It was hard to read because of the way it downloaded from NetGalley on my Kindle. I liked the book but I think it would have been better without the compost and dirty diaper.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I went back and forth a little on this book. There were things that I liked but things I didn't. I wasn't a fan of the title. It's weird to me. The illustrations are bright, but I didn't realize they were lions. I thought they were foxes or cats or something. But they are bright and the story is simple and easy to follow.

Little Lion is happy, curious young lion and she wants to know what Mamma Lion's favorite smell is. Every page brings a new question from little lion as she smells all the wonderful scents of her day, and asks her mama if that is her favorite smell. Mama keeps saying that she likes the smell, but it is not her favorite. Little Lion finally finds out the answer to his question as he is getting ready for bed. The beautiful message is that we are loved and what is more important than that. The bright, action filled illustrations make this a delightful, heartwarming story. The author has included the full scripture verse that inspired the story, a short prayer, some questions that your child may ask after reading the book and a wonderful chocolate chip cookie recipe at the end of the book. When I read this book to my granddaughter, she enjoyed all the questions that Little Lion asked and of course thought some of them were funny, like a dirty diaper. She is only three, but we did talk about how much God loves us and then we (her mommy, daddy, grandma, the nonnis etc. all love her and her smell).

This is a great book. It's very descriptive, sentimental at times, and it's full of rhyming fun. The pictures are absolutely wonderful.

In this story the mommy lion makes sure she not only teaches the little lion as much as she can, but she also makes sure to answer little lion's many questions both thoughtfully and truthfully. Above all the mommy lion always makes sure that little lion feels safe and loved.

"We are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing"- 2 Corinthians 2:15

God gave us the gift of smell so of course we should use it, not that your nose gives you much of an option. This is a story of a little lion girl who spends her day trying to figure out what Mama Lion's favorite smell is. She smells things from coffee and chocolate chip cookies to rotten easter eggs. The lion family spends the day together, doing all sorts of things, however none of those things are as precious as the activity they are doing when little girl lion finds her mom's favorite smell. Check out this book to find out what it is!

Adorable! Full of family fun! Plus being a new mother myself, her favorite smell is my favorite smell, forever and always.

I thought the concept for the book was very interesting and enjoyable. The addition of the recipe at the end was a nice touch I think the Bible verse would alienate a lot of families though. Up until then, this was a nice little book for everyone.

Little Lion is determined to find out what her Mom's favorite smell is. Fresh cinnamon rolls? Rain? Flowers from Daddy Lion? Dirty diapers? What could it be?

I think we all know what Mom's favorite smell is going to be, but this a really cute story. I like all the unpleasant smells (like the dirty diaper, and the compost heap) Little Lion suggests, and her mom's responses to them.

The two things I didn't love. 1. The nuclear family. Yes, these were lions, and animals are always a safe choice, but a mom, dad, and two kids, Kinda predictable. It would have been cool to see a different family dynamic. 2. The bible verse at the end. Why? Unless you are marketing this book to a certain faith, why include something that can potentially alienate the reader?

Cute book for the littles! Illustrations are adorable. The story is a sweet reminder that mamas love their little ones more than anything else and even though there are lots of great smells the best and favorite is that of their babies. Recommended for babies and toddlers.

Unfortunately the Kindle version was in a really bad format making it impossible to read. Loved the illustrations and it seemed like it’d be a great story.

This is a very cute book but my son was unable to read the words as they are very small in the digital version and when you pinch to make bigger they get very blurry. The words are part of the photo on each page and each page is split in half, making this not the easiest book to read. Buy in print and its a great book.

I could not read this book on my kindle so I am going to go ahead and give it 5 stars anyway. I could not enlarge the pages and from what I could see the pages seems out of order. Please understand I was trying to view this on a kindle app on my phone. Wanted to read it to my granddaughter but was unable to.

As soon as we finished, kiddo asked to read it again. That's always the mark of approval in our house.

