I loved this second chance romance!

Beautifully written. A great conclusion to The One's That Got Away series!

I'd been waiting for Kincaid's story and wasn't sure who would be her love interest. I wasn't expecting a second chance/childhood crush romance, and let me tell you, Roni Loren got me right in the feels.

Ashton Isaacs secret love for his best friend, Kincaid, the girl who has always seen him as a brother, is so heartbreaking. In a good way! Immediately, I was 100% invested in his HEA, which is funny because Kincaid was the character I couldn't wait to know more about while reading the previous books in the series. It took one single chapter for me to fall in love with Ashton Isaacs.

It's quite the winding road to the HEA, but I loved it.

The One For You like the previous books was an emotional one. I've been waiting for Kincaid's book and so happy that it was well worth the wait. Hers was a story of secrets and lies but most importantly love and the many forms in which it takes. I loved Kincaid and Ash, they were the perfect complement to each other. I loved their journey, it wasn't easy, it was far from pretty but it was beautiful. I truly enjoyed this book and series and highly recommend to all.

This series finale was my favorite of the entire series, which makes sense because Kincaid is my favorite character and this is finally her book!

Kincaid is pretty positive she’s too much and is never going to find her one true love because her high school sweetheart was one of the individuals who died during the Long Acre prom night horror. But her estranged best friend is back in town and they’re thrown together and wow, that chemistry!

I think this book is not going to be for everyone though. For one thing, Ashton was in love with Kincaid all through high school. For another, Kincaid’s high school boyfriend that she thinks was amazing, was actually not amazing. Ashton, however, knows some more and therefore, so do we as readers. Also, there’s a line where “spirit animal” is used and it shouldn’t have been.

But ultimately, my love for Kincaid prevailed. She is not too much, she is perfect and I love her the most. I think the way she and Ashton have their communication issues and successes was really relatable and felt grounded in reality. I also really liked Kincaid and Ashton together. They make sense, which is a thing I often feel about friends to lovers, but it's true! Anyway, despite the things that are YMMV and one negative (though keep in mind I read the ARC), I really loved this one and think it's easily the best of the series.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book early!

I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review.

I read the first story in this series a while ago and it’s stayed with me. It’s a unique premise for a series in this genre and handled with grace and sensitivity.

Kincaid and Ash are fully fledged, damaged characters who are perfect for each other. It was a pleasure that was hard to put down to follow them as they dealt with their shared and individual baggage.

Roni Loren writes great characters in the aftermath of an unbearable tragedy without any melodrama or trite cliches. She’s certainly an author I will seek out in future.

Roni Loren has a way of shattering your heart then slowly putting it back together again page by page. This series has been both addictive and an emotional rollercoaster. What a send of fir all the characters. Would definitely recommend.

Mass shootings occur on almost a daily basis nowadays. I have often wondered what happens to those who survive and how they manage to overcome such a horrific experience in their lives. Roni Loren has managed to take four women who survived such a terrible life experience, each with their own demons to get rid of and come back even stronger. This is Kincaid’s book and how she deals with the events in the past and present. When her best friend from high school, Ash returns, they discover the deep dark secrets they both been hiding. While reading Kincaid's story, I wondered if I would be as strong as Kincaid was. It is bittersweet that this series is now complete and can’t wait to see what is next from the author.

I am sad to see this series end but I am really happy with how everything is tied up. Actual tears were shed reading the epilogue. This is a hard series to recommend because as soon as you say school shooting most people seem to stop listening but Loren writes about grief and survival so thoughtfully in each of these books. I was a fan of hers before this series but after it I am ride or die. No matter what she writes next, I will read it.

Really enjoyable finale in this contemporary romance series! I really enjoyed the development of these friends and how tragedy can change a relationship! Kincaid’s struggles and Ash’s issues with family and regret permeates throughout and really gives depth to this emotional series. If you are new to this series start with the first one but if not I definitely recommend picking this up!

This series by Roni Loren is certainly for us, romance lovers! Her books are heartwarming and unforgettable! I cannot believe that this series is coming to an end and I am so excited I gave a chance to an author I did not know, because I loved these books. The One For You is a friends to lovers story that is emotional and sweet.

Kincaid is the last girl who is given a second chance at love and life. Kincaid has survived the shooting in her school but she has never gotten over the death of her then boyfriend. She craves for love and a family that is there for her but she is scared to move on.

