This book has adorable ideas and excellent instructions for making some very cute gifts. One thing I would have liked to see is less "cutesy" gifts and some that have a bit more of adult vibe. That said, for the correct recipient these could be perfect gifts and very fun to make

A nice book for the beginner and experienced sewer. All of the projects have clear instructions and photographs to help you. The projects are useful and would appeal to all age groups. The best thing about the book is that all the projects can be completed using small pieces of co-ordinating fabric. Some of the fabric would need to be 'fussy cut' or to explain, cut so that an image is in the centre of the fabric. A sewing machine could be used or hand sewing can be used for part of some of the projects. This is the sort of book I would buy for a present with a couple of fat quarters for any of my sewing friends.

This is a fabulous collection of quilted designs. The instructions are step by step and easy to follow. I am very excited to start on some Christmas gifts. I especially love the Flat Zippered Pouches.
Many thanks to Zakka Workshop, the author, and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

The pictures are beautiful and I selected this book because I wanted the pattern for the cover. However, there are no measurements to make the bag. There are a few measurements for some pieces but not the whole bag. Very disappointed. I glanced at other patterns and the same is true for them. Some measurements for some pieces but not enough to actually make a bag without a physical pattern.

Complimentary copy provided for honest review.

This book has a great collection of sewing patterns for bags and quilts. The photos are colorful and bright which draws you in. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to sew.

This book contains patterns and instructions for purses, pouches, home decorations and a few quilts. The designs & fabrics chosen are what I'd call vintage and girly. Lots of flowers, dresses, frills. This wasn't to my taste and made it more difficult for me to envision the patterns with different fabrics than the ones shown. It might have appealed to a broader audience had there been some variety in the fabrics chosen. The instructions appear detailed and easy to follow, though at times I'd like to see the diagrams fill the page instead of leaving so much white space.

Atsuko Matsuyama's new book, Sew Cute Quilts and Gifts is absolutely delightful. Many of her projects seem best suited for young people or at least the young at heart. Small bags, coin purses, phone totes and more are embellished with bows, scallops, yoyos made from scraps and other sweet adornments, and she often uses fabrics in shades of pink, green and white.

This book will appeal to crafters and sewists who enjoy working on detailed projects with small pieces. I think you'd need some level of skill to get the beautiful results her pictures show. Recommended for enthusiastic quilters.

This book is full of beautiful bags, purses, pouches and quilts. My only problem was deciding which one I would like to make first,,

As a beginner the patterns were well explained and the illustrations and photographs made each project very desirable. With a limited amount of fabric and tools a lot of projects could be within reach.

I would definitely recommend this book to any sewing fans an inspiration book to add to your craft book collection.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for my chance to read this inspirational book.

Some beautiful projects and easy to follow instructions with diagrams and step by step. However, the language is quite formal, not necessarily a bad thing but unusual for these types of book, maybe because of the translations??
I certainly look forward to following a design with this book though

You know it's a great craft ideas book when you just can't wait to try the ideas! As a beginner, I still have a ways to go before I can manage these projects, but the bright, colorful photos and clear illustrations for each idea make it look easy.

When I started thinking about how I was gonna review a craft book, I knew that I couldn’t really review it without trying a project so I could pass on whether the instructions were clear, any issues, and etc. I decided to make the Vintage Panel Drawstring Pouches even though the panel I had wasn’t vintage. The project was quite simple and easy to follow as long as you payed attention to the diagrams she draws for each project. I wish she had gave other ideas for the waxed cord that was used for the drawstring. That was the only time I didn’t follow her instructions exact; I used ribbon instead. She follows the same format for each project. A list of supplies, written instructions, and diagrams.

I loved several projects from this book, and I look forward to making more than just the drawstring pouches. Some of my favorites included the Flat Zipper Pouch made with assorted print scraps. I loved the handle on the Dancing Flowers Purse, but not the flowers so much. The Puffy Pouch was cute and I especially loved the beading on the front. The Fresh & Sweet Framed Mini Quilts made my mind think of great gifts using my embroidery machine designs and the Vintage Panel Play Mat was adorable with the simple dashing and straight line quilting with a hexagon border. There was a solid technique section, stitch guide, and templates for the projects requiring them. Over all the book has fantastic projects and well worth the investment of owning it.

I have two complaints about the book. One is that she doesn’t tell you to iron projects before starting and after certain steps. New sewers forget or don’t realize how important ironing can be to a project. Ironing should be a step in any sewing or quilting project. Two, cutting panels is not always easy. They print out crooked and you have to take time to square them up to make them look good in a project. And since she had panel projects, I think a section on how to cut them accurately would have been a good thing.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this four star book.

While this is truly a CUTE book, it didn't inspire me to do anything. I didn't see any new, unique ideas and the projects seemed very young. Admittedly, that is my personal opinion and tastes, so I am certain it will appeal to others.

Loved this book. There were such cute projects with instructions, pictures and supply lists to get you started. I'm planning to purchase this for my 14yr old for Christmas. I think she could do most of the things in here with some help.

Such a cute book, full of bags, pouches, purses and quilts. Very prettily made with bright coloured fabric and easy patterns, this book would fill the gift wish list of any young child or adult. Changed the colour of the fabrics and a new look can be achieved. There are patterns included and very well illustrated with instructions to fit any skill set.

I am interested in learning how to quilt. I have a group of friends who are quilters who would be happy to help me learn. I am interested more in making bags/hanging quilts than quilts for bedding. This is a great beginner book. I am going to purchase a copy when available to show my friends. The pictures are bright and cheery but I think a different color scheme could be used if the quilter wanted a different look. I like the basic quilting instructions in the back of the book. I really want to tackle the wreath. Thank you for allowing me to review an advanced copy.

This is such a cute book. I love all of the ideas in here. I have not done much quilting but am an experienced sewer. I am always looking for things to do with my scraps (because I am a hoarder of craft supplies and cant throw anything away) and this entire book has perfect scrap size projects. I would recommend this to my friends that sew!
