Wow so I didn’t really see any of that coming. These folks have so many secrets that the layers upon layers of info they have to uncover about one another just to get to know the individual they are falling in love with is astounding. Zanetti’s newest series revolves around a set of misfits that have come together into an oddly effective team of crime-fighters and each new story just gets stranger and stranger. Raider and Brigid have sparked off one another since they met and that doesn’t seem to be changing any time soon, despite the fact that they know have to go undercover as lovers. Brigid is a hacker, one that has spent most of her life trying to utilize her skills to make a positive difference in the world, but she has been forced onto this team as part of a prison-plea deal. Even though she knows she shouldn’t she desire Raider more than just about anything, despite his straight-laced and conformist personality and knowing she will never have a chance with him. Raider has devoted his career to bringing down criminals and his personal life to maintaining balance in all aspects to prevent his temper from taking over. While he wants Brigid, he refuses to give into the desire because she is a criminal, even though she turns him on beyond any woman he’s ever encountered. Forced into close quarters and danger situations repeatedly, they begin to rely on and learn about one another and soon the pull is no longer resistible and giving in becomes the most satisfying choices either of them has ever made. Sadly, the secrets they are each keeping could end up pulling them apart, or getting either or both of them killed, if the team doesn’t manage to keep them both alive and out of jail. I loved seeing these two burn up the pages and was reaching for a glass of ice water more than once to cool myself down, but there were a lot of moments where I wanted to slap one or both of them for making stupid choices that might have torn them apart. I am loving this series, with its ridiculous stories, hilarious scenes between the heavy stuff, and amazing plots to go along with the intense relationships and emotional connections. I can’t wait for what’s next and to see where Rebecca takes this series.

I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review"

Too quiet. A talented hacker who got caught, Brigid Banaghan is now forced to work with a secret Deep Ops unit. But she won't reveal any more to these renegade Feds than she has to. Especially not to Raider Tanaka, her control freak of a bodyguard and handler. It's enough that his body is tensed for action and his heated gaze is always on her . . .

Too sharp. Raider knows there's more to his new assignment than he's been told. Why send a deadly agent of his experience to guard a computer genius—even a gorgeous, unpredictable, undisciplined one? But when Brigid's estranged father is named in an investigation into Boston's organized crime, Raider's mind switches onto high alert, just like his senses . . .

Too close. To clear her father's name, Brigid needs Raider's help. The Unit's idea that she bring a straight-laced Fed in as her "fiancé" won't fly, though—not unless Raider can release his inner bad boy and become the rebel Brigid can't resist

I did enjoy reading this book but something was missing and I am not sure what it was. I loved the romance and all the side characters and what they brought to the story. I think the issue I had was I just couldn't connect to either of the main characters within the story. I do have to say the dog in this series is amazing and I would read the series even if I hated the book just for him because he is so complex and funny.

I do plan to read the rest of the books in the series because I did enjoy this book and I really liked the first one. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book which I will be starting really soon. I gave this a solid 3 stars.

The Homeland Defense team is made up of military rejects working undercover by doing things by any means necessary that even the government would deny involvement. In this case, they are trying to uncover the Irish mob connections to human trafficking. Of course it’s not just another assignment. It’s personal for both Raider and Brigid.

Raider Tanaka is assigned to get info and his best shot is to work with the best hacker in the nation, Brigid Banaghan. Though her hacking skills will do them wonders, her very own father may have the key to a successful mission. The fun twist is that Raider and Brigid will need to go undercover as fiances to soften up the old man. Pretending to be together was a breeze for this couple as their attraction shines right through the pages. They were sexy and funny and though they both didn’t want to work together initially, they played their roles well.

The relationship with Brigid and her dad was sweet. Despite being apart for so long, they act as if they have not been apart for very long. What’s even more entertaining is the blossoming relationship between Raider and Brigid’s dad. They cracked me up and I looked forward to their interaction with every page I turned. You also get a good amount of the rest of the crew and their quirky shenanigans including their alcoholic dog and a cat name Kat.

The second installment of Deep Ops Series, Fallen is fast paced, action packed, humor filled, and it was sexy AF. If you like Romantic Suspense reads? You got to give this a go!

*I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review.* Wow, what a great book!! Rebecca Zanetti is a new author to me & I’m loving her. I’ve read three books in the series so far & will be reading all of them. This is Raider & hacker Brigid’s story when Brigid works a case with Raider posing as his finance. Fallen is a well written, funny, action packed book with wonderful characters with their own idiosyncrasies. You will especially love Force’s dog Roscoe that suffers from PTSD, loves to wear high heals, has a drinking problem & is loved by the team. If you like action packed romances with humor & wonderful characters, this is the book & series for you!!

