I scooped this book up when I read that the heroine is a reformed hacker working as a government agent. What's not to like there? The hero, Raider, is her handler at a fictional government agency that sounds a lot like Department of Homeland Security.
This book was heavier on the suspense than the romance. Zanetti always puts out a well thought out book with a lot of action. I wish more attention had been paid to Brigid and her hacking skills. I feel like that whole aspect of the book was glossed over. Overall a good read though.

Bridget Banaghan has been conscripted into a deep ops unit as their in-house hacker. To add to her stress, Bridget is also tasked with reporting on them back to their government contacts who are only too happy to threaten incarceration lest she fail the mole assignment. Being part of this quirky team of misfits has been the best job Bridget has ever had including being supervised by agent Raider Tanaka, who sets her heart to beating fast. With Raider posing as her fiancé for a dangerous op, Bridget finds it harder to resist this tightly wound, compelling man.
Raider knows something is off with his assignment as Bridget’s handler then things get more complicated when her father is caught up in mob business. Added to that mix, the group has to deal with human trafficking, a sleazy senator, and government agents who think Raider’s team should be shut down. The more time he spends with this extremely smart Irish lass, the harder time Raider had keeping things all business.
This is book two in the Deep Ops series so the team’s personalities have already been well established including their boss, Angus Force, who is very left of center as well as his alcohol loving, high heel shoe wearing very strange dog, Roscoe. Each member seems to have their own unique peccadillos that somehow work well together. As a romantic suspense story, readers are in for quite a bit of intrigue, tense situations, and time spent with some really nasty characters.

I absolutely love reading Rebecca's work and the way she writes. I was so glad that I got to read this because it was everything I could have imagined and more. It was so good and I read it in one day. I live the characters and this book was so exciting. I do recommend reading the first book in this series but Rebecca does a great job with the story if you don't.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow…Just wow. Rebecca Zanetti is a brilliant storyteller, weaving together a great plot, believable characters, suspense and lots of humour.
This is the second book in the Deep Ops series, bringing Brigid Banaghan and Raider Tanaka’s story as they go undercover to investigate a drug and human trafficking ring. We are introduced to Brigid’s father, Sean, a farmer and in his previous life, an enforcer for the mob. As the two begin to investigate, they are forced to deal with their own insecurities and growing attraction. You also get a chance to get to know the other characters a little more, particularly Angus, Roscoe and Nari. Can’t wait for Wolfe and Dana’s story. Bring on the sweet coffees and cute kitten.
I received this ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. All comments are my own.

Bridgit and Raider have nothing in common, except chemistry. As the relationship unfolds so do hidden agendas and dark secrets. Can a false relationship survive revealing the truth? Packed full of action and plenty of interaction with the other mis-fit members. Can't wait for the next book.

I've been wanting to read Rebecca Zanetti for some time, so I was glad to have the chance to read this book. I also haven't read what I consider to be a true romantic suspense for quite awhile, and Fallen was a great book for me to read to dive back in the genre.
The second book in Rebecca Zanetti's Deep Ops series, Fallen brings us Brigid Banaghan and Raider Tanaka. While I didn't feel lost with the characters or storyline, I definitely couldn't go wrong by going back to read the first book. I truly enjoyed all the characters of the Deep Ops unit; they are an eclectic group, and I look forward to reading more.
Brigid and Raider were an excellent couple. They had chemistry, banter and sexy moments.
Now I'm really looking forward to Wolfe and Dana.

Fallen is the second release by RZ in the Deep Ops series. This one follows the gang into a new case with the Boston mob. Raider and Brigid are working together and Raider is trying to get in undercover. It’s very intense and action pack. Raider and Brigid realize they like each other and as they learn more about each other the relationship grows into lust then love. They make a great couple. We see the rest of the gang and looks like Wolf and Dana are up next. Can’t wait for the next release.