The illustrations are great. The story idea is cute, but I started skipping some of the repetitive parts. Saying the same thing on EVERY page wasn't necessary for the story-line. Overall it's a feel-good story and a good conversation starter about good and bad smells. The recipe inclusion at the end was a nice surprise.

This is a follow-up to the wonderful book "Daddy's Favorite Sound". The book was inspired by a scripture from 2 Corinthians 2:15: "the pleasing aroma of Christ." The author and his seven year old daughter co-wrote the text together making it a fun family project.

Little Lion sniffs the air as Mommy takes a pan of yummy cinnamon rolls from the oven. This is little cubs' favourite smell. Is it Mommy's too?

"Mommy, Mommy, is this your favourite smell?"
Mommy shook her head. "It's sweet indeed, but the yummy scent of cinnamon rolls is not my favorite."

Curious Little Lion is then on a quest throughout the day to hunt down the smell that is closest to her mother's heart. She asks her Mommy if Baby Lion's dirty diaper is her favorite smell? Perhaps it is Mommy's morning latte? How about the scent of grass and dirt after a spring shower? Maybe it's the spectacular bouquet of tulips that Daddy Lion brings home for Mommy? Or the minty toothpaste that Little Lion uses as she brushes her pointy teeth until they sparkle before bedtime? ... just to name a few. Mommy always answers in the negative. No Little Lion they are not my favorite. Will Mommy Lion ever disclose the smell she loves best to her sweet daughter? Can you guess what it might be?

The illustrations are beautiful and the family's love is felt on each and every page. The author has included the full scripture verse that inspired the story, a short prayer, some questions that your child may ask after reading the book and a wonderful chocolate chip cookies recipe at the end of the book. I highly recommend this book and the previous one also.

Little Lion is happy lion as she is curious as any little one you may know. She wants to know what her Mamma Lion's favorite scent is. Every colorful page brings a new question from little lion as she smells all the wonderful smells of the day asking her mamma if this is her favorite smell. Of course, as a parent, I know the answer and it is revealed at bed time as mamma and little lion snuggle for the night. What a beautiful blessing to know that you are loved. Highly recommend.

A Special Thank you to Harvest House Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

This was so cute! I loved the illustrations and the fun activities and recipe in the back. A great read for families to share over and over.

Mommy's Favourite Smell is a really sweet book about a little lion who spends the day trying to find out what mommy's favourite smell I see however good or bad he thinks the smell is. I like the repetitive aspect of the book as the children do tend to enjoy this in books as it gets them more involved, the ending is beautiful and well worth the wait but also a little predictable for adults. The illustrations are gorgeous and they show a beautiful love between the mother and child. A lovely story of a mother and child.

The layout of this review copy in kindle made if difficult to read. I shared the story with my 5 year old son. It was a sweet story, he enjoyed it but he couldn’t follow the illustrations bc of the layout of the ebook. I liked that the book opened a discussion for my child about smells and how they make us feel. The included cookie recipe was a nice addition. Thanks for the ARC

I love this sweet book, so very much! I am going to buy it for several new mommy's I know! I love that they included a recipe in the end. I also enjoyed the many smells of motherhood being included throughout the book! It is one of my favorites now! The author captured the descriptions of being a Mommy perfectly!

I was skeptical about liking this book, but my oldest son actually really loves it. It tells the story of a curious little lion cub who tries to guess her mother’s favorite smell. It’s fun to talk about the different kinds of smells, both good and bad, that they discuss. My son is still quoting this book, even days after reading it. This is definitely a good book that promotes bonding, teaches kids about comparison and will give you both some giggles. (P.S. The book also contains a yummy chocolate chip cookie recipe.)

This is a sweet book. I love how the things the little lion guesses are things that my kids would experience in their daily lives. Reading this to them would be easy to start conversations because they could identify with things the little lion is doing. Also a sweet concept.
