What a interesting and engaging story, what this family has to go through, you feel it for yourself. This kept me gripped for hours and would definitely recommend to anyone, I feel would enjoy it.

The premise of this novel sounded SO INTRIGUING.

...which is exactly why it pains me so much to say that I just couldn't get through the first few chapters.

I tried. I TRIED! I picked it up, put it down, picked it up again a few days later. I read the first three chapters, tried to get into the story... but I just couldn't connect to the characters, couldn't be enthralled by the prose.

It absolutely sucks, because, as aforementioned, the premise sounded awesome - time travel?? To save someone??? Over and over again????? SIGN ME UP!!

But the prose was nearly all dialogue, without any proper world-building or scene-setting, and the writing wasn't that... gripping... to begin with. It was just kind of... there. Nothing special.

I'm sure this novel will appeal to a lot of readers (a statement seconded by the four-star rating that this title currently has on NetGalley!!). I'm just so sorry to have to say that I'm not one of them :(

This was definitely my kinda book. I love time travel books and this book hooked me from the start. It was beautiful and sad at the same time. Highly recommended !

This book just wasn't for me. Normally I love a bizarro world and timey wimey stuff but for whatever reason (and I'm not sure what that is ) this book and story wasn't what I was expecting.

I don't know what it was with this story but it didn't catch my attention at all while reading. Going in though it seemed like a cool concept, and I still do. The whole idea of having the ability to travel in time and the endless hope to save a person close to you is intriguing. If you could go back and save someone, would you do it no matter what it took?

The problem with the book isn't the concept, but the writing itself. Most of the story is told through constant dialog. This leaves no proper build up of the world, the whole time travel thing or any basic facts about the characters themselves that aids the reader understand what's going on and thus become invested in the story. Another big problem the book had for me was the use of time jumping between the chapters (then and now). If it's done right it can add so much more to a story, to show parallels and build up a tension to it all, but if it's done wrong it's just leaves the reader lost and confused. Which was the case for me with this book.
Another thing that was in the stories disadvantage was the facts that I didn't came to care about any of the characters, it was like I was waiting to get something that would make me feel that these characters was interesting and something that could grab onto my attention. It sadly never came, it's very hard to care about someone if they don't give you anything at all to care about.
I'm usually a very sensitive reader who get's really invested in characters and sometimes cry from them, but this book did as much emotional impact on me as if I was reading a shopping list. It was just way to dull for my taste.

I was totally lost from page 1. So much so, that at the end of the first chapter I quit reading it. This book starts off like it should be well into the book already and you have no background about what's happening and nothing is being explained.

This was an interesting premise but I struggled to get into this or be invested in the characters or plot, unfortunately not for me.

This book was something special to me. Quite frankly, it’s the first book in a while that blew me away. The storytelling is magical and it’s such a heart-wrenching, yet beautiful story about family and unconditional love.

This book was well thought out, smart, enthralling, and fascinating. It took me on an imaginary journey I didn't want to end, it's a fantastic, unique, captivating and intense story, my heart was beating hard and I was anxious to see what will happen next.

This a must read, an unforgettable story that will stay with you, prepare your heart for an emotional and touching story.

Wow, the premise gets you hooked from the beginning, and once you start the book the ride only begins. It really is a sad and beautiful novel that explores loss and what if you could change it.

Oh my gosh. What a book. I could not put this book down. At first, I was confused because of the Now and Then differences, but overall it was so good. I do think there could have been more detail and explanations of specifics with the Now parts, however there will be a sequel so I have high hopes things will be explained. This book was incredible, it was so cute, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be impatiently waiting for the sequel. The ending was a surprise, but I didn't hate it. Due to the way it ended I suspect it won't be the last we see of these characters. I was very skeptical about this book, but after reading it, wow, I am so glad I gave it a chance. It had me laughing and crying all at once.

Broken Echo by KR Hancock is a brilliant ride and I think everyone should give this book a chance. I haven't read a book like this before and I just loved the concept. Great characters and an amazing story what more can you ask for.

This book was awesome. It started out a little slow but really picked up as the story got more involved and the pieces of it started to fit together. Shay is a senior high school exchange student from Australia to Phoenix, AZ, living with Sam and Mary Forrester and their son Jake who is the same age. Shay and Jake do not get along initially and Shay thinks he is a terrible person (which he is), but she does start to see his best friend Grady who seems pretty perfect. She also gets close to her exchange parents but she senses something off with them. They do not tell her everything and weird things keep happening, so much that Shay thinks they are psychic. Eventually Shay and Jake get over their differences (well, Jakes) and begin a relationship. I do not want to spoil the story but it is really exciting as it nears the end which alludes to a second book in this series. IT kind of reminded me of Claudia Gray's Firebird series which I loved. Definitely looking forward to the second book! Thanks to NG for the ARC!!

I loved parts of this book, and others kind of made me nuts..

This was a really unique, interesting story. It was about kove, family, time travel and suspense. It made me think and wonder what i would do if I was Jake's mother, or if I were Shay. It drew me in.

On the other hand it was confusing. There was now versus prior. But there were multiple past stories. There were multiple pov. And the actual time travel explanation was seriously weird.

I'm giving this 3.5 stars. However, since I needed to know what happened next, I'm rounding up to 4.