I haven't read the first book in the Deep Ops series, but I have read a couple of Rebecca Zanetti's books before. I did enjoy this one and would certainly read more in the series, but I wasn't as completely sold on this one as I have been on her other books.
I enjoyed the overall story and the characters are all interesting. For me though, the chemistry between the two lead characters, Brigid and Raider was a little bit off. It wasn't that there wasn't chemistry there, it was more that there was a small element that just didn't seem to click. I don't know what it was and it may only be something that bothered me.
The group that makes up the HDD group are an odd band of damaged people. They work well together and I liked the dynamic between them. I have to admit that I'm not sure about the dog, I'm not entirely sure what the story is there, but for me, it doesn't really work. He was a little bit too 'human' and unless there's something unexpected going on where he really is a person, then I'm not sure what the plan was there.
I don't want to make it sound like I didn't enjoy this one, because I did. it's just that there were some elements of it that just weren't great and detracted from the overall read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Rebecca Zanetti hits it out of the park again! I loved this book. For the first chapter I struggled to get started. THe story ties strongly to the other books in the series, which I have not read. This caused a little confusion at first. However, once I got through the first chapter and background was provided I was hooked. The drama, suspense, and interactions between the characters is awesome! Our hero, Raider, is the epitome of a strong male character-smart, strong, caring. I really enjoyed how Zanetti showed an emotional depth to the male character, and that the female character was more conflicted about the relationship. I don't want to go into the reasons and spoil the book, but this conflict caused by Brigid's past gave depth to the story. The secondary conflicts and side stories are great and add to the book. I am definitely going to read all the other books that came before this one and already want the next. This book comes highlight recommended.
This book was given to me as an arc by Netgalley for a review. The opinions are my own.

‘Fallen’ is Rebecca Zanetti’s second instalment of her ‘Deep Ops’ series and one that, if you’ve not read the first book, could be difficult to wade into from the beginning as you struggle to make sense of events, characters and context. But it isn’t an impossible task to figure out that this ragtag team of covert government agents operating off the fly, will do off-the-record missions barely held together by duct tape despite the individual competencies and shady backgrounds of its agents.
I know that Raider Tanaka’s story has been long-awaited, and I was hoping ‘Fallen’ would do justice to it with a pairing of handler and former ex-con. But there’s pretence on several levels as Brigid and Raider go undercover, but perhaps the strongest betrayal is yet to come as Brigid keeps her own secrets from him. That all seems to be suddenly forgiven when things come to a climactic finish however, does feel like a cop-out without Brigid paying her dues, so to speak.
Zanetti’s writing style, in itself, is sometimes, hard to pin down and this had me stumbling particularly in the middle. There are driving, satisfying moments where you could literally see the jigsaw puzzles sliding seamlessly into place, just as there are moments of high-riding tension, only to be broken by odd pockets of humour that surface within the storytelling—unwarranted, unexpected but sometimes enough to jerk you into a bark of laughter—with characters who have at least a quirk or 2 that become their calling card. And that, never fails to leave me either breathless, or scratching my head in bewilderment at the absurdity of the very different aspects of storytelling that Zanetti seems to incorporate in all her works. Suspension of disbelief aside, there were scenes (particularly the ones with anthropomorphism) that were probably meant to be funny but had me painfully grimacing instead.
‘Fallen’ is a not bad read, though not a fantastic one. There are hints of future pairings (though it seems the rest of the books are a long time in coming) and I wish it’d left more of an impression nonetheless, given how much I was looking forward to Raider’s story and how much I like Zanetti's storylines.

This story was addictive, brilliant, well written, suspenseful, heartfelt, action packed and humorous! I love this author, she always has a way of engaging me in a story, and wanting to become the character. This is the first in this series that I have read, it is a stand alone as I was not lost or missing anything.
I loved the characters and the way they balanced each other. The tension between them, the heartfelt moments, the dialogue and the intrigue really made this story stand out to me. I love character drive stories and this is one of the best I’ve read.
I cannot say enough how well balanced this story was. There was never a time when I wanted to put it down, was board or found myself drifting. I was in this story from beginning to end; and yes I did read it in one go!
I highly recommend this story to all readers and I am off to buy this series in paperback! I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving an honest review.

Raider was a high-flying Fed but now he is consigned to the same deep, dark hole as the rest of the Deep Ops Crew. He has been Bridgits handler for the last few months and thought that they were doing good work. But the stakes have increased. There is a possibility that Bridgits dad still has ties to the Boston Mob. So now he has to expolit her connection to a notorious family to gain precious intel
Ah Bridgit, the lies that woman can tell! She has some whoppers n her arsenal but all the while she can't believe that her own dad may be just as an adept a liar. But going back home, with Raider undercover as her new "fiancee" - oh my!
Strong story, brilliant characters and a good comic relief in the shape of one alcoholic dog with a shoe fetish, LOL!!!

Fallen is another suspenseful story about the misfits of HDD. This is a page turner with lots of twists that will keep you reading until the end. Then you'll want to read about their next adventure.

I knew I was going to love this book because I’m familiar with the author and haven’t read a book of hers that I haven’t loved. Readers met Raider in the first book of this series. He was the quieter and more elusive sibling. As a member of this unit, he is called to use his investigative skills and his attraction to Brigid, the hacker forced to work for the unit, develops and grows. They seem like an unlikely combination but the author allows their attraction to grow as the reader grows to love them also. Another excellent book that I didn’t want to end! I need more stars for this one. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love the direction Ms. Zanetti's writing has taken. This story has romance, action, twists, intrigue, and drama. it's a neat little package of a story that covers all the bases and leaves you wanting to read more about this team! I'm looking forward to future books in the Deep Ops series.

