I like this authors writing style but honestly I felt the main male character to be too perfect...…...

This one started off really good, but then about halfway through, I started to lose interest. Which is a shame since I have really enjoyed this series. I skipped around until I finished the book. Luckily, I really enjoyed the last chapter and the epilogue. The epilogue was perfect.
Cami and Nick are a 'real' couple who deal with 'real' issues.
Overall, 4 stars.
This one can be read on its own with no issues even though you wont have met Chris and Serena.

Possible triggers are miscarriage and not being able to have children.

I absolutely loved every single thing about this book. From beginning to the very end. Nick the “Dominator” George is the absolute PERFECT BOOK-BOYFRIEND.

Nick is one of the sweetest Hero’s I’ve read and he will have you swooning page after page. Even though he’s the Dominator on the ice, his heart is soft, he’s a smart jock and he’s so handsome.

Camille has been burned by one hockey player. So it’s a big NO on dating other ones. Until a chance meeting with Nick happens. He starts to change her thinking on things. He’s different than everybody else. She doesn’t want to give in to him. But she can’t stop herself. She can put the breaks on it but Nick just steamrolls her thoughts and actions.

I loved this book. It was addictive with characters who you fall in love with.

Highly recommended.

German review on the book is following: 3.5 stars. Review will be published on the publication date of the books:

With a swoonworthy pro hockey player who shows the world his alpha side on a daily basis but keeps his inner teddy bear a secret and the sassy woman who melts his heart, this book has a lot going for it. I really liked our hero, Nick. He is steadfast in his feelings for Cami and determined to show her that they can become something lasting. Unfortunately, Nick has more patience than me because Camille’s constant indecision and insecurities grated on me more and more as the book continued on. I definitely liked the first half better than the second, but as a whole it’s a solid book.

The story follows Nick, a hockey player who has watched his best friend and teammate fall in love, get engaged and start a family in the last year. He realizes that he wants someone meaningful in his life and sets out to find a woman who loves him for his true self, not the role he plays on the ice. At his friend’s bachelor party, he meets Camille and is immediately taken by her. It’s not quite insta-love, but his feelings form at warp speed. Camille is equally attracted, but her history with hockey players has left her unwilling to open herself up to another one. Nick relentlessly pursues Cami until she accepts her feelings for him, but insecurities continue to linger in the back of her mind.

The writing here is great and Nick is such a good guy. I loved the chemistry between the two at the beginning of the book, and would’ve liked to have explored that a little more. There’s a lot of internalization and not enough interaction between the couple during the middle of the book, and that’s where it started to lose my interest a little bit. I was really liking it initially and then things started to feel both rushed (their feelings) and repetitive (Cami’s hesitancy, so many sex scenes that it felt like the foundation of their relationship). Overall, it’s not a perfect book but it’s definitely worth a read and I’m sure fans of the series won’t be disappointed. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. I would definitely check out the next book in the series - I think I know who our hero will be and it should be interesting.

In this Nighthawks novel, Nick George is determined to break Camille Benetti rule of not dating hockey players. Cami has been burned in a past relationship with a hockey player and refuses to put herself in that situation again. However, Nick is different. No matter what Cami says or does, Nick stands by her and shows her that not all hockey players are bad. This was the first book by Tracy Goodwin that I have read and it was well written. Containing moments of lighthearted banter and romance, balanced by emotional revelations and family drama. This book will keep readers returning for more.

Ice Hard by Tracy Goodwin is the second book in the A New York Nighthawks series. At the time, I wasn't aware of that. But as my first Tracy Goodwin novel, it wasn't confusing to read since it stands alone, which is appealing for those who never know where to start with book series. It was a great read, it succeeded my expectations, and I have a lot when it comes to #HockeyBooks. Wish there was more hockey talk, but I'm okay with what I got, and it will sit well with those who don't care about hockey.

And now, let us talk about the book:

Ice Hard is about Nick George, a professional hockey player in the NHL. He has his whole life made, a job he loves and amazing best friends. But there's one thing, Nick realizes that he wants to fall in love. But most importantly, he wishes for commitment.

