I enjoyed this book. It was a fun concept and I felt a strong attachment to Rebecca almost straight away.

It was pretty predictable for the most part, except for a little twist I won’t give away.

It was light hearted and the writing style was really free flowing and easy to read.

I am happy for the ending and I would love a sequel!!

I've given this book three stars but that doesn't mean it was a bad read. I just felt it was a little too predictable and perhaps has been done a little too much - I am all for a cliche but this book felt riddled with them. It was perfectly witty, a very light read and something that would be great while on holiday.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I’ve read by Jennifer Joyce and it certainly won’t be my last. Such a lovely story that had me gripped from the start, with a few twists and turns along the way.

The book begins with our heroine Rebecca who is trying to step out of a PA role and into events management (something she is qualified to do). Although her boss Vanessa has other ideas and Rebecca is instead sent to project manage a house renovation.

As the title suggests, Rebecca inadvertently takes on the persona of Vanessa after being wrongly identified. Trying to earn her place within the company, Rebecca does everything within her power to get the house finished on time. While maintaining the lie, Rebecca is caught up in deceit and dishonesty which is made even more difficult when she makes real friends and falls for local hottie Oliver.

I really enjoyed this book as it really highlighted how being yourself is always the best choice. A great story of self discovery, friendship and romance. 4/5

Rebecca Riley is a personal assistant to Vanessa who owns an event planning business. Although Rebecca has a degree in events planning she is seen more of a dogs body sent to get the coffees and file paperwork.

On the morning Rebecca was about to give Vanessa a folder full of her ideas for an upcoming event, Vanessa has something she needs her to do. She is currently having a weekend home renovated out in the countryside and needs someone onsite project managing and to make sure that the work doesn’t overrun as she has already sent out house warming invitations.

Rebecca knows nothing about project managing but likes to keep Vanessa sweet so she goes. On arrival, the builders mistake her for Vanessa and Rebecca sees it as a chance to be someone different, some ballsy and confident. How long can she get away with people believing she is Vanessa and what will happen to her if the truth comes out?

I just adored The Accidental Life Swap. I found a connection to it straight away as Rebecca lives and works in Manchester (my home town) and there were references to the local area. Rebecca is a lovely young woman who wants to be an events planner but has to settle for being a PA instead. She watches as other people plan events and she knows that she can do them so much better but is afraid to put herself out there.

Once she arrives at Vanessa’s weekend home we see a different side to her, a more confident side. However, Vanessa has been horrible to these builders via email so not only does she have to pretend to be Vanessa she also has to try and make the builders like her.

I haven’t laughed so much at a book for a long time. Jennifer Joyce’s writing is superb. It flows along nicely and has you eager for more. I didn’t want it to end and I would love to see Rebecca again in another book as she is so amazing. The book also features an animal sanctuary and plenty of animals including a donkey who prefers the grass from Vanessa’s lawn rather than her own.

This is the best Rom-Com I've read in awhile And on that note, I'd love to say, Thank you Jennifer Joyce for restoring my faith in romantic comedy!!

I haven't been so interested in Rom-Com in awhile and I totally enjoyed it.

The Accidental Life Swap sounds perfect for the genre with cute cover and equally easy to digest blurb. I didn't expect much when I first started to read it and 4 chapters later I was hooked!

TALS had its hiccup in the middle but then it eventually picked the pace again until the end. I like the resolution and I like how it ends.
I will post a proper review on my blog soon.

I probably didn't fancy how Joyce pitted one woman to another. and that is the only reason I will be giving a solid 4 stars.

Great book. Funny, heart warming and all round good read with a very satisfying ending. Characters are likeable and believable. Keep an eye out for Chow Mein and Franny! A great big cosy hug in a book, light and easy to read. Perfect for an Autumn afternoon.

Thank you Netgalley.

A very enjoyable book, kept me gripped throughout.

Fed up PA gets given a new assignment and ends up pretending to be the boss.

She ends up falling in love and then has to come clean.

Will they forgive her and will they stay together.

Definitely recommend

A cute book, but I couldn't help yelling her to come clean about who she was! However, it was still a good snd it kept me intrigued through to the finish.

This book could have been so funny and witty, but in the end I hated all the silly lies, the slow pacing of the story and was bored really fast. Sure I wanted to know what would happen in the end to Rebecca and the hot guy, but I didn't really care because the story didn't grip me that much.

Who are these people? Has the author even met or spoken to a real person?

Paper thin characters that are stereotypes rather than actual humans. I couldn't relate or bond with any of them, especially Rebecca. She was weak willed and made poor choices. I started to think maybe her boss Vanessa wasn't as bad of a person as Rebecca was describing. It's that old adage, "If everyone around you stinks, maybe it's you who stinks."

As most others have said, this book was quite predictable. However, it WAS quick and easy to read and I did enjoy it enough to continue reading it.

This was a fun quick read. It was predictable, but I didn’t mind that. I recommend this book to any who loves women’s fiction.

This lovely, lighthearted romance is pure escapism. There is humour and pathos, exactly what you want from a romantic comedy. I defy even the hardest heart not to soften at the thought of the three abandoned kittens, Timmy, Tommy and Tammy, being hand fed with milk from a syringe.

Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced reader copy of the Accidental Life Swap.

This was a cute quick read, but everything was very predictable.

A case of mistaken identity and new discoveries.

Rebecca works for an events planning firm as a PA and longs to work her way up as an assistant planner to her boss, Vanessa, who is kind of selfish and rude. Vanessa has a house in the country in the middle of renovation and a deadline for a party upon completion. She tasks Rebecca as the project manager, even though Rebecca has no idea about construction.

Rebecca sees this as an opportunity to show Vanessa what she is capable of accomplishing. But upon arriving, she is mistaken for the demanding Vanessa herself. She plays along as she thinks this is the way to get the workers to their deadline. But what happens when she starts to become closer to those she is lying too?

The books premise is not new, but the location and take on it is new. Was a very easy read (I read it in about a day) and is the type of book you just want to use to escape for a few hours. Perfect beach read, plane ride, or lazy sunday.
