This was a great collection of Christmas novellas by some of my favorite authors. I love reading Christmas books and this collection had all the festive feel-goods I would expect from these authors. They were the perfect stories for a cold winter day and a cup of hot chocolate. They certainly put me into the holiday spirit.

This has some great authors pulling stories together, unfortunately I wasn’t fully invested into the stories.

It’s a challenge to give one rating to three novellas, especially when they’re a mixed bag. Madeline Hunter’s story of Stockholm syndrome in the countryside gets three stars (the main couple had sweet chemistry, but she still kidnapped him). Sabrina Jeffries’s accidental abduction leading to true love gets three and a half stars (partly because I just like the rest of the series it fits into). Mary Jo Putney’s tale of cultural appropriation and othering gets one star.
Putney needs to read Edward Said’s Orientalism. And to think long and hard about this: someone else’s culture is not your costume. Dressing your English ladies in “sensual” Indian clothing to do an “exotic” dance for the amusement of their peers is not okay. Not even if something like that might have happened in that time period. This book was published in 2019, not 1819, and we all need to be more aware of how we’re appropriating and stereotyping cultures different from ours.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

Sometimes a reader just needs a historical, snow-filled romance to get through a tough time. This book is perfect for just that. Containing multiple romances that soothe the soul., I highly recommend this purchase for any library.

Showed in romances are such a fun theme. By far my favorite was from Sabrina Jeffries, who best writes a novella that feels complete.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trio of historical romances. My favorite was Sabrina Jeffries's story with Madeline Hunter's story not far behind. I couldn't quite get into Mary Jo Putney's story, which is why I couldn't give this trio five stars. I would still recommend this book to any and all readers of romance!

I intended only to read the SabrinaJeffries story but ended up reading all of them each story was a nice wintry escape. Pour some tea or hot cocoa and curl up in front of a fire, these stories are warm, cozy, and love able.

What a delight to have stories from some of my favorite authors together in one book. As a bonus they each bring in old friends from previous books. I love when authors do that. It catches the reader up on the lives of well liked characters. Plus they have given us more likeable characters to enjoy.
Madeline Hunter's novella starts with the abduction of Baron Thornhill, Adam Prescott. Caro!one Dunham blames him for seducing her younger sister. He is a rake, but is he guilty?
Sabrina Jeffries' novella starts with Colonel Heywood Wolfe abducting Cassandra Isles and her cousin Kitty in order to save Kitty from Captain Malet, the villain. Heywood is protecting her for Kitty's brother, who is his best friend and fellow soldier. Does he succeed in saving Kitty and her inheritance? Although he also needs an heiress to save his rundown estate, will be give into his attraction for Cass?
Mary Jo Putney's story is one I have wanted to read since I read Once a Scoundrel and was introduced to lady Diana Lawrence. In a world where women are second class citizens with few choices, she is a well traveled, strong, independent woman with a mind of her own. After returning to England she attends a masquerade ball and there is surprised to find Anthony Raines, a love from her past. He proposed seven years ago, she left. Will they reconnect? Will they be able to forgive each other to find love once again?
I really enjoyed by his anthology. It seemed to wrap up some loose ends from previous books and in Ms. Jeffries case starts another trial with her villain appearing in her next book. If you are a fan of any of these authors of even if you are not, you are in for a real treat.

All three stories were very well written with enjoyable story lines. Look forward to reading any new stories from these authors.

Whew, this was a good book. Each one of the authors who contributed to this book are talented and amazing storytellers. Seduction on a Snowy Night was definitely not boring ;)

Historical romance written by its best romance authors. This book was not only romantic but very wintery. Meaning when I read it, the weather was so gloomy outside, literally the storyline warmed my soul with all bubbliness and feel me good plot.
Loved it!

I enjoyed this Christmas anthology. All three books were well written and I enjoyed reading them. My favorite was One Wicked Winter Night by Mary Jo Putney that featured a second chance romance for two people that were torn apart when they were younger. I liked that Diana and Anthony were older.
I also enjoyed A Perfect Match by Sabrina Jeffries. Cass does not want anyone in the ton to know that she has a fortune so her cousin can find her husband first. When an unscrupulous fortune hunter is after cousin Kitty, Cass will do anything to protect her. Lord Heywood Wolfe was sent by Kitty's brother to let her know about the fortune hunter. Heywood takes Kitty and Cass to his estate and slowly starts to realize that Cass is the one who has been writing the letters. I enjoyed Kitty and Heywood's HEA and wish the book was longer.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher.