That’s why Nick is ready to settle down. Living the hockey life isn't always glamour and puck bunnies as the crowd thinks. When you start seeing your friends finding love and marrying off, you become jealous of what they have, in the right way. You want it for yourself; you want that commitment and passion. You want to feel blissfully happy. As he sees no alternative, he signs up for a dating app, and that's a secret he’ll never tell. That ’d give his teammate enough chirping material for a lifetime. He’ll never live it down.

Ice Hard is about Camille Benetti, a smart, sarcastic, and strong woman who loves her family and gives all to them without thinking about herself. She's got a degree, a want to pursue more and a never-giving-up attitude.

That's why she doesn't want to find love with a hockey player—again. When she sees Nick, it turns on the red flags that are always on the back of her mind when it comes to his kind. For her, hockey players are never fair and square, and she’s got a story to tell. So, she’ll ignore their chemistry and pull. There’s no enough incentive for her. Not even a smart, down-to-earth hockey will change her mind. Or, will it happen?

For them it all starts at a bar, for the Nighthawks it always starts there. Or so say they say.

Ice Hard is a great continuation of the series. I read it in one evening. Nick is a tough but down-to-earth professional hockey player that wants to find the kind of relationship his best friend has. Out of ideas, and despite knowing the humiliation his teammates will put him through if they find out, he creates a profile on a dating app. Cami helps run the family businesses, loves to sing and dance, and definitely does not date hockey players--again. However, when Nick and Cami meet, their chemistry is intense and resistance is futile, but is Cami ready for the type of love Nick is searching for?

This is a nice, quick read. However, I suggest reading the series in order.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review.

This is the second book that I have read by this author. I really enjoyed the first book which is why I requested this one. However this book is a little lacking to me. The entire book just seemed rushed. To me Cami and Nicks relationship was rushed and constantly about sex.

This book is not bad but being honest the first book in this series was much better and the characters were better developed.

Camille and Nick, a professional hockey player, meet when she is pitching in as a bartender at Nick’s team’s favorite haunt. There is a instant attraction, but Cami fights it. With a little help from a dating app and Cami’s brother, they meet again. Initially, Cami only agrees to a friendship, but Nick has plans for a lot more. Unfortunately, things from Cami’s past continue to haunt her and make her insecure. Between those old hurts and an incredibly nasty older sister and younger brother, she doesn’t believe that she deserves Nick and sabotages their relationship. Can they get through these challenges to find their HEA?

While I’m no hockey fan, hockey is really just part of the background of this sweet and funny read. I look forward to the next book in the series!

I love hockey romances and I definitely enjoyed Ice Hard by Tracey Goodwin. It was an amazing and heartfelt romance with a side of steaminess. The second in her New York Nighthawks series, Ice Hard can be read as a standalone and is told in dual POV.

Tracey Goodwin has written real and authentic characters; the banter between Nick and Cami is great and I loved Nick’s teammates, their interactions were hilarious. You will fall in love with Nick, there was so much depth to him beyond his career as a hockey player and he was just so honest in his emotion. He was one of those truly good guys. Cami was a little frustrating; it felt patronizing when she ended her relationship with Nick and tried to tell him what he wanted instead of actually listening to Nick or trusting him. She was also strong, confident and unique; a great heroine.

This was my first book by this author but I will definitely be going back and reading the first book in this series.

If you’re a fan of hockey romances with a truly good hero, then you will not want to miss this fun and satisfying read.

I received an ARC through NetGalley.

Pretty good book by this author. It was the first for me by her and I really enjoyed it. I'm not much of a hockey fan but I do love reading romances about them. Great characters and great story.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love reading about hockey and the family they make with their teams. This book is about Nick, the hockey plaer and Cami the restaurant owner. Nick is not your typical hockey player. He is a nerd. Cami comes from a big Italian family that is almost too much to bear. Cami is also from a broken marriage with a hockey player.

Can these two find love? Read this book to find out!

I voluntarily received a copy of this book for an honest review!

