I enjoyed this story a bit more than the first book in the series. I found the characters better drawn and the chemistry between them is off the charts as are the scenes.
The mystery of where their father is hiding or what happened exactly has a lot of layers that are unfolding one by one and bring a great addition to the story overall.
There are trust issues, there's suspense and there's love that will always overcome everything no matter what we tell ourselves.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Interesting take on writing in this series Each one tells the story from a different perspective While at the same time each book is the story of a different couple

The story revolves around a camp for wealthy guests and the disappearance of the Costa father. At the same time we get a the love story of Liam and Elle you don'e really need to read the first book to follow the story however as the writing is so flawless I would recommend that you

Elle is devastated by the recent death of her grandfather who raised her. Fortunately, she has her three best friends, the wildflowers as a support system. Together, they rebuild her grandfather’s camp where they met as children. Only this time, the camp is for “snow birds.”

Liam and his brothers are hired to work at a new camp for “snow birds” while they investigate the primary owner who they believe is their father’s mistress and may know something about his disappearance. While all three brothers follow the five wildflowers, Liam chooses Elle as his “target.” Much to his surprise, he finds himself drawn to her and quickly decides that she doesn’t have anything to do with his father’s disappearance.

Liam and Elle are drawn to each other, but can two people with secrets and trust issues ever find happiness together?

Sexy and a little sentimental, Summer Heat is a great addition to this fun series. While I enjoyed the first book, Summer Nights, it got bogged down by the many characters involved in the story. Anyone who reads this as a standalone will probably feel the same about this book, but those who have read the first are not likely to have an issue keeping up. With a much more focused romance, I found this to be a satisfying read.

The story follows Elle, one of five friends who recently opened a camp for adults. She doesn’t have the best experience with men, but she finds herself attracted to Liam... despite the fact that she knows he’s keeping secrets. One of three brothers who recently started working at the camp, Liam seems to be snooping around a lot. The two are a little mistrustful of each other but a lot attracted, so they tentatively start something between them. Secrets stand in their way, and they have to work through them before they can have something lasting.

There are a lot of things that worked better in this story for me than the last, especially the increased focus on the romance and the lack of deception between Elle and Liam. Sure, they both have secrets but that’s out in the open so it didn’t feel slimy. I also really enjoyed Liam - he may be young, but his sole focus was Elle from the start. It was easy to feel the chemistry and root for them. While the overarching storyline for the series got a little overwhelming at times, it didn’t take away from the book as a whole. I’m definitely curious about the next book, since these all follow along the same timeline and we’ve gotten glimpses of what that story will entail. I received an ARC via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Summer Heat by Jill Sanders a five-star read that will bring the heat. This is the second story in the Wildflowers series and in my opinion it is so much better than the first, maybe it was as I knew the characters so much better or just that we got into the pace all I know is I enjoyed this immensely. Elle Saunders was the quiet one in my mind, the one who has seemingly lost the most, but in some ways, she was also the one who gained the most. This is a thrilling story and one that will warm even the coldest of hearts. Part of that reason is Liam Costa, a man who has a way with his hands and can make magic out of wood, just like the magic in this story. Number three can’t come soon enough!! I need to get back to camp.

Summer Heat is a wonderful story that layers itself with the first book of this series, but can be easily red as a stand alone. I have enjoyed all of the characters and the storyline and i can't wait for the rest of this series. Elle and Liam have a wonderful chemistry and fit well together. I have enjoyed watching the characters and storyline grow.

Summer Heat is Book 2 in Jill Sanders' Wildflowers series. To date, this has been a fun series. I've enjoyed each one. This story overlaps partially with Book One and then continues on from there. Elle and Liam had a great connection right from the start. The author certainly downplayed the crazy antics of the campers this time around. I can't wait to get my hands on Book Three!

Elle finds love with Liam!

Elle Saunders and the rest of her friends called the Wildflowers inherited the run down summer camp that they attended when they were young and from Elle’s grandfather. They decided to renovate everything into a get-away camp for adults.

One of first hires that Elle and her friends made was the Costa brothers because they needed to search the camp area because they were looking for their father who hadn’t answered his phone or messages for over six months. Liam Costa fit right in working at the camp but he was especially interesting in Elle Saunders because they thought that Elle might have an idea of where there father was at.

Summer Heat is the second book in the Wildflowers series but there is enough back-story that I was able to enjoy the story without re-reading the first book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I so desperately wanted to love this book, but ALAS, I did not. Everything was just SO INTENSE. Such an interesting premise, but too many adverbs, and the characters' dialogue doesn't feel as authentic as it could.

I love these books! Jill does a great job with her characters and story telling. That being said, the beginning of this book was a little slow for me. I think I personally struggled with the over lapping of the two stories. I felt like too much time was spent retelling the parts I already knew about.

Still loved the book. Can’t wait for the next.

4.25⭐

Summer Heat was an interesting multi layered engaging story. That really pulled me in thanks to the unique way it tells the same story I enjoyed in Summer Nights. But from a whole fresh perspective with Elle and Liam taking centre stage. Yet, it also moves the original story further on providing fresh details about the three Costa brothers search for their dad and the Wild flowers themselves, who are all delightful and entertaining characters. And at times, it was quite honestly exceedingly hard to put down, and very pleasing to read. And I can't wait to read more from this series in the future.

Would happily recommend.

