I received an advanced reader's copy of Ice Hard (A New York Nighthawks Novel) by Tracy Goodwin from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had read another book by Tracy Goodwin before and enjoyed it so I did have high hopes for Ice Hard and, happily, was NOT disappointed!

Overall, I enjoyed this novel and I found it to be well written. The primary characters' romantic start was both meet-cute and packed with chemistry from the beginning and Ice Hard just got warmer from there. I enjoyed the well-crafted characters and the pacing of the novel. The plot moved along steadily and kept me engrossed from start to finish.

All in all, a good read!

I really really really enjoyed this book! I am a sucker for a hockey romance with a GOOD guy. And please don't doubt - Nick is one of the good ones. Cami comments on it all the time - and she is right - there are not a lot of guys like Nick. He keeps his domination on the ice and treats Cami as an equal partner from the first moment he sees her. I loved the fact that he showed his respect and support for her as an individual throughout the book. He said he was interested in her - and really help up his stance with hard evidence. He didn't try to fight Cami's battles for her, but supported her through them all.

As an aside, this book deals with Cami's struggle to accept her own infertility. The issues she faces - from her family and herself are very real and very emotional. <spoiler> I was particularly glad there was now "miracle" baby in this story - and that the author embraced the concept of families coming in all shapes, sizes, and kinds. </spoiler>.

Reading this story gave me all the feels - in the best way. I will say, however, that a lot of the relationship development happened off-page, maybe to make room for more sexy-times. This worked for me in this book - but I might have been ok with less sexy-time and more talking between the characters.

This was my first book my Tracy Goodwin - but it won't be my last!

Disclaimer - I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley at no cost to me - but all opinions expressed here are my own!

Kind of predictable story. As soon as you started it, you knew where this was going. The ex, and that while story line. Ok read for me.

This was an enjoyable story about two very different characters falling in love and finding a happy ever after. It is #2 in the series but easily stands alone. The first book was so awesome that I could not wait to dig into this story. However I did like the first book much better. This story was good too just not as awesome as the first book.

In this story Nick is our male lead and he is attending a bachelor party for his bestie when he meets Cami. He is looking for a relationship and he thinks she is the perfect girl for him. On his side it is a little instalove/lust.

Cami is a bit of a hot mess with some really BIG issues. She tells him right away she does not want to date a jock. Nick is a professional hockey player so he has to really work for it. However Cami has some big issues that she needs to work out before they can be together.

I liked both character and loved seeing the couple from the first book and attending their wedding. My favorite scene in the whole book for the dress store scene. Kudos to the author for a well written and fun book that also dealt with some real issues.

This is Nick and Cami book, Nick is a hockey player for the New York nighthawks he has it all! Fame, money, success, and all the pick bunnies he could want! The one thing he doesn't want anymore is one night stands, he wants what his best friend has a committed relationship! Then he meets a Britney spears lookalike lol she's sexy, smart, sarcastic and hot as heck! But she only wants one night stands! No commitments !! Cami learned a hard lesson to never date a jock again!! But she can do one night with Nick and be his date for his besties wedding! What could one night hurt?! Thinking was ok but like the first book it reads like choppy or something? It doesn't flow smoothly? Idk it's hard to explain the story wasn't bad at all I just don't like the flow of it if that makes any sense lol thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

I wanted to like this so much more than I did. I love a good hockey romance but this was just okay for me. Thank you to netgalley for the Arc.
