Sully Raine's search for his birth mother takes him to the town of Blessings, Georgia where he's in the right place to watch an accident happen and then rescue a woman trapped in her car. As it turns out the woman is Melissa his high school girlfriend that he's never forgotten. Welcome to Blessings Georgia and a wonderful story of so many second chances.
While settling his parent's estate Sully discovered that he'd been adopted. Nothing would serve for this retired fireman than to find his birth mother. Following leads he finally finds his way to Blessing's Georgia. Now that he's rescued and discovered his high school girl friend Melissa he decides to stay a while even if he can't find his birth mother in the town. Against the backdrop of small town Americana not only do Sully and Melissa rediscover each other but there are possible clues to the fact that Sully reminds some of the townspeople of someone not that the author lets her readers into that secret until close to the end.
There's an interesting paranormal twist that definitely will stretch your imagination as a psychic artist guide not only paints Sully a picture of his birth father but also gives him clues that both parents are alive. Masterfully all the threads are pulled together to deliver not just one but two second chance romances.
In today's atmosphere of hate and divisiveness the town of Blessings is a refreshing mix of good people who genuinely care about other people and go out of their way to help out. The story is definitely a glass half full sweet tale of romance viewed through rose colored glasses but it works and is a solid entry in this series.

This is the first book I have read of Sharon Sala's and going into a series at book #9 may not have been the best. You don't have to read the previous books to really understand this story but would be great for backgrounds on other characters and the town itself.
This was a little too "hunky dory" for me. I liked it but didn't love it.
If you are wanting to read something light and where everything works out perfect, with a big smile on everyone's face, then this is the book for you. Sometimes you need a story like this.
There was one arc in the story line that I felt was ridiculous and didn't need to be there.

Sully's parents had died and he found out he was adopted. That answered all of his questions why he didn't look like his parents. So he sets out to find his birth parents. He ends up in Blessings, Georgia. While there a tragedy happens and he ends up seeing his childhood sweetheart, who hadn't seen since she moved away when they were teens. As they get to know each other he realizes he still has feelings for her. Meanwhile he is still trying to find his mother and seems to hit a dead end. This book hit so many emotions and I couldn't put it down. This town is one you will want to visit and get to know everyone that lives there.
Thank you to Casablanca and NetGalley for an ARC to review.

Another story about Blessings Georgia. This one though was a little more personal for me though. Sully Rains finds out after his parents pass on that he was adopted. Now with so many questions, he begins his search which leads him to a cousin who helps him along the way and he ends up in Blessings.
When he arrives though he sees a crash and his training comes in. he has retired as a Kanas City firefighter, he rescues the women trapped in her car before it explodes. With injuries to himself, he is at the same hospital as the woman and she recognizes the voice. Turns out that they grew up together. Finding Melissa his first love and each their first kiss is an added bonus.
Now with her hearing his story along with a few others, everyone is wanting him to find his birth mother. With this story, there are a few twists with other parts from some of the other books. He is still searching for his birth mother with only the necklace that was left with the information that was left with the information about his adoption. This necklace would be the proof and help for his search. A very good story and brought back some memories of my self-looking for my own birth mother years ago. Though I always knew I was adopted it was still a search for me and this story for me really hit home. Overall a very good story with a few surprises. Though I was surprised by the ending I was also happy.

A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This is a very touching story of struggles that are written so realist it happens so often. It was easy to follow along finding how Sully, Melissa, Lovey, and Marc all took paths that made them who they are today. It is a standalone read but a series to wrap around the small town of Blessings.

Blessings is a heartwarming series I don't want to miss

I love going back to this town where people are nice to each other and they can help someone in need without a second thought.

This time, newcomer Sully Raines is looking for his birth mother. Sully is a recently retired firefighter who finds out he’s adopted after settling his mother's affairs after she passes away. The only thing he has left from his birth mother is a necklace. Sully knows he has never placed any real roots anywhere. Married once but it didn’t last. He feels like something is missing in his life. Finding his birth mother feels like the right thing to do. Of course, the search is not easy but the trail takes him down to Blessings, Georgia.

When he arrives in Blessings, he is a witness to a car wreck. Immediately, his firefighter instincts come forward and he pulls a woman from the burning car. In the emergency room, he discovers that the woman he helped in none other than his first love, Melissa. Once they realized who they are to each other, they don’t want to waste any more time and they want to pick up their relationship where they left it many years ago.

For Sully, Blessings will bring many surprises. All good for him.

I adore this series. It has a lot of heart and sweetness. For some, it might be too sweet and everything has a color rose-glass type of view but sometimes, I need this type of story to lift me up.

A great addition to the series. I can’t wait for the next one.