FALLEN (Deep Ops Book 2) By Rebecca Zanetti
This is the 2nd story in the Deep Ops series. Brigid Banaghan is a top tier computer hacker and Raider Tanaka is a Deep Ops agent who has been given the job of her bodyguard and handler. This story is a romantic suspense, it is well written with fleshed out characters that you care about, it has danger, intrigue and a dog that enjoys his Jack Daniels and steam from our hero and heroine. I am enjoying Rebecca Zanetti’s work. This is a 5 star read.
This arc was given to me from Netgalley for my honest review.

Loving, loving, loving my Deep Ops peeps! Soooo much action and intrigue in this episode.
At times I honestly thought how the heck could they all survive to find any time for Tanaka and Brigid?

Full disclosure, Tanaka had been on my radar from the very beginning of this series. Wasn't sure about Brigid for Tanaka, but her character development won me over. I only wished that there was more T & B smexy times #sorrynotsorry

Keeping with Deep Ops till the very end ;)

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion.

I loved Fallen, and I adored Raider. He was seriously sexy in a complete bad ass way. Brigid I really liked too. She was smart and spunky. Not only were the main characters amazing, but man was this one hell of a ride. At one point I thought we were reaching the climax of the story and then I noticed I was only 43% into the book. Never once did the story drop off and become boring, it was a crazy turn of events and I am glad I was along for the ride.

Fallen is the second title in Rebecca Zanetti's Deep Ops series, and it's the third book in the series I've read (there is a Deep Ops #1.5), and wow, what an exciting, sexy, thrill ride of a read! It gets 5 stars from this reader.

The heroine in this intriguing and exciting novel is Brigid Banaghan, a world class computer hacker who ended up on the wrong side of the Feds by inadvertently hacking into a Pentagon computer. To avoid prison time she took a really bad plea bargain--the Homeland Defense Department (HDD) requiring her to join and work with the Deep Ops team, which they'd like to see disbanded, and which is under the leadership of Angus Force, to secretly spy on their activities and report back to HDD.

Raider Tanaka, a member of the Deep Ops team, is appointed as Brigid's handler, keeping an eye on her and making sure she's doing the job she's supposed to be doing. To say that there is an attraction between these two is putting it mildly, but Brigid has always been attracted to bad boys, and Raider seems a bit too polished and straitlaced for her at the outset, but after one meeting in a bar on an op, he shows his bad, tough guy side, and Brigid is more than a little intrigued and attracted to this inscrutable man, as was this reader.

Bridig's father, Sean, from whom she's been estranged for some time, used to be an enforcer for the Irish Mob in Boston, and when he left the mob (a act which usually ends in death) after meeting Brigid's mom, marrying her and buying a farm in upstate New York, he took some insurance with him in the form of records of their illegal enterprises and tape recordings of mob deals, conversations and activities. Now, the mob leader he once worked for is dead, and his son has taken control--he's more than a little paranoid and wants those records and recordings back, and he's not above kidnapping, torture, and murder to get his hands on them. Additionally, the Deep Ops team still think he's involved with the mob's illegal activities, but Brigid thinks otherwise, and wants to protect her father.

As the Deep Ops team's ace hacker, Brigid, become aware that mob activities have expanded from the usual guns, drugs and prostitution to human trafficking; there's a shipment of young girls arriving soon, and it's their mission to figure out where they'll enter the country and when. After trying and failing to get Brigid's father to turn over his "insurance," a way to infiltrate the mob, the plot thickens and takes off like a rocket, involving all of the members of the Deep Ops team in a race to stay alive, rescue Sean, then Brigid, and a reporter, Dana, who has been helping them. With every Deep Ops member involved in some way, including the hilarious, alcoholic German shepherd named Roscoe, their lives are in grave danger, and as the tension builds to a feverish pace, so too does the relationship between Raider and Brigid, at least until he learns that she's been spying on Deep Ops for the Feds--which is a deal breaker for Raider, who grew up in foster care, and insists on total honesty at all times, as well as for the rest of the team, who feel they can no longer trust the spy in their midst.

There are so many twists and turns in this tale that it was impossible to put down. Will Raider and Brigid resolve their issues now that Raider feels betrayed and lied to? Will the team force Brigid to leave? Will Brigid, Sean, Raider, Dana and the rest of the team survive this op and be able to rescue the trafficked young girls in time? All these questioned will be answered, but not by this reader.

