Carol Perry writes a good story with interesting characters and a page-turning pace. An entertaining paranormal cozy that delivers a fresh perspective.

Yay! This was 1000x better than the last installment of this series. I love this series but was underwhelmed with the last book so it was great to have things back on track in the new one.

I did receive an ARC so there were quite a few formatting errors that made for some difficult reading in some chapters.

I like how this novel delves into WICH tv's past and introduces some new characters. Not sure if we will see them pop up in future novels but if they do, there is plenty of material that can be explored.

I enjoyed this book - the characters, the mystery and the town. I love how Aunt Ibby always gets involved in solving the mystery with her research skills. There is a lot going on, but it is never overwhelming to the main story.

I adore this series!!! Carol J. Perry is one of the most descriptive cozy writers out there, you really feel like you're in the town of Salem truly experiencing the mystery along with Lee. It's a magical realism/cozy mystery series and it adds so much fun to the reading experience. In this installment we follow Lee as she unravels a mystery involving some of the old employees of WICH_TV, all while the October events of Salem are going on. The mystery has a lot of depth as usual and even though I had figured it out by the end, I still enjoyed every minute of the book. Lee, River, Aunt Ibby, Pete and O'Ryan have become friends and I can't wait to read more.

Late Checkout is a fantastic cozy mystery that is a must read for the year. Well written and fantastic characters. I will buy this book for gifts.

This series is first rate, with great characters, a paranormal theme and intriguing whodunit.
I strongly recommend you read this series in order and I cannot wait to read the next one.

I figured this one out pretty early on and some parts are a bit repetitive to previous installments. For me there were more variations to the stories when Lee was at the school rather than a reporter at WICH-TV. I'm still a fan of this series and will read the next one.

This is a great series, fast paced, plenty of strong, colorful characters, and always an interesting mystery to solve.
It's Halloween in Salem, MA and Lee is a bit out off as her hours at WICH TV have been reduced.
When Lee becomes involved in the stations anniversary celebration, she is reminded of all the wonderful television shows she watched when she was a child.
When a mysterious death takes place in the library, Lee unfortunately is the one to discover the body. Thankfully, Lee has her boyfriend, Pete to protect her, and soon Lee and her aunt begin unraveling the secrets of the victim.
I really enjoy this series, I love Salem and anything witch related. I like Lee as a character, she is smart, talented, and is always ready to find out the truth.

Another great installment of this cozy mystery taking place in Salem, Massachusetts. Lee’s hours have been cut at the station to give her boss’s nephew airtime to kickstart his career, so Lee decides to use her extra time volunteering at the library alongside Aunt Ibby. Because death follows her everywhere, of course she finds a body on her first shift!
The mystery is a good one- evidence pointing to no one and everyone at the same time. No clear motive either! As usual, Lee is told to leave it alone, she gets her visions, and her cat helps her in the right direction. The series remains as addictive as ever!

Fans of Perry's Witch City series will not be disappointed with this latest offering. Lee, Aunt Ibby, Pete, and O'Ryan are back for another adventure involving the library, sports memorabilia, and (of course) murder. Perry continues to flesh out the relationship between Lee and Pete, and keeps Lee firmly grounded in her career as a news reporter for WICH-TV. There's a formula here, but one that Perry uses to her advantage. While the basics remain the same (Lee's scrying ability, O'Ryan's uncanny precognition, River's tarot readings, Aunt Ibby's reading and research skills, Lee's fondness for fashion, breakfast, and late-night ice cream) Perry successfully manages to build a fresh and clever story each time she writes. Recommended for cozy mystery fans.

I have yet to read a book in the Witch City Mystery series that I didn’t like. The writing is descriptive and clever. The plots is always entertaining and the characters are fun. Late Checkout takes place in Salem, Mass. Lee is a field reporter for WICH-TV and has some supernatural powers that make her a natural investigator. When a former minor league baseball player is found deceased surrounded by scattered books with torn-out pages in the local library, Lee is on the scene. This book kept my interest until the very end. Readers will enjoy the red herrings along the way. Late Checkout is a fantastic fall reading choice.

I really enjoyed this book. Until the end. Without wanting to give too much away, I didn't like that the epilogue, which took place some time after the ending of the book, still kept the out of body tone to it and I'm really hoping that it wasn't setting the stage for the next book. Other than that, it was a delightful read. I always enjoy the cast of characters (this is the next book in a series. While it CAN be ready as a stand alone, I recommend reading the others to fill background that's often referenced)

This is another in a cozy paranormal mystery series that keeps you turning the pages. The characters are interesting and the setting in Salem cool. I have enjoyed all of Ms. Perry's books and hope for more. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

I adore this series and Halloween in Salem is always a hit! The clever whodunit leaves quite a few red herrings and concludes by wrapping everything together and connecting all he dots. Another great entry in the Witch City Series.

I do love the setting and premise of these books; it's obvious the author knows her hometown well although she admits to changing some details to better suit the novel. It adds a real home town appeal that works throughout, and makes Lee a more beliveable character. I've read a few books in this series now, and it definitely ties in a real Witchy feel but not in an overwhleming way; Lee has visions but they're unreliable and often don't make sense until much later. Her friend River features as well, and her Tarot readings can have an impact on the plot as well.

The only thing I didn't like was the meandering path getting to the killer took; I felt like it was so obvious from the get go with one character all shady, but Lee, Pete and Ibby seem to overlook the most obvious clues. That was frustrating. I did like the eventual mystery and explanation though, it was just the time it took to get there.

Hopefully we see Lee more on the job in the next one too; I liked the investigating part but I also like her interviews. She interacts really well with her workmates too, and even though she keeps saying she has all this time on her hands to volunteer she spends a lot of time down at the station in this book, just not with some of the old crowd.

This was a fun addition to the series with only a few small letdowns for me. I enjoyed it as a whole and the eventual publishing might be a little tighter and more polished. Four stars.

Loved this book! This is a wonderful murder mystery set in Salem and out just in time for Halloween. Lee is a reporter for the local news channel and Pete is her detective boyfriend, when Lee stumbles upon a dead body. She begins reporting on it, and investigating the deceased, even as Pete is investigating the homicide.

As they investigate, Lee gets the chance to delve into the history of her news channel, along with beloved characters from her favorite shows when she was a young child. However, as one might expect, meeting your childhood idols is a mixed bag, both much better and much worse than one might expect. Add in the crazy costumes that they used to wear and weave in a compelling mystery and you've got a great tale that kept me completely engaged.

Each book in this series is better than the one before. I love how the characters have grown and developed over the series and can't wait to read more about them. Each book is a stand alone novel.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. Put it at the top of your TBR as it's the must read seasonal release this fall. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Regardless of what is in my TBR list the books in this series always go to the top and I read as soon as I download the ARC.
I love this series and this book met all my expectations.
I'm always fascinated by the descriptions of Salem and I like the Halloween atmosphere described.
There's always a very good character development and it was great to meet again the cast of characters.
The mystery is good, it kept me guessing and I liked the ending even if it wasn't completely unexpected.
I look forward to reading the next instalment in this series.

This book is as good as all the others in the series. I'd like to see more progress in the relationship between Lee and Pete. And I thought that the idea that the killer used a costume to get in and out of the library was very obvious much sooner than the characters get the idea. But I really liked all the details in the book, the sports, the look at all the history and the plethora of characters. #LateCheckout #NetGalley
