Fast-paced and wonderfully descriptive of south east Asia during the reign of despot Pol Pot. I loved the story of Jack and his 3 mercenary buddies sent to rescue a woman and her 2 children. MCue, Slattery and Jack certainly know how to survive in the jungle. Well-trained and well-armed they managed - for the most part - to get from a to B, using all their guerilla warfare skills and ingenuity. Peopled with baddies galore but also showed how the human spirit is indominitable when the odds are stacked against you. Nice ending too. I really enjoyed this book and my thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. Definitely recommend this if you want a book to really absorb you and cheer along for the goodies!
