that the sample does not give access to the worksheets as it would be interesting to see if they do give any useful insights but, from what I have seen, this book isn’t telling me anything that I didn’t already know.

I have an interest in gut health, particularly the gut-brain axis, as it’s something that affects my husband quite a lot. He’s always had an easily affected stomach, but last year a combination of working nights, the resultant bad diet and increased stress levels saw him actually hospitalised briefly. Since then, we’ve been making an active effort to look after our gut health better.

With all the emerging evidence that gut health is linked to the health of much of the rest of our bodies - from our immune system to our mental health - looking after our microbiota is becoming increasingly in vogue, with lots of conflicting and confusing information available.

At its heart, Dr Megan Rossi’s advice is about eating a more plant based diet, managing sleep and stress and getting some exercise. While this is nothing we haven’t heard from every health guru ever, Rossi’s gentle presentation of the information, along with her medical credentials, make this book both easy to digest (haha) and confidence inspiring on a scientific front.

The sampler that was provided for this review gave a taste of the information and the recipes. My pet peeve with healthy recipe books is when the ingredients are the kind that you could probably only source in a health food shop in London, but Rossi explains what any unfamiliar ingredients are and suggests that they are readily available from online retailers.

Overall, I’m intrigued to read the full version of this. For the health conscious out there, this could be an interesting read and recipe book to add to your collection.

Super insightful, full of useful information. Excited to see what the full book entails - some tasty recipes in here!

Covers just the basics of the complex topic of gut health and mainly.consists of recipes. More conprehensive/ useful guides are out there and would be recommended over this one.

This is a sample of the actual book and so doesn't contain the entire contents.

However it still makes for an interesting read and having become more 'gut' conscious due to recent health issues I will certainly take some of the feedback on board.

Many thanks to the publisher for allowing me to take a look.

An informative sampler of an healthy diet book focusing on gut health. The author points out that each gut is unique and to this effect the generalisations following were probably null and void. Some interesting information though and probably some good practices to put into action but it is also fairly similar in certain sections to other books. The recipes included in the sample were interesting but would involve getting some ingredients in specifically, Teff Grains for instance, not all of us live near a town with health food shops so it would have been helpful to have easily obtained alternatives especially when one is eating fresh seasonal produce. It seems to be another vegetarian based book although not the trend of vegan and advocates fresh food freshly prepared which is a good message to put out.

I was hoping for a bit more detailed information from this book, but it was a bit like reading a magazine and everything was at a really high level. Considering each gut is unique it would be hard to build your own program from this book. Lots of beautiful pictures of the author, but I felt the book needed a bit more substance. Wasn't too keen on the sample recipes either but hopefully the full book will have something better in.

This is an OK book, some of the information I found interesting, I can definitely put it into practice but the actual recipes (although tasty sounding) weren't really aimed at families which is what I needed.

Not sure whether you'd be able to eat yourself healthy with just this book but it's a good start.

I have followed Dr. Megan Rossi for a while on social media and have listened to podcasts.

As I personally have some health problems and have tried the FODMAP diet,I was so glad to be able to read an extract from her new book!

I found the sample very informative and insightful and can’t wait to read the entire book.
I particularly appreciated the chapter about physical exercise and yoga,as I strongly believe that they are essential for overall wellbeing and gut problems.

I can’t wait to read the rest of the book and try the recipes as well.

As someone who suffers from intolerance to pepper of any sort and with a daughter who suffers from IBS I was intrigued by the title of the book.
I have highlighted several parts already and it will be a file that I will revert to several times.
I would have liked to see the actual book as I think that these books are easier to have in hard copy as opposed to e books.

Thanks for the opportunity to see the sample copy.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC
