I really wanted to like this book. The synopsis held so much promise, but the book failed to deliver as much as I hoped for from it. I enjoyed it well enough, but with a few tweaks it could have been an even more enjoyable read.

A beautifully written book. Really enjoyed reading this. Thanks to publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read.

Actually, this book has been waiting to be read on my Kindle for a looooong time... And I don't even know why took me so long!!
I liked this story a lot.
Haley goes to live with his old brother. It's closer to campus and cheaper so it is a good decision. Or that's what she thinks until she finds out she will be living with Cade. He will be their roommate, too.
And Cade is gorgeous. As in drop dead gorgeous. And he is not what I was expecting...
I'm this book you will find good characters, steamy scenes and romanticism, too.
I enjoyed it a great deal. And when I finished it, I couldn't stop smiling.

NA romance. Not a great deal of character development for the H/h. Cade comes across as cute, even though he's a player and is pretty mean to the casual dates/women, he brings home. I've read plenty of NA romances but unfortunately I'm not enamored with this one. Haley who is attending college, has a new boyfriend she but also can't stop thinking about Cade, her roommate and brother's friend.

I'm a bit over this one, at only a few chapters in. The writing is okay but could be better (author's favourite words - literally, totally etc) and there are lots of side characters - so maybe some setting up for following books. Sorry, but I don't care about any of the characters enough to love this one, although it's quite readable and steamy in parts. Lots of readers have enjoyed this book, so maybe I'm the wrong age demographic for this one. My thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in return for my opinion.

I don't know why I didn't give feedback sooner on this book, but it must have been because it wasn't memorable at all and I completely forgot.

WARNING: doormat heroine. Seriously, authors should stop writing these kinds of characters. It is even worse when you realize it was written by a woman.

This book is just... everything!!! The chemistry between these characters is off the charts and was so insanely fun to read about! Their relationship was beautiful, fun, and deep and I can’t stop thinking about it! I absolutely 100% recommend this book!!!

(Thank you netgalley for the arc!)

I often find with my books that I read, if I go in blind and don't know too much about the story, then my expectations aren't dashed and I can find myself enjoying it more than I probably would have - had I known what to fully expect. In Book #1 To Be Your Girl by Rae Kennedy we meet Hayley aka Hales who is transferring colleges and going to live with her older brother Tucker and his roommate Cade. We didn't get a full insight into why she transferred and I wonder if there was a reason but Hale moves in with her brother and his friend and starts attending the local college. Cade - her brother's best friend is a total manwhore and playboy as he has a different girl each night and he is sexy to boot. Since Hales can't have him, she ends up dating a guy in one of her classes Adam who seems like the perfect gentleman - it is a huge "emphasis" on the seems as his true colors start to show and he is total douchey. During this time nursing her broken heart and since her older brother seems to be away a lot at his girlfriend Ali's house - Hales and Cade start to fall into bed with one another and a romance starts to blossom. What will happen though when Tucker finds out and blows his top and then Cade is offered his dream job which means he has to move cities? Is this relationship over before it even started or will the pair find their way back to one another despite countless protests from friends and family? Will Hales get a chance to be Cade's Girl or have they missed their opportunity and moved on to other people? Find out in Book #1 To Be Your Girl by Rae Kennedy.

This book unfortunately wasn't my cup of tea so I did end up DNF'ing the book. I was attracted to the plot of this book but unfortunately did not meet my expectations.

Read this book last year through a netgalley copy and it was way more than I could have expected it to be. It was a beautiful story about love and getting through obstacles in life. I can´t wait to read To Be Your Wife.

Overall I liked this book. The characters did annoy me a little bit but that can happen in romance stories. I do love contemporary romance and this did keep me reading. I just kind of wish there was more something to the characters and things happened how I expected them too. I will continue the series.

This wasn't a horrible story but there were moments I wanted to smack the characters. I liked the concept because I enjoy stories like this.. but the spark was missing. It did have good flow though.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley..

This was my first book by this author.
What a great book. A "slightly taboo" romance.. but such great chemistry.
I can't wait to read more by Rae Kennedy.

Although the storyline did sound intriguing I found this book to be a bit over the top and not my taste unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

Loved this book. A super cute and fiery romance that will give you all the feels. I loved Cade so much. I also really enjoyed the ending and how we got a follow up/ catch up type ending so everything was rounded off perfectly which I love.
I have put my review up on Instagram stories and created a graphic for the book too.

I enjoyed the story, but the writing was rough. The characters were relatable and I enjoyed reading about them. Overall, this was a fairly standard romance. Nothing great, nothing terrible. I don’t think there was anything that truly set this apart from other romance novels. That’s not to say I didn’t like it. It was cute, steamy, funny. It was what you want in a romance. It just wasn’t groundbreaking, especially if you read a lot of romance. I would be interested in reading more from this author and giving her another shot

I am no longer interested in the content of this book. So, I'm DNF'ing this book for now. I may circle back around to this book one day.

This is a first read by this author and I couldn’t get enough of this story!! The characters took me to a whole other world in which they were the absolute center. You not only wanted to see everything going on but you couldn’t help but cheer them on as a couple! I’m super excited to read more from this author!

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

I liked this book a lot, but some things in it prevent me to rate it higher. Haley, the heroine, was a bit too wishy-washy in some parts of the book for me and it took some time for her to stand up for herself (at first she did in the wrong times). And the way she forgave Adam at first was a bit too soon for me.

I love Cade, the hero. Specially the fact he is a chef, that is hot. But sometimes I feel like the author focused too much on what he was cooking (and that coming from someone who LOVES cooking).

I liked the story, although there were a lot of cliché elements in it. But I don't mind that too much, because the story was engaging. It was very steamy, sometimes maybe too much. But that also didn't really bother me.

The chemistry between the characters is undeniable and scorching hot! I really liked Cade, maybe more than Haley, but Haley did grow on me.

I felt like some things didn't connect a lot in the story, some things happen and it was like the rest was forgotten and there were some lose ends. Like some things were left to be explained and then forgotten.

Overall, it did engage me and I liked it, but I feel like there was some editing needed for me to like it more. Maybe more developing in some parts of the book. Specially in the end. But for my first book by this author, I liked it and I wouldn't be opposed to reading more of her. I do want more of Haley and Cade though.