I found Fallen to be one of the most exciting, complex, sexy, deeply moving and addictive reads I've read in some time. The author managed to get into the heads and hearts of all her characters and had this reader totally engrossed in their story from beginning to end. Yes there's some graphic sex and lots of violence, but both suits this novel perfectly. While this novel can be read as a standalone, I recommend starting this series from the beginning, and I think you'll be as engrossed by the Deep Ops series as I am.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

Rebecca has a knack for writing suspense and romance. She also brings you into a on going storyline that keeps the reader interested enough to want to know how all this is going to end.

Raider Tanaka has been Brigid Banaghan handler within the Deep Ops group for a few months. There's been a sexual tension between them but they keep it professional until they have to go undercover as a couple to take down an Irish mob.

Brigid's dad just so happens to be an ex-member of this mob, a big surprise to her, and one Raider was hoping to spare her from finding out.

Brigid is working with the Deep Ops ground because she was in jail for hacking into a government network by mistake while working for a non-profit when she found out a guy was into kiddie porn. The guy was a government man and that led her to hack the government.

Raider uses his skills to go undercover to find out more about the mob and the fact they are human trafficking women. Brigid is along for the mission as a hacker and unwilling (at first) as bait to get close to her father to see if he is still part of the mob.

Action and dangerous ensues in between the sexy times.

For me, the highlight of Fallen was the narration work of Roger Wayne and the side characters like Wolfe, Cat the kitten he carries in his pocket, and Roscoe the high heel stealing German Shepard with a drinking problem.

This was a great addition to the deep ops series! I love Raider and Brigid! They are so funny together, and there was so much intrigue! Brigid is a hacker with the team, and raider is the bodyguard. What better combination could there be?? Brigid has to clear her dads name. Raider is there to protect and help her. Perfect setup! You'll definitely need a good chunk of time to finish the book! I couldn't put it down until it was finished. I highly recommend this book, but read the first book before! They really need to be read in order to understand what is going on and the characters.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I really enjoyed this story. It had enough romance, suspense, and hotness. I would recommend this book to any fan of romance.

Great story that is part of a series, but can be read alone. This is the story of Tanaka and Brigid. Could they be anymore opposite? Brigid is a convicted hacker and has a BIG secret that she can’t share with anyone. Tanaka has his own secrets. They must work together. Hmm, how will that work as they are attracted to each other, but don’t want to be. Then throw in the fact that Brigid’s dad is a suspect in their investigation. Stranger and stranger. How will it end? Only time will tell and you will have to read it to find out the answer to these and other questions. Rebecca Zanetti is one of my favorite authors, so I really enjoyed this book. It is a part of one of the several series that Zanetti writes. All of them are good.
Thanks to netgalley for an advanced copy of this book to give an honest opinion.

Great book that can be read as a stand alone or as part of series; you will definitely get more out of it by starting at the beginning, although not necessary to do so. Well-written, engaging and fleshed out characters that you can really identify with, this is a suspenseful action packed love story with humor that will grab you from the beginning.

This series keeps getting better. I love the cast of characters in this series. Raider and Bridget are an interesting couple. I loved the way their lives seamlessly come together despite their differences. This book has just the right amount of action, suspense and humor. I can’t wait for the next one.

Book Review- Fallen by Rebecca Zanetti

Brigid and Raider are paired together to go under cover. Brigid is chosen because her father may be involved. He has a secret past she had no idea about. I like the tension between the two that already exists. It helps with the Op but makes things a bit difficult to handle in real life.
Raider knows all the issues involved with the Op and same things are being withheld from Brigid. She is also withholding information about why she is really on the team. There is some mistrust and fear of exposure in the story.
Brigid is having to deal with a lot in this story. She is being pressured and threatened by two agents. She is going home to her dad for the first time since she was arrested. She has to participate in this undercover Op with Raider while hiding her real feelings she has for him. She is a great character. Her heart is in the right place and she is super smart. She has some insecurities that came out a little.
The author placed her in such a tough situation. She fears for her team, her father, Raider and herself. When things come to a head, it gets difficult for her. I felt sorry for her instantly. A lot of what happened was completely out of her control.
Then Raider is more than he comes across. He is normally a handler but is completely bad ass when undercover. He is exactly what I love to see in an alpha secret agent.
Another character I love is Wolf. He is so off the wall. I can’t wait to read about him. This story was full of crazy situations and bad guys on both sides. I love this series. I give this a 4 out of 5.

Another exciting read from Rebecca Zanetti! Great writing, solid storyline and steamy chemistry between Brigid and Raider!

This is just book two in the Deep Ops series. Their was a lot of backstory in book one and there is more about this misfit group in Fallen. Featuring the hacker Brigid Banaghan and the ultra cool Raider Tanaka we learn more about Bridid and her secrets. Raider has some two. The two have to work together and ignore the attraction that is building. There is romance, tension, danger and forgiveness. before Fallen is over. Great second book in an exciting series.