Cliffhanger: No

4/5 Fangs

Blessings, Georgia is my favorite series by Sharon Sala with The Way Back to You becoming another reason as to why this is true. The story does not begin in Blessings so the reader sees the town through the eyes of Sully Raines as he drives into town. His opinions, his perspective and his first impressions are all what made this story a page turner from the beginning. Then I was thrilled to see Missy Dean also receive her own story. How they meet again, nothing short of uniquely believable.

In a style that I can only describe as down to earth, Sully’s search is told. His finding Melissa Dean in Blessings is an added life changing bonus for him. Reading The Way Back to You is like sitting down with a trusted friend who is relating their story to you. Easy to read but also a page turner. I found myself thinking just one more chapter, then just one more chapter; not wanting to put the book down. The kind of book that you love to see how it concludes but also sorry that you have finished reading the book. Now I can’t wait for the next visit to Blessings, Georgia.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

He comes to Blessings and fate steps in again and brings him into the lives of his old girlfriend and son. Sharon Sala's newest book “The Way Back to You” in the Blessings, Georgia series brings together former teenage lovers who fall back in love with each other. A few tenuous moments and a love that never went away. All the while looking for a family you didn't know you had. Finding a home where you least expected it. Fate plays a hand in bringing answers to a man searching for the truth and finding a love thought long lost. An emotionally charged story of family coming together to have your back and finding love when you weren't looking. Blessings, Georgia the town that brings people together through fate and love. Here's hoping the series continues for a long time and more of its citizens find love and happily ever after.

Blessings, Georgia, a town that may be small but is big in heart.  All of the citizens of this town care about each other and look out for one another during times of strife. But overall, this is the kind of town that I wish still existed in our country.  It isn't perfect and there is some crime, but overall it would be a peaceful place to live out my life.

In this book, we meet Sully, a retired firefighter on the search for his biological mother.  He has tracked her down to Blessings but no one seems to recognize his mother's name.  A freak accident spurs Sully into action, saving a woman from a car that explodes, and discovers a childhood sweetheart.  I'm sure you can guess the outcome here, they reconnect and find their way back to each other.  Along the way, Sully discovers who he is and where he wants his life to continue.

All of the books in this series are sweet, like cotton candy, and while for the most part are conflict free, there are some scenes that create that conflict that all books need to have to be multi-dimensional.  There are outcomes that you can see coming, but the ride to that ending is sometimes like a roller coaster with the emotional ups and downs but ending in a satisfying journey.

While all of these books can be read on their own, it is best to start with the first book in this series so you can get to know the citizens of Blessings and celebrate their joys and mourn their losses.

We give this book 5 paws up and I can't imagine what the next book holds for us.

The Way Back to You is a well written romance. I enjoyed the story, characters and the small town of Blessings setting. I received an arc from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.

I love this story and all the folks in Blessing, GA. This is the story of Sully. The story line is great and I love the way it flows. I felt sadness, excitement, fear, and love while I was reading. Blessings is small town at its best and I love small towns. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. I received this book from NetGalley but my opinion is my own.

My heart is filled with joy as I tell you about this small town romance which returns us to Blessings, Georgia. I love this series and this book stays true to the nostalgic, sweet, and often emotional telling.

Sully comes to town in search of his biological mom who gave him up for adoption at birth. He stumbles upon and reconnects with his high school sweetheart, Melissa.

This couple is in their forties and have had previous marriages. Their teenage relationships didn’t come to fruition due to Melissa moving away. I love who they are as people and the journey they take together to find Sully’s mom. During this experience, they rediscover each other as well as their dormant feelings.

Another beautiful piece of this story is all the amazing side characters, some we have met before and some new to this series. I love how it supports the rich stage continually being set in this community. It also offers little side stories that give this read more depth.

I don’t want to retell the story because everyone needs to experience it for themselves but I will say, you get all you questions answered. I was really pleased that no one was villainized with the topic of adoption. That can be such a volatile subject matter and often has a lot of emotion connected to it. All I can say is well done Ms Sala, well done.

If you are looking for extreme angst, this isn’t that kind of read. It a tender, lovely romance. It feels deserving of all 4.5 stars. Happy Reading Everyone!

Love this story! I have been reading this author's books for a long time and I have never been disappointed. Once I started reading this story I could not stop.

I have loved the other Blessings, Georgia books, but this one a little less. The characters were fun and interesting, but things just fell into place a little too easily. It made the whole premise of the book feel fake and rushed to me. There were just WAY too many coincidences for it to feel real. Slightly disappointed. I rarely give 3 stars, but just can't go any higher on this one.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Sharon Sala delivers another wonderful addition to the Blessings series! I have been a fan of this series since The Curl Up and Dye and The Way Back to You is second chance love perfection. If you have been reading the series you know Melissa Dean. She is a woman that has been dealt her share of misfortune over the years. Well as fate would have it her life is going to change in a big way. John Sullivan Raines thought that he knew who he was and what his life was all about. Upon his mother's death he finds out that he was adopted as a baby. Now as a man over 40 he wonders what ever happened to his birth mother? His search leads him to Blessings and back to his childhood sweetheart Melissa. Together these two rediscover each other as well as Sully rediscovering his heritage. This was a lovely story that makes you believe in love. Love for your friends, family and your heart. The Way Back to You was written from multiple POV and will warm your soul.