This is a three story book. If you like novellas this book is for you. These book is great read for the holiday season. My favorite is by Sabrina Jeffries. She is an amazing author. Guys pick this book up.

Last night I was trying to get in the Christmas spirit so I put on some Bublé and read Seduction on a Snowy Night, an anthology of Christmas novellas.
The Seduction on a Snowy Night novellas are: 1️⃣ A Christmas Abduction, Madeline Hunter; 2️⃣ A Perfect Match, Sabrina Jeffries; 3️⃣ One Wicked Winter’s Night, also by Mary Jo Putney. Here’s the situation: I liked the first, disliked the second, and actively hated the third.
A Christmas Abduction: I loved that the nobles doing chores, like Caro with the dishes and her dad with work as needed. It's nice to have this kind of egalitarian take in historical.
The needing to be helped out of wet clothes trope is common but the way MH gets here is completely delightful.
A Perfect Match: I loved the relationship between Kitty and the female protagonist. They’re a great pair. And kitty would be easy to write terribly but shes not in this.
However the characters and situations are zero to a hundred in a seconds:from whispering then shouting.
Also it's important to note that a penis is described as a “reddened rod of flesh” which is ... I mean, I don't even really have words for it.
One Wicked Winter Night: MJP writes beautifully. “More sensible and less captured”
But I really didn’t feel comfortable with the way cultural elements were borrowed and exploited by white protagonists. It seemed really insensitive in the context of England’s colonisation of India and seriously lacking in awareness considering it was published (and I assume written) this year. I expect WAY better from a 2019 release. There’s a great review of this novella on Smart Bitches Trashy Books from Aarya which goes into detail about this. Her review explains the problems very well. I was like, ‘yes, it’s very that! Thanks for putting my feelings into words',

A CHRISTMAS ABDUCTION by Madeline Hunter
Adam Prescott, the Baron Thornhill, is on his way to his cousin’s home for the holidays, but before he can make it, he is kidnapped. Once Adam realizes who has kidnapped him, he thinks it’s because his cousin cheated the family in a matter of horseflesh. However, Caro’s motives are for a more personal nature, and she’s determined to have Adam comply with her demands.
Adam and Caro are forced into close proximity for several days and a mutual attraction grows to friendship and admiration. I loved how earnest Adam is; such a gentleman, and he loves Caro. It was pretty obvious how things would go down, but it was still a joy to read. Overall, I really liked this story. My Rating: B+
A PERFECT MATCH by Sabrina Jeffries
Cass is trying to find a love match for her younger cousin, Kitty, who has a rather large dowry. Meanwhile, Cass hides her own inheritance because she was hurt by a man who only wanted her for her dowry. Lord Heywood Wolfe is a friend of Kitty’s brother, Douglas. He promised Douglas that he’d prevent Captain Malet from marrying Kitty, meanwhile Douglas gave Heywood his blessing to marry his sister.
I specifically picked up this anthology because of Ms. Jeffries story (I greatly enjoyed the first book in the series.) I did like the premise and set up; I enjoyed how Heywood and Cass figure out the truths of one another. However, I felt the penultimate conflict was a bit over-dramatic with Heywood blowing things out of proportion. However, the story ended how it should, and overall, it was a good read. My Rating: B
ONE WICKED WINTER’S NIGHT by Mary Jo Putney
This is a second chance romance between Lady Diana Lawerence, who has lived abroad over several years, and Anthony Raines, the Duke of Castleton. She left him abruptly after he proposed seven years ago.
This one was okay - it had a lot of promise, and I enjoyed the premise, but it was a bit hokey at times. He kidnaps her cat to get her to come to him. But I liked the second chance aspect. My Rating: B-
Overall, Seduction on a Snowy Night is a fun, sweet, entertaining historical anthology. I enjoyed the stories, which are centered on the winter/holiday season.
My Rating: B, Liked It

There are three stories by the Grand Dames of historical authors, Madeline Hunter, Sabrina Jeffries, and Mary Jo Putney. There are great novellas and all have a story relating to some kind of Christmas tale. The characters are all entertaining and engaging. Their writing style keeps you reading. They are wonderful books.
A Christmas Abduction by Madeline Hunter, Adam was abducted by Caroline with her friend, Jason's help.
A perfect Match by Sabrina Jeffries, Kitty is young and Naive. Cass has been hurt and does not trust men and worry's about her cousin. There is a nasty Captain who wishes to force the issue.
One Wicked Night by Mary Jo Putney, Anthony Raines, Duke of Castleton, Met Lady Diana Lawrence, they had met and had fallen in love Seven years before. His father was an evil man. He was cruel to Anthony and chased away Diana. She left England to do some traveling not knowing for sure if she would ever come back.
I received this ARC from the authors and voluntarily reviewed them.