Ash has promised himself never to return to the place where so many people died, but life has other plans. Now he is back and he does not know how to face the girl of his dreams. Kincaid still sees him as her friend but Ash cannot let the love of his life go for the second time.

Ash and Kincaid do not start with an easy relationship after their reunion. Kincaid is hurt and angry at him because he left her and Ash has some secrets that can destroy her. Slowly, they patch up things and they agree to become friends with benefits. It is not though as easy it seems as their feelings get deeper and their love grows.

Kincaid always seemed as the funny girl of their group but her reality is different. She is lonely, closed off and reserved. She does not trust to love again and her sunny personality is a front. I liked her smart attitude and her humor. Ash is a man in love. His feelings are so romantic but I have to admit that you feel a little sorry for him. Kincaid has put at pedestal her first boyfriend and sometimes you feel that Ash gets second place. Nonetheless, they are good to each other and I love that their friendship tranformed into a nice relationship.

You cannot go wrong with this series! It’s always amazing seeing women supporting each other and each and every one of these friends have a great love story that you have to read!

Oh my gosh this was so cute! I'm sad that I haven't read the previous books in this series! But, on to the other books I go!! :)

Roni Loren is quite the master of story telling my friends. I have been getting into many romance novels lately and am so impressed by her writing style. The content was a little hard due to the shootings... and unfortunately we have so many shootings going on right now :(.

I am really interested to go back and see how each character deals with the aftermath of the shooting. I definitely recommend this series if you're a fan of romance!

I am definitely on board with Roni and am so excited to see what she comes out with next!!

Huge thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

THE ONE FOR YOU was a strong finale to this series that I have enjoyed overall. For me, this final book was as enjoyable as the first book, my other favourite in the series. It has been good to see completion of all the characters from Long Acre and catch up on those from previous books.

This story took some getting into for me. I liked the storyline immediately, both the characters of Kincaid (who I’ve liked from the other books) and Ash were engaging but I found the pacing off initially. It picked up some speed of execution around the 30% mark and then I didn’t look back.

Kincaid have both a second chance and friends to more thing going on. Both these elements were complicated, their friendship however was lovely and that was their safe place. I enjoyed the slow build of chemistry and how these two came together. However, all elements of their relationship remained complex.

Ash was a bit of a contradiction in characteristics at times which was fun. On the one hand, supporter, passive and on the other, ready to punch someone in defence of Kincaid and dominant in other ways. He felt unpredictable and I liked that. The story of these two had a predictable feel but it didn’t stop my enjoyment. However, we did get some twists from the past that I didn’t see coming and found pretty jaw dropping. There were some lose ends to parts of this story that I wanted a bit more of like Ash’s parents.

The full circle of this story and the four books was like finishing a long journey. I was pleased to get to the destination but I enjoyed the scenary along the way. I’ve enjoyed the topic of a high school shooting affecting people in the long term as a back drop to this series, it’s felt pretty unique in the genre.

Thank you to Sourcebooks for the early review copy.

I stayed up until 3 am because I was not going to be able to put this book down without finishing it. I'd previously read Loren's first three books in the The Ones Who Got Away series and gave them high ratings on Goodreads (2 five star and 1 four star). I think this was the best of the series. I enjoyed how both characters were from Long Acre. (This was the thing lacking from book #2.) Throughout the series, I liked the characters' back stories. All around this was a really great series and definitely ended on a high note. I will be recommending it at my library.

This book was so sweet. I really adored the hero and heroine. They had such great, relatable personalities. I loved how vibrant the heroine was and how the hero was a perfect counterpart. It always amazes me how such a tragic story can be turned into a meaningful relationship. I would have liked to see more of the B&B renovation but the epilogue was a nice way to show what it turned into. I'm sad to see this series end but happy with how it did

This was a great ending to a series that was extremely surprising. I randomly picked up Olivia and Finn's book a while back and it blew me away when I was expecting boring, rote, contemporary romance, and each book has lived up to the next. The One for You is Kincaid's long awaited story, and as a perfect friend and amazing matchmaker/supporter, I was really looking forward to her story. It didn't play out the way I thought it was going to - Kincaid and Graham's love story, and Kincaid being caught up in the hero-rememberance that she has of Graham was surprising. Ash and Kincaid's switch from enemies, back to friends, back to lovers was really beautiful to watch - their friendship is probably my favorite part of their whole book. Kincaid needed to feel loved and supported and she didn't know that she had that all along. Overall, I really enjoyed this series and this was a perfect ending.

