Book 3 in the cozy mystery series. Addie is at it again, helping Marc deal with another murder. Like this series overall, but must admit all these people from her past that keep showing up make it confusing at times. Still trying to learn the people in the town, and then more are thrown in. Might just be me. Did like it overall though and would recommend.

3.5 stars rounded up
Not my favorite in the series as it seemed as if the characters were a little contrived, or maybe the situations rang a little false. Addie Greyborn has donated an expensive copy of A Christmas Carol to a charity auction. But the book goes missing when a body is found. Too much talking and theorizing about the case and Addie's love life and not enough showing the events. Still a decent cozy but as enjoyable as others in the series.

I can only say what I’ve been saying, I love this series!!!

If you enjoy books about books, amateur sleuths, friends and fun adventure, you need to pick up this series.

I have the hardest time getting into a series and did not realize this was not the first book. I could not stand some characters, and a backstory would have helped. Perhaps not? The characters were annoying and unlikable, and when the heroine is unlikable like in this series It's hard to read. This one got a big DNF from me.

Another great story with Addie and her bookshop. I loved getting a glimpse into her past. As usual, wonderful characters and a tight mystery. Looking forward to the next one.

I love this Addie Greystone series and this latest book is good. I am getting a little tired of Addie's selfish cousin and I hope that Lauren Elliott will soon make her disappear from the series.

Another good book in the series. Several twists, the mystery kept me guessing. I like the writer's writing style and the book moved along very fast. Very enjoyable read. Though, I hate love triangles. Wrap that up already.

I’m a huge cozy mystery fan and I love a good small town setting. Unfortunately, after three books, I don’t think this series is for me. Addie, the main character, is rather unlikeable and very immature. Some of the other characters are more intriguing, but their interactions seem more like those of high schoolers. I felt like this had potential but after several books with very little character development, I’m just not really invested.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the complimentary digital review copy of this title.

Addie Greyborne is getting ready for the holidays and part of her preparations include attending a charity auction where she has donated a first edition of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Things don't go well because the auction coordinator has fallen down the stairs to her death and the book is missing!

Addie is sure that she was murdered and that the book was the motive!

Good mystery and characters developing well! Look forward to the next one.

Addie Greyborne is back to investigate the murder of hospital personnel in charge of the auction to benefit the hospital. After finding that her aunt's first edition copy of A Christmas Carol is valued around five figures, Addie decides to help out by giving the copy to the auction. Now the curator is dead and her book is missing. This is a book that can be read as a standalone or as book 3 in the series. I enjoyed both previous books but felt there was a bit much going on here. Even though I enjoyed myself most of the time, parts of the book seemed to drag just a bit.

Wasn't a fan. Addie is so constantly combative it's a wonder she has any suitors at all. The setting is always nice, and the mysteries are interesting. Addie is just an immensely unlikable character.

This is the third book in the A Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery. This is the first I have read out of the series. I would not really recommend reading it as a stand alone book.

Addie and Serena are working together to solve the mystery of Teresa's death and must find the valuable antique book which Addie has donated to the Hospital's Fundraising event, and went missing. With the help of Simon, a friend/admirer and discouragement of Marc an ex who is still attracted to her the mystery is solved. Will Addie ever make up her mind between her two suitors?

I really don’t care for the character of Addie. I felt like she was immature and the back and forth of who she has feelings for was more annoying than anything. She was just not very likable to me and that put me off from wanting to read more. This was not a bad book, it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Lauren Elliott gives us another Beyond the Page Bookstore mystery with Murder in the First Edition. Addie Greybourne donates her first edition of a Christmas Carol by Dickens for a charity auction. The book is stolen and the manager of the auction is found dead by Addie. Meanwhile her almost father in law Jonathan appears suspiciously out of the past. Addie has complicated relations with law enforcement as she has helped solve previous murders. A blizzard and rocky relationships complicate things. Lots of red herrings. Read and enjoy.

Murder in the First Edition is the third book in the Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery Series.. I haven't read the previous stories, so though there is some history there between the characters, I had no problem jumping right in. This was such a fun story! I was hooked from the beginning.

Our heroine, Addie, owns Beyond the Page Bookstore. Addie donates a vintage copy of A Christmas Carol to a charity auction. When the auction's organizer is found dead and the book goes missing, Addie decides to do a little investigating on her own. In addition, Addie's deceased boyfriend's father, who is himself a man of mysterious background shows up. Addie feels that his timing for a brief holiday visit is very suspicious, especially since he met the victim earlier in the day.

It's clear that Addie has a history with police chief Mark, but also has feelings for county coroner Simon. Although I enjoy a little romance in my cozy mysteries, the love triangle aspect of this book was a little off-putting. I admit, I have not read the previous books in the series, and maybe I'd be more invested in one man over the other if I had, but I just wish that Addie would make a decision.

Overall, the mystery was good and it had lots of different possibilities. I enjoyed this book and would recommend to others looking for a fun cozy mystery. I'll also be looking for other books in this series. Thanks to #NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I enjoyed this book so much that I didn't want to put it down. It captured my attention from the first few pages and kept my attention to the end. The book is well-written and flows smoothly. I would love to visit Addie's bookstore, but I guess that I'll just have to wait until the next book.

This is one of the first books I have read by this author and it didn't disappoint. The plot was very well written and developed organically. The characters were also well developed and lovely to visit with. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

The third book in the Beyond the Page mystery series by Lauren Elliot is Murder in the First Edition. Addie has donated an 1843 copy of A Christmas Carol to the hospital charity auction. When Addie stops by the hospital to give the authentication paperwork to Teresa, the woman over the auction, Addie finds Teresa dead and the rare book missing. The mystery was interesting, but Addie comes close to completely ruining the book. She refuses to act with any ounce of maturity, and I wondered over and over why the two men interested in her just did not cut their loses and move on. I am confused by a grown woman who crosses her fingers behind her back when lying. This is the first book in the series that I have read so I will give it at least one more try.

This is book 3 in the Beyond the Page Bookstore and it could be read as a stand alone but you'll want to read the first two books for background. Addie is running her bookstore and looking for books to donate to the auction for the local hospital. With a storm on the way to her small New England town she see's her dead fiance's father outside her shop. He's in town for a meeting and that afternoon Addie finds Teresa's dead body. Now he's the main suspect in her murder. Good mystery to solve and she finally accepts the fact it's time to move forward with two men vying for her attention. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

As the third in the “Beyond the Page Bookstore Mystery Series”, <Murder in the First Edition</i> had a particularly interesting setting and main character but was not without a few flaws which I hope are worked out in future entries.

This was a quick, light read for the holiday season with a bit more emphasis on multiple relationships with a variety of characters and than the murder and book theft. I was initially attracted to the series by Addie’s background in libraries and rare books as well as the bookstore and small-town setting. But, despite the series title, I was disappointed that there wasn’t more depth to those aspects of the story.

While I was interested in the various characters, I did have a little trouble keeping them straight. Even though Elliot did a nice job of providing a bit of their back stories, some points were unnecessarily repeated and/or not developed in this book. This meant that the story was a bit too scattered with multiple characters, relationships and storylines - superficial and less developed for my taste. For example, both of Addie’s romantic interests were described in similar terms. While I understand she was emotionally torn between the two, there wasn’t enough contrast for this reader. Likewise, I found the details of the “nor-easter”, particularly the timeline, could have been more carefully laid out and had an even bigger impact on the story.

A pleasant series with potential…

FYI - I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