SUMMER HEAT is the second book in the “Wildflowers” series by Jill Sanders. This is a great book for readers who enjoy a series built around a group of tightknit friends. SUMMER HEAT’s prologue gives the reader an introduction to the friendship that formed between Elle, Hannah, Scarlet, Aubrey, and Zoey – “The Wildflowers”, as well as the bond between Elle and her grandfather Joe. In SUMMER HEAT, Elle Saunders shares ownership with River Camp with her BFFs and creates a snowbird retreat camp. The friendships in SUMMER HEAT are reminiscent of the ones in Nora Roberts’ wonderful “Bride Quartet” series.

River Camp is a realized dream for Elle, but Liam Costa and his brothers wander into camp and shake up her world. Liam and his brother have secrets and a hidden agenda when it comes to Elle and her camp – nothing sinister, but things they feel must remain hidden. Thankfully, since there are so many secrets, Jill Sanders tells this story from alternating perspectives so that the reader gets some insight into the main characters. Elle is reluctant to get involved with Liam because, initially, she can tell he’s hiding something and because of her relationship in the past with her abusive ex. For Liam, his complicated relationship with his father makes him cautious about having something long-term with Elle. The sexual tension between Elle and Liam is through the roof, and the flirtations eventually lead to some steamy encounters. I like how the relationship between this couple evolves over the course of SUMMER HEAT. The building of trust leads to a deeper connection as Elle and Liam get to know each other better.

SUMMER HEAT is summer love at its finest with terrific character-driven storytelling. I love the characters and their complex relationships in this book. Although this is the second book in the series, this is the only book I’ve read so far. After reading SUMMER HEAT, I look forward to reading the next book in the series as well as going back for the first one.

2 stars
Had a hard time getting into this book. The problem for me was, if you don't read the series in order, you are a little lost, to be honest. Also, I didn't love the plot of this book with the while summer camp backstory.

Hot Summer Love

In the second book in the Wildflowers series we get a front row seat to Elle and Liam’s love story. This series does have some repeat of locations and timelines that was a little unnecessary if you read the first book. Although overall didn’t detract from the story but at times felt unnecessary. However the writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating. I was expecting, many of these moments. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Authors Blurb: Though Elle Saunders grew up in Florida, life hasn’t always been sunny. When she and her best friends take over the summer camp where they met as kids, things start looking up. But the camp, now a sexy getaway for wealthy guests looking for fun and romance, is definitely a handful. And the hunky brothers she hired to help manage things aren’t making life any easier especially that
Liam Costa wrangled this job to confront the woman he thought had seduced his father and lured him away from the family business. But Liam didn’t count on Elle being so mesmerizingly beautiful, and suddenly he’s having trouble focusing on, well, anything but her. Elle and Liam have been dancing around each other all summer. He’s powerfully drawn to her, and she to him, but Elle doesn’t trust herself with love. She’s had bad luck with men, and he’s a sexy distraction she can’t afford.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

Jill is a new to me author. Good book, good story. I’m looking forward to reading more about the Costa men and finding out what’s up with their dad!

I typically love Jill Sanders books...but I couldn't get into this one. For me, it's almost the same story as the previous in this series. While the characters are different, and the relationship is different, it takes place over the exact same time frame and feels very repetitive because of that.

Elle’s grandfather left his camp for kids to Elle and her four friends ... the Wildflowers. They hire the Costa Brothers to help them with the renovations, so they can open the camp for new clientele ... Snowbirds. Liam Costa loves to work with his hands and was hired on for his carpentry work. When Elle and Liam meet the sparks fly, but Liam doesn’t act on his feelings because he believes that Elle is his father’s mistress.

This is a cute summer romance ... I laughed and swooned. You can read this book as a standalone, but I would suggest reading the first book ... it would make this book easier to follow as there is a part of the story that continues from the first book and continues through this book into the next book. I presume there will be a book for each of the five Wildflowers.

I received an early copy courtesy of Montlake Romance through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

I would like to think each of the books in this series can be read as a standalone, but if you have not read Book 1, this will be tough to get into. That said, I actually read Book 1 -- which is why I happily picked up Book 2 -- and I still had a hard time getting into this.

The backstory elements, just told from a slightly different point of view, were uninteresting. It felt awkward how the author tried to puzzle piece Zoey's story with Elle's story. The match up in timing on the elements weren't smooth. Additionally, the chemistry didn't grow organically for Liam and Elle. Things certainly got better once we broke away from the shared timeline so this couple can have their own path.

I'm curious about Hannah and Owen, but as Book 2 was blah, I'm not sure if Book 3 will be any better.

Ellie grew up with her grandfather and now is trying to find a way to cope with the loss. Her and a group of friends, they call themselves the wildflowers, are trying to find a way to reopen a resort at the River Camp where they spent their summers growing up into the women they are today. Liam and his brothers take jobs at the camp in Hope's of finding their missing father.

As they work together, it a romance starts to unfold. I love the quirky and unique moments in this books. I read it as a stand alone but want to read the first Wildflowers book to understand some subplot and character growth. The author makes one sweet and sexy romance and I cannot wait to read another!

If you read book 1, Dylan and Zoey's story, then a lot of this book will be a repeat. The two stories are being told from the same timeframe just another couples perspective. I hope book 3 is not set up this way. Maybe a prologue would work instead. Other than that, I did enjoy Elle and Liam's story.