Happy ending, slow middle.
I honestly have to say I was impressed with the pick up at the end! At times I had to put this book down and move on! It took me longer to read then I like. There was a rivalry that was pointless, but a revenge that was best served ice cold. The bitter family drama that worked itself out.
Sweet memories and happily pleasurable endings is all we could ask for!

Funny....sweet...sexy...that about sums it up :)

A great story with down to earth characters...not a lot of drama or angst, but a quick read that hits it all

How does Nick get Cami to change her mind?

Hockey player Nick George is ready to settle down after seeing his best friend find the one. He was tired of puck bunnies and people who wanted to date him because he played hockey. Nick had signed up for a dating app trying to find someone when he met Camille Benetti while she was bartending at his best friend’s bachelor party helping out her little brother. Camille told Nick that she didn’t date hockey players but her little brother helped Nick to find her on the dating app.

Nick really liked Cami but trying to get past her not dating hockey players was almost a deal breaker but Nick understood when Cami told him the reason. The relationship moves very fast in the beginning but Nick and Cami are a couple that fits together and that it what makes Ice Hard a very good romance.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Nick doesn't really put up much of a fight where his woman's wants are concerned, "if she wants me out of this tux, I’m game. “Can we bail? I mean, we’ve got time, right?” Nick sometimes needs to be the voice of reason, “if I’m going to eff you like I want to eff you, the condoms are on the other side of the room.” I liked rhis book, I loved Nick.

This was my first book by this author so I was excited to see what I was in for. Ice Hard is the second book in the series, which I did not know at the time, but is a standalone and I was not confused at all reading the book.

Ice Hard is about Nick, an NFL hockey player who, after seeing his friend and teammate settle down, is kind of envious and realizes he might be looking to do the same. After a chance run in with Cami/Camille at his friend's bachelor party, he realizes he really wants to get to know her better. Unfortunately, Camille has really been burnt before, by literally everyone in her life, making her very untrusting of others.

I enjoyed reading about Nick's attempts at trying to win Cami over and get her to give him a chance, and was routing for them from the start. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy, and she really needed someone like that on her side. I enjoyed the writing style of the author and I enjoyed the characters in the book. There were lots of references and scenes involving Nick's friends and teammates, especially Chris and his fiance, who were in book one of the series, so I would like to go back and read that book also. I did feel like some of Camille's family drama was maybe a little over the top and/or not well developed or well resolved, but otherwise I thought the book was overall an engaging and enjoyable read. It was a fairly predictable read, but that didn't take away from the story for me, and I would be interested in reading more from the author.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Ice Hard (A New York Nighthawks Novel) by Tracy Goodwin from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had read another book by Tracy Goodwin before and enjoyed it so I did have high hopes for Ice Hard and, happily, was NOT disappointed!

Overall, I enjoyed this novel and I found it to be well written. The primary characters' romantic start was both meet-cute and packed with chemistry from the beginning and Ice Hard just got warmer from there. I enjoyed the well-crafted characters and the pacing of the novel. The plot moved along steadily and kept me engrossed from start to finish.

All in all, a good read!

I really really really enjoyed this book! I am a sucker for a hockey romance with a GOOD guy. And please don't doubt - Nick is one of the good ones. Cami comments on it all the time - and she is right - there are not a lot of guys like Nick. He keeps his domination on the ice and treats Cami as an equal partner from the first moment he sees her. I loved the fact that he showed his respect and support for her as an individual throughout the book. He said he was interested in her - and really help up his stance with hard evidence. He didn't try to fight Cami's battles for her, but supported her through them all.

As an aside, this book deals with Cami's struggle to accept her own infertility. The issues she faces - from her family and herself are very real and very emotional. <spoiler> I was particularly glad there was now "miracle" baby in this story - and that the author embraced the concept of families coming in all shapes, sizes, and kinds. </spoiler>.

Reading this story gave me all the feels - in the best way. I will say, however, that a lot of the relationship development happened off-page, maybe to make room for more sexy-times. This worked for me in this book - but I might have been ok with less sexy-time and more talking between the characters.

This was my first book my Tracy Goodwin - but it won't be my last!

Disclaimer - I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley at no cost to me - but all opinions expressed here are my own!