I was provided with an ARC of this title from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

After the tragedy that destroyed her town, Kincaid stayed to pick up the pieces. Ashton left like the hounds of hell were on his heels. Their friendship died that morning, after an encounter that left them both reeling.

But now they've been asked to work together to modernize the town bookstore. Ash has steamy visions in the stacks, and Kincaid can't stop looking at a body that should not belong to a nerdy hipster. Their innocence was shattered over ten years ago, but the history between them is the whale in the room neither one can acknowledge or forget.

Until they kiss. And it's like the entire forest is up in flames. There are so many secrets between them, and so many reasons they should keep their hands to themselves. But it's an exercise in futility - and why not seize each day to the fullest?

This was a wonderful love story about two best friends finding their way home to one another.

Ash Isaacs and Kincaid Breslin were childhood best friends who both had a love for reading, and ended up working at the same bookstore in town during high school. While Kincaid had her sights set on the popular and hot Graham, Ash hopelessly loved his best friend from afar.

But 14-years ago, Long Acre was struck by tragedy when during Ash and Kincaid’s high school prom, two students opened fire. The school shooting not only took Graham away from Kincaid, but it ultimately decimated Ash and Kincaid’s tight-knit friendship too. After high school, Ash left Long Acre to become a writer, while Kincaid stayed behind.

Now Ash is a published thriller author living in NYC. But after his fiancée dumped him for another man, he decided to come back to Long Acre. Kincaid never left her hometown and now is a successful real estate agent. And Kincaid’s more than a little surprised to see Ash back in town, especially since they didn’t keep touch over the years.

The older couple who own the beloved bookstore that’s near and dear to Ash and Kincaid’s hearts are planning on selling. And they’ve asked Ash and Kincaid to fix it up, getting it ready to go on the market. So the two of them put their differences aside and agree to being friends again. But after over a decade of being apart, being back together is shedding new light on feelings Kincaid never knew she had for Ash. And Ash is forced to face to feelings that never went away...

The One for You by Roni Loren is the final book in her poignant, emotional The Ones Who Got Away series. The star is this book by far was Ash. He suffered from unrequited love and time and time again sacrificed himself for Kincaid’s happiness. It took a while for me to understand Kincaid’s character, as I found her fairly unlikable for the majority of the book. Nonetheless, I’ve loved every book in this series and now consider Roni Loren one of my favorite romance authors. I loved how this was not only a friends-to-lovers romance but due to their falling out, their was a little enemies-to-lovers thrown in. 4/5 stars.

Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Roni Loren for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The One for You is my favorite Roni Loren to date. Fans of this emotional series will be thrilled with this one.

Reading this series is always a bit rough for me. School shooting are too real, too serious, and what does it say about our country that every time one of these books comes out, another school shooting has just happened. But Roni Loren manages to take something horrible and make a beautiful story out of it.

I'm not always a huge fan of books that rely heavily on flashbacks, but it worked here. I still preferred the parts taking place in present times, but I didn't mind the flashbacks, and I thought they provided some useful insight into the characters.

The story was a good mix of friends-to-lovers and enemies-to-lovers as these two have a LOT of shared, sordid history between them. There was a tension, a dynamic there that I really liked, and the chemistry between the two MCs was so thick it jumped off the page.

The story was long but really well plotted. I stayed up really late (2:00 am!) to finish. I just wanted to read one more page, but then I needed to see how things would turn out. I liked how both characters had their flaws, but the story didn't rely on silly misunderstandings or easy plot points to propel it forward.

A powerful story that doesn't delve too deep into sadness, I think The One for You is Roni Loren's best romance yet.

Roni Loren has such an amazing way of writing. I have enjoyed everything that I have read from her thus far.

The One for You is the 4th book in The Ones Who Got Away series. I have loved this series, but I think this one was my favorite. I love the friends to lovers genre and Kincaid deserved a HEA (happily ever after) for sure!!

I can't wait to read more in this series and from this author.

Each book in this series is better than the last. I have loved each one and am sad to be saying goodbye to these characters. It not only delivers excellent romance content and lovable characters, but it tackled a seriously difficult but also all too common issue of school shootings. Kincaid is always the cheerleader for all of her friends and their victories and love, but never saw herself getting the same things. It was so nice to watch her unfold more and get what she deserved and wake up from this "only one soulmate that has now been lost forever" crap. As usual, the characters could be frustrating at times, but all in all, it was a lovely conclusion to an excellent book series.
