Let it Snow was the perfect cozy holiday read. Set in Nantucket, at Christmas time, Let it Snow centers around toy-shop owner Christina. Christina’s life is forever changed when she catches 8 year-old Wink shoplifting from her store. Suddenly, Christina’s quiet social life is interwoven with the powerful and rich Bittlesman family. Wink’s uncle, Andy, quickly takes a romantic interest in Christina and the quaint island life, which differs so much from his bustling New York world. I really enjoyed the romance between Christina and Andy, but also the love Christina shows for own friends and fellow shop owners. Let is Snow is definitely a holiday romance, but Thayer does an excellent job creating a strong, independent character in Christina. A woman that isn’t afraid to stand up for her friends, her business and her town even if her opponent is her new beau’s family. Let is Snow read like a sweet holiday movie and I enjoyed it from beginning to end!

A sincere thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If this isn’t made into a Hallmark Christmas movie I don’t know what will! In Let it Snow we have Christina who is the owner of a toy store who finds herself on a mission to try to save her store and others after their landlord has decided to raise their rent, many of who cant afford it.

One day she meets Wink, a little girl who she caught stealing but decides to help her out thinking she's a girl who doesn’t have anything or anyone. Little does Christina know that Wink is the granddaughter of her very wealthy landlord and finds out the girl is lashing out due to issues that are going on with her parents. However, Christina felt a connection with Wink and knew all she needed was someone to care and be there for her. In the process, she soon meets Wink’s uncle Andy and like that Christina is a goner. Andy is everything Christina would want in a man but she isn’t sure if she should take her time with him or throw caution to the wind. While they haven’t known each other for that long both can’t help but have feelings for one another but with her issues with his father and her not wanting to think she is using him, all these obstacles are very challenging for their relationship.

This is a very classic story when it comes to a Christmas romance novel, boy meets girl and something is always in the way of their budding romance, and while this one is that way its still very magical and a cozy read. I liked how she was very independent and didn’t want to use their relationship in helping her situation with her store. In the end, I will always be a sucker for a cute romance and throw in the holidays and I’ll buy it every time! So in that way, this is a no brainer if you want something short and fast-paced for the holiday season, definitely a cute romantic read.

This heartwarming tale of a shopkeeper during the Christmas season will get you in the holiday spirit. With a Scrooge of a landlord, a precocious young friend appropriately named Wink, and a new friendship with Wink’s uncle, this Christmas season is more than Christina bargained for! As the holiday season unfolds on the island, it just may be the best Christmas any of them could have imagined.⁣

Really cute sweet story about Nantucket at Christmas time. It really put me in the holiday spirit. The characters were quirky and sweet. It had all of the best things about Christmas in the story line and I found myself picturing the toy shop and the snow and the holiday decorations in Nantucket!

A simple Christmas tale with a plot moppet and a beautiful setting. Who wouldn't want to spend Christmas on Nantucket with a cast of colorful characters and a handsome heir to a local millionaire's fortune? I could practically feel the sea breeze on my face.

This was my first Nancy Thayer book and I was so impressed with her writing. The Nantucket setting made me feel like I was there, shivering in the cold or sitting by a warm fire sipping coffee. Her characters reminded me of people I have met and those who I shared my heart with. I longed to stroll the stores and shops and take in the salty sea air. Let It Snow is a perfect book just in time for Christmas, but also one that can be read at any time in the year.

Thanks to Random House for the opportunity to review this ARC! All opinions are mine.

I love stories set on Cape Cod and this was no exception. Ms Thayer's stories are hit or miss for me, but I can honestly say this is one if my favorites. Her description of the setting for the "shedders". You could imagine the creaking timbers on the wharf and the drafty stores.

The Christmas setting was delightful and the romances a bright light in a dreary winter. Go and read this lovely story to get in the holiday mood!

This book was a hallmark movie on the verge of OD’ng on the sugar. The writing was a little too sweet for my taste and something about the author’s writing style was a little off for me. Maybe it was the short sentences or over explanation in some parts. But if you’re looking for a wholesome romantic story, this is the book for you.

I love a feel-good Hallmark movie. The characters are likable, if a little cheesy. The scenery is always cozy. And the story has just enough drama to keep you interested, but it's nothing too intense or thought-provoking. Nancy Thayer's new novel, "Let It Snow" was a Hallmark movie in literary form.

Although I don't normally like to read Christmas novels "out of season", I read this back in September and couldn't put it down. It immediately got me excited about the holidays. The main character, Christina, was a likable character that you were drawn to from the first chapter. She was kind and warm and a bit vulnerable -- very much like the lead actresses in Hallmark. While some of the other characters were a bit one-dimensional and a tad stereotypical, they complemented Christina very well. Andy was the dashing and polite (and rich) love interest. Harriet was the flighty, superficial friend with a golden heart. Oscar was the cranky, wealthy recluse. And Delia was the snooty foil to the sweet Christina. It all worked.

The story itself had no intense conflict, but instead it simply followed the lives of these Nantucket residents...which provided a wonderful respite from the craziness of our current reality. During the day, I found myself thinking about Christina and Andy's blossoming romance. I fantasized about living in the snowy wonderland of the island. I dreamt about visiting the tiny shops on the wharf.

A book that doesn't leave your mind when you walk away and back into your real life? That's the sign of a successful novel.

Nancy Thayer has put on her Santa writing hat and decorated for Christmas on her beloved island of Nantucket, just in time to bring us, ‘Let It Snow.’ As I love her beach reads, especially this year’s ‘Surfside Sisters,’ nothing can be better than celebrating Christmas with an ocean view.
The small shops out on the wharf, once known as sheds, are gearing up for their brief but profitable Christmas season when they each receive a letter from their landlord, that effective the first of the year, their rents will be raised. While the location of the shops is great, let us not forget, the sheds are in fact, well, old wooden sheds!
Christina Antonioni (don’t get me started on the surname), becomes the Defacto leader of the “Shedders,” to take their case to their landlord, the wealthy Mr. Oscar Bittlesman, since she has befriended his nine year-old granddaughter, ‘Wink’ (aka Winifred Bittlesman), unbeknownst initially, to Christina. It also helps that Christina has started dating Andy, Mr. Bittlesman son. Oh, what to do, thinks Christina. She wants to stand up to her Scrooge of a landlord, but not as Andy’s girlfriend, but with her own intelligence and as a shop owner. On the other hand, she and Andy seem so right together.
Ms. Thayer writes a captivating “rom-com” of the best kind, describing the island at Christmas, everyone waiting for snow, when the magic of the holidays can turn some cold hearts warm and tender. If you read one book this season to put you in the spirit of Christmas, please let it be this one. The characters and the story are so honest and open you’ll wish they were your neighbors too.
So put your feet up, grab your favorite beverage and relax reading or listening to, Let It Snow. Merry Christmas!
A very high 4.5 twinkling stars for me.

Thank you Netgalley, Penguin Random House, and Nancy Thayer