Sharon Salas’ Blessings, Ga is a place I always enjoy visiting. She writes these books with so much heart and love, and the storylines are so rich that while reading this book, the characters became my good friends. This book delves into first loves, karma and re connection. Sully and Melissa were the sweetest couple, and I so enjoyed Lovey and Marc’s reunion. This is the epitome of small town romance and if that is your thing, this book is for you!

I stumbled upon Sharon Sala’s Blessings series a few month’s back. The fictional town in Georgia, is small town charm at its best. THE WAY BACK TO YOU is a wonderful addition to the collection. Each novel is a continuation of town life, so that we get to keep up with the characters’ we have come to love. This story centers around Sullivan Raines, who learned at 45 years old, that he was adopted. In his search for his birth parents, he comes to Blessings, GA. Sully reconnects with Melissa, who was his girlfriend back in high school. As their relationship grows, they work to unravel the secrets of Sully’s past, and build a future together. This is a heartwarming, sweet novel that you won’t regret reading. Special thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for the ARC.

Review

The Way Back to You is the ninth in the Blessings, Georgia series of standalone romances all tied strongly together by a locale and growing cast of characters.

Sully Raines sets out on a personal journey of the heart that takes him from Kansas City, MO via a roundabout way to Blessings, GA while hunting the birth mother who gave him up as a baby. He is still grappling with the knowledge that he was adopted and the direct lies his parents fed him for years. He isn’t angry or bitter toward either adopted or birth family. He had a good childhood and loved his parents, but is at a loss now that they are dead and gone. Needing to know the answers to his questions, he retires from the fire department and sets out only to arrive in the latest town in time to pull out his emergency responder skills to help save a life. A strong dose of fate has led him to this magical town and the magic of long buried teen love that has become something strong.

Melissa can’t believe that it’s Sully Raines, her teenage crush, who saved her life. The old spark that she thought was a long dead ember has flamed to life and she gladly helps him search for his birth mom even as she hopes she won’t lose him once again when he finds what he’s looking for or gets a new clue to hare off after. For the first time in the decades since her husband’s death, she is open to love and a relationship.

Meanwhile, Blessings, Georgia is never dull for several others in town especially when a pillar of the community gets outed as an alcoholic and new danger with a shady past comes home.

This series seems to have a unique effect on me. It has a nostalgic, modern magical quality to it that makes me notice, but not care that if these situations happened in life, they could rarely result the way they do. This hunt for a birth family and answers and the running into a first teen love were as low angst and devoid of conflict as it can get. It’s not that there isn’t any conflict in the story. The conflict is external to the person and their relationships so it ends up with tension, but not much angst. This is just my need at times and I think that’s why it hits my happy reading spot so well. It felt like a heartwarming holiday read without the holiday.

After that, I’m sure I hinted enough that you know I adored Sully and Melissa and cheered him on to find his mother and cheered them to a relationship where he could stay in Blessings with Melissa. Sully and Melissa are both in their early forties with one relationship apiece behind them and years to to learn to live alone. Neither really carry baggage so much as just have been content to wait until its the right person or to go along relying on friends to fill the loneliness. That said, Sully and Melissa have both buried their parents and have no siblings so the yearning for family and connection is what drives him in particular to search out those who are left and each other. There is an immediate attraction and a return to the ease of their childhood friendship that builds into something more rather quickly. Now, its just an issue of putting the heart out there when Sully isn’t sure what he’ll do next.

Beyond their stories are the stories of a new widow who learns that her friends were not really friends, Lovey who is trying to get back on her feet after the hurricane nearly killed her and destroyed her house, an escaped convict, and a mysterious woman new to town. The big mystery of who in Blessings is Sully’s mother wasn’t that big of a mystery and probably wasn’t meant to be. The backstory was so heartbreaking that I found it easy to understand how it all came to be. That late new character addition and his story might have been a bit over the top on coincidence and fate, but it sure had my happy cup overflowing.

It was fun to see Elliot, the town recluse, sometimes psychic, and brilliant artist get more page time. He was so quirky. I hope to see more of him. But, the other fun part is when many of the former characters cameo or are strong secondary characters in the latest story so I can keep up on their lives. The mystery of who took over ownership and reopened the grocery store and also who our secretive red-headed backpacker is will carry over to the next book.

All in all, this gently-paced, rich in the good feels, sweet with a pinch of spice small town romance was just the thing and I can heartily recommend the series to those who enjoy that style of contemporary romance.

My thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
