A solid three stars for this romance in a small town. The Accidental Life Swap is a cute story about a Rebecca, a city girl who, through a misunderstanding, assume’s her boss’s name and identity when she is sent to a small town to oversee the construction on her boss’s house. She befriends the locals, develops a crush on one of the builders, and tries her hardest to accomplish her goals without letting in on her secret. What follows is a predictable but enjoyable story that picked up for me about halfway through. A perfect book for the beach or a lazy, rainy day.

A delightful and amusing read which I really enjoyed. I particularly liked the animal characters including the chickens and Franny the donkey.

Well written with lovely cast of characters who are easy to identify with, this is a lovely easy read perfect for a holiday read or cosy sunday afternoon on the sofa.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review

This is a fun little romantic comedy that is an easy read. Vanessa is the owner of her events management company and a take no prisoners boss. Rebecca is her personal assistant and is tasked with being a project manager over a construction project on Vanessa's new country home. Rebecca knows nothing about building anything and when she goes to meet the crew, they mistakenly think she is Vanessa. Rebecca doesn't correct them and goes about acting as she feels Vanessa would. The problem is that the lie starts to weigh her down, especially when she falls for one of the workers. She has to come clean before things spiral out of control.

I thought this was a fast, fun read. The pace was quick and the writing was witty. I really did not like Vanessa, which was probably the point. Rebecca was extremely likeable and I was really pulling for her in the end. I wanted to see everything work out for her. I enjoyed this story and it was a solid 3.5 stars ( rounded up to 4 for the many funny animal incidents ).

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the book to review. This is my honest review.

I generally love a sliding doors, mistaken identity type pf book however this one read a bit flat to me. I was mostly entertained whilst reading it but it felt that something was missing. Perhaps I found the main character difficult to relate to.

I really liked this book! Funny in places with a good message about being yourself and being proud of the fact!

I loved this book. Rebecca seems like me in so many ways. Kind of a pushover and wanting to escape her everyday life once in a while. It was fun reading as she went along pretending to be her boss. This book was full of fun and laughs and I definitely recommend. Thanks NetGalley.

I really enjoyed this book. It follows Rebecca as she accidentally pretends to be her boss Vanessa. She unexpectedly meets people she has a connection with after being in charge of a renovation out in the country for her boss. As expected, Rebecca faces some troubles due to everyone thinking she is actually her bossy employer Vanessa.

I liked all of the characters but I do feel the story was fairly predictable, but it was a nice easy read, and I would recommend it!

This was such a fun book! I mean, yes, OK, the initial "oops" was a little ridiculous, but sometimes when reading a book you just need to let things go. Rebecca's relatable in that she's just trying to get through life the best she can and improve her situation, even though her means is a little unorthodox.

Overall, it's a light-hearted, easy read, which is exactly what I needed. Loved this book!

Rebecca Riley, PA and general dogsbody, a case of mistaken identity and a chance to see if that grass really is greener. A fun and enjoyable romcom/chiclit with heart and an engaging, entertaining read. The premise scenario is rather a predictable one but, nonetheless, it's all good fun and some guaranteed escapism thrown in.

I struggled getting through the first bit; I thought it a bit slow. But once we got into the action, it was a lot of fun with charming characters and a fun story.

When I requested this novel I was into the ideal of reading this novel but shorty after I have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for taking the time to provide me an ARC of this novel.

What do you do when you are mistaken for your powerhouse, demanding boss? Why, you go along with it right!?

The Accidental Life Swap see's Rebecca channel her inner Vanessa when she is mistaken for her boss during a property renovation.

I can completely understand Rebecca's reasoning for going along with the mistaken identity - when you're a bit of a doormat and let the whole world walk all over you, it can seem thrilling and brave to step into someone else's shoes and become an improved version of yourself. But we know these things never really work out, and so Rebecca is faced with trying to keep up the facade both in her work and romantic life.

The Accidental Life Swap is a really interesting story, a little predictable in places but nevertheless enjoyable and perfect for a cosy night in!

I enjoyed this book a lot, very diverting while enduring hurricane and 6 day power outage.

I am unable to post a review on Amazon.com; the book does not show up except as pre-ordering the audiobook coming out in december. I am in Canada but use US kindle. If the problem is on your end (forbidding international buyers or something) perhaps this is important to you. I will check later to see if I can then find the book on kindle..

Thanks to HQ Digital for the ARC!

This was such a fun book to read!! It's kinda like "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "The Holiday", you know? The first half of it was a bit slow for me, but then I finished the other half in just one night. I just couldn't stop it.

I had a love/hate relationship with basically every character in this book, LOL.

I wish I could tell them, "No, don't do that! Noooo. Stop lying. Noooo. Don't go on that date. Stop lying. Nooooooooooooo. Fuck, the land! Oh, no. You're blaming the wrong person. Don't trust her. Noooooooo!!!!!!!"

But I also wanted to tell them good things, which I can't mention here 'cause I don't wanna give any big spoilers. And those good things are the reason why I'm giving it 4 stars. :)

If you're after a sweet, slow burn romance then this book is for you. This was a quick read, that I found really engaging and enjoyable.
I really liked Rebecca as a character and enjoyed watching her grow in confidence as she pretended to be Vanessa. As sweet as the romance between Oliver and Rebecca was this book was mostly about Rebecca changing into a assertive, confident badass. The supportive characters were awesome and Little Heaton is somewhere I would love to visit!
Watching Oliver and Rebecca battle continuously over board games was really entertaining and reminded me of my childhood.
This book was extremely predictable however it was interesting and engaging enough to be a page turner.

Fun, clean Brit chick lit. Writing was nicely done and glad I had a chance to read this from NetGalley. Yes, tropes and stereotypes have been done in various story lines -- city girl try-hard wants to rise up as an creative manager from her lowly PA post (shades of Working Girl), but diva tyrant of a boss is a moody b*tch (Devil Wears Prada), so city girl tries to prove she has the chops... with mistaken identity (pick a Shakespearean identity-switching comedy), ill-equipped to move to the country (Baby Boom), and falls in love with the locals and her self. Mash up these familiars with Shopaholic flair and its an entertaining read.

A very quick and fun read. It’s a romantic comedy with a bit of sarcasm overall.
I enjoyed it as a fun summer read but unfortunately for me it’s not something to be remembered.
There are a lot of lies that makes you wonder why the characters are really using them. It’s understandable for a while but to keep going with them it’s a bit too much and it made me not liking them.
I’ll be reading more by author for sure , it’s just maybe that this book wasn’t for me now

This book was a hilarious British romantic comedy that felt a lot like a Sophie Kinsella novel. The characters were charming and engaging; while the plot was predictable I wanted to see what happened and how. Most romantic comedies are set in the summer or at Christmas, so this was a nice transitional book set in fall- perfect for the first weekend of autumn. There was some language and light sexual content to be aware of before reading if that's not your preference.