Fallen kept me turning the pages as fast as I could. Rebecca Zanetti is a master storyteller. There’s intrigue, the mob, undercover assignments and so much more. There is also a great deal of humor. The passion between Raider and Brigid is scorching. Of course Roscoe the dog steals the show. It’s not often you run across a high heel wearing, alcoholic German shepherd. He had tears running down my face. I just loved this book. As funny as it was sometimes it is romantic suspense. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Briged Banaghan, the red headed, emerald eyed computer wizard takes a job working for HDD as a ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ card. It was arranged for her to be picked up by one of the Deep OPs team to start running their tech department. She is aware that the team is unorthodox but can’t wait to sit in front of their computer system to begin helping the crew solve cases.
Raider Tanaka entered the door to the Deep OP building and took the old elevator down to the offices. A bell rang as the doors opened. It wasn’t much but it was the only security system the Ops office had aside from the team member’s strength and ingenious methods of unraveling even the most difficult injustices. Raider’s latest was to locate Briged’s father, Sean, an upstate New York farmer. Prior to his marriage, he was in enforcer for a syndicated mob boss. All this took place prior to Briged’s birth. He left his criminal ways behind, married and raised his daughter. Raider’s handler charged him to take Brigid as his accomplice. They were to go undercover as recently engaged to meet Sean. On their visit Raider needed to search the farm for any whereabouts of the Irish organized crime out of Boston. Aside from the drug running the dark side shows missing girls out of Thailand coming to the states. These victims of human trafficking are also part of their operation. Force hoped to get word on the time and date of the docking to get the FBI involved in their recovery.
True to Rebecca Zanetti’s creative writing style, this book is exciting, has humor and is a teaser that is tough to put down. It holds the entire Deep OPs character family, complete with Roscoe, the German Shepherd, that lives and works with the team’s head operative, Angus Force. Of course Wolfe is involved in acting as Tanaka’s cooperative in many scenes. His kitten, Kat, is still a prime character that visits others throughout the novel.
This is Zanetti’s second Deep OPs adventure. Our first intro to the team was Hidden, then the novella, Taken. It appears the series will continue due to the addition of a lead-in chapter of #3 Broken after the completion of the book. Fallen is due to be released on September 24, 2019 by Zebra Books of Kensington Publishing Corp. My gratitude goes out to them for allowing me to read the advance copy of Fallen. It’s a 5 star hit in my eyes!!

I have loved everything this author has written and Fallen is no different. This book was full of secrets, actions, suspense, and romance. Brigid was awesome and Raised was too. I love this series and I seriously can't wait for the next one.

This is book 2 in the Deep Ops series and you absolutely have to read the first book before reading this one otherwise you may be lost. This one is about Brigid Banaghan and Raider Tanaka. Brigid is the computer hacker that we met in the first book and Raider is her handler as long as she is working with them. When they are tasked with an assignment to investigate her father, they must pretend to be closer than they truly are. She is determined to clear his name and Raider is determined to finish the op while still keeping her safe. But Brigid has secrets of her own, and them getting closer just might get them both more hurt than either is planning on.
I absolutely loved this one! I have wanted a story featuring these 2 since they were introduced in the first book, and this in no way disappoints! Brigid definitely has secrets that she can't tell anyone. And I fully understand her reasoning and fears. Raider has his own issues because of his childhood, and watching him work past it was great! They make this great team together, and even though Brigid is not a field operator-she still steps up to the plate and gets things done. There is lots of not only action and suspense but also a chance to fall in love. And after the things that happen in this book? I really can't wait for the next one!! I really need Wolfe's story!! Because that epilogue?? OMG!! I can't wait!!!

Not my first Rebecca Zanetti book and won't be my last based on how much I loved all these characters!
Raider and Brigid are hysterically perfect for each other. Their banter and determination not to lie to each other definitely kept things interesting. Riader is the ultimate macho "much protect the female" and Brigid is the exact opposite. They're determetined to get this opp done...safely and without any losses but their arguing and posturing may get in the way.
Add in a dog that drinks and had a hihh heel fetish, a crazy co-worker with a kitten and some seeiou inter-office tension between Angus Force and the team shrink, Nari and you've got the motlyest group of operatives. The bad guy is literally bats*hit crazy but keeps Riader and the team on their toes for the entire book. Now that is my kinda bad guy.
A phenomenal world built with characters that will hold up for the rest of the series. There's action and suspense, romance and hilarity. Fallen has it all and more.