There's nothing more enjoyable at this time of year than to read three short stories by three of my favorite historical romance authors!
In "A Christmas Abduction" by Madeline Hunter, Caroline Dunham has a bone to pick with the notorious rake, Baron Thornhill, and devises a creative plan to insure his undivided attention.
Cassandra Isles and her cousin are whisked away from a wintry ball by the officer she knew only through letters and realizes that Colonel Lord Heywood is "A Perfect Match" for her this Christmas. (Sabrina Jeffries)
In "One Wicked Winter Night" by Mary Jo Putney, Lady Diana Lawrence is shocked to discover that the mysterious corsair who tempts her away from a costume ball is the duke she once loved and lost.
Thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for an ARC; all opinions are my own.

Have already offered this book for sale at my store and did well hand selling it - it was a very enjoyable holiday read! Enjoy books by all the authors

Christmas stories by three of my all-time favorite authors - what a holiday treat! Each one is special - emotional and just the right touch of holiday spirit...

A CHRISTMAS ABDUCTION by Madeline Hunter (4.0)
Caroline Dunham’s younger sister is pregnant, and has revealed that Adam Prescott is the father. Caroline, hoping to force Adam to own up to his responsibility, has kidnapped him. Though Adam keeps assuring Caroline that she’s mistaken, she won’t be swayed. Her abduction skills, however, leave something to be desired, and Adam shows that he can easily escape. He chooses to stay, and to Caroline’s surprise, helps her. This man seems nothing like the kind of man who would seduce and abandon a young lady. How can Caroline possibly be falling for him herself? What if her selfish younger sister is not telling the truth? A CHRISTMAS ABDUCTION is a sweet story of a misguided lady trying to do the right thing for her family, and a charming (formerly rakish) man who finds love in a most unusual way.
A PERFECT MATCH by Sabrina Jeffries (3.5)
Cassandra Isles was deceived by a fortune hunter before, and she’s determined to never fall into that trap again. She now keeps the fact that she’s an heiress secret, and vows to only marry a man who loves her for herself. When she meets Colonel Lord Heywood Wolfe, they share an instant rapport and attraction. Heywood is a good friend of Cassandra’s cousin, and he became entranced with her through the letters she wrote to her cousin, which he shared as they both served as soldiers. Heywood is anxious to leave the life of a soldier behind and restore the home and property he’s inherited. The problem is, he has only the property, but no funds. He needs to find an heiress, though his heart wants Cassandra. This star-crossed couple seems destined to be at cross purposes, though, in truth, they are exactly what the other needs. A PERFECT MATCH is waiting for them if they can just overcome their little deceptions.
ONE WICKED WINTER NIGHT by Mary Jo Putney (4.5)
Lady Diana Lawrence is returning home to England after a seven year absence, in which she traveled and became a successful businesswoman. In all those years, she never met a man who could measure up to Anthony Raines, her first love. Anthony is now Duke of Castleton, and is sometimes known as The Disappearing Duke, because of his avoidance of social events and marriage minded ladies. He, too, has never found a love to surpass the one he shared with Diana while he was only nineteen. He’s persuaded to attend a masquerade, which he finds very freeing, as his identity is kept secret. He shares a dance with a lady, who, much to his shock, turns out to be Diana, when they unmask. His still strong feelings shake him, and he’s unsure how to respond. Anthony decides to pursue a new relationship with Diana, but first he must learn why she refused his proposal and left the country all those years ago. Though Diana still feels the magical attraction to Anthony, she has secrets that she doesn’t want to share with him. Will Anthony and Diana be able to grab the new beginning fate has offered them? Perhaps with the help of a cat named Panda? ONE WICKED WINTER NIGHT is a poignant second chance at love story, and is my favorite of the collection.
