Haley has just moved in with her older brother after transferring university. She has a hard time connecting with others and is excited to be spending more time with her brother. Too bad he is working constantly and the only one always home is his best friend and her new roommate.....well maybe it isn't that bad.
This book is exactly my genre it has, entertaining characters, taboo love, steamy scenes and a nostalgic feels of first love. My only complaint is in the last half of the book the steamy scenes take up a large part of the story and I would have liked a bit more character growth with them instead of it happening behind the scenes.
I read the preview for To Be Your Wife and cannot wait for the release in October.

For a steamy, sexy and sweet summer read, look no further than 'To Be Your Girl'. Haley and Cade have an instant spark when they become roommates. Their attraction for one another becomes impossible to resist and they become lovers. But things are not plain sailing and their budding romance hits the rocks. Despite 18 months apart, when they meet again, with a little help from Haley's best friend Court, the feelings they've tried to suppress return as strong as ever. Destined for one another, they finally both admit how they feel and they find their happy ending. To Be Your Girl is not trying to be a literary masterpiece. It is simply an easy, sexy read, perfect for those days when you just need a few hours to escape reality. My advice - read it in bed with a do not disturb sign attached to your door :)

I wanted to name this review "guilty pleasure", but there is nothing guilty about it.

Cade and Hale are the new Christian and Anastasia Grey, but better. The book, which is is written from Hayley's point of view, allows you to very quickly become absorbed in her character. Before I knew it I was laughing with her, crying with her and desperate to read more to find out what will happen. Will Cade and Hale meet again? Are they meant to be?

An enjoyable story with the added bonus of steamy sessions made this book IMPOSSIBLE to put down and has left me with a serious book hangover.

I really hope there is a part two book coming soon.

I really enjoy this book. Cade and Haley met unexpectedly and there relationship was not all that great at the beginning but they got to know each other their relationship progressed. I enjoyed them together, their banter was very entertaining. Haley was basically off limits to Cade since she was Tucks baby sister but no matter how hard they tried to stay away from each other, they couldn’t. Love always wins! I give this book 4 awesome stars!

Solid 3 stars

This was some entertaining chick lit/fluff - an enjoyable read, engaging and I didn’t want to put it down

While the premise quite cliche (girl moves in with brother after transferring universities, his best friend and roommate is the ‘bad boy’ who treats girls like crap and doesn’t do relationships but really has a soft spot), the characters were actually quite entertaining. Abd rge
total food porn moments courtesy of Cade’s being a chef didn't hurt either.

The writing could be improved upon, seeming a bit choppy/disjointed in places. I also have mixed feelings about where the plot went towards the end of the book, which seemed somewhat overdramatic/rushed.

I’m usually not the biggest romance reader, but if you enjoy NA romance this book is for you. I actually quite enjoyed that it’s a slow burn , Hayley and Cade becoming friends first, not insta-love.

I received an arc of this book through #Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another new author for me and I LOVED it! More excited about this book than I’ve been about one in awhile. Mostly because although it’s an HEA and predictable, it is REAL! No billionaires, though I love them too. No sickeningly sweet, too good to be true, love story, but real life issues about sacrifice and fear of losing the love of your life.

Can’t wait to read another one of Ms. Kennedy’s books!

To be your girl has one of those predictable plot lines, the kind we’ve all read before- innocent girl falls for her brother’s bad boy best friend. Nevertheless, I thought Rae Kennedy pulled it off. It was well written and the story itself makes you want to keep reading.
I loved the relationship between Cade and Haley! Their easy, playful friendship was fun to read and see it develop into something more.
Overall I’d say this was a quick, enjoyable read. It had a decent plot and some well rounded characters. It’s not going to change your life but if you want a fun read, I’d recommend.

Haley just transferred to a college closer to her brother, Tuck. So close in fact that she moves in with him and his roommate, Cade. Of course, Cade has a perpetually open door to a myriad of woman and we have the usual brotherly talk about not sleeping with Tuck's sister. Of course, that is exactly what happens. Overall, I found the story enjoyable but found it lacking in depth. The characters were not as developed as I would have liked and the side story about Adam didn't make the book better or worse, it really just wasn't needed. I finished the book in one sitting, but I did skim through some of it. I would definitely give this author another chance and hopefully her next book will have some more character depth. Also, I really hope that Tuck and Court did not actually get together... but we wont know until the next book comes out.

Absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. A complicated friends to lovers romance. The story moved among so quickly and really had me rushing to figure out how this love story would end. Cade had my heart.

It was definitely a cute read. A lot of unnecessary angst too but it was expected. I mean it made in a sense that Haley wasn’t that sure of their relationship. Also as many say. A lot let me emphasize, a lot of sexy time.
I guess I’ve been reading too many NA books that I can’t give this more than 3.5 stars but got to admit that I’m super intrigued for the second book. Court and Tuck look like they’ll be a hoot. Specially since she’s gonna get married to someone else (I think) in a week. Now that’s gonna be a good story to read. Excited to know what happens there for sure.

This was my first experience reading this author's books and while I found it an enjoyable read, it wasn't anything special in terms of this genre - brother's best friend/little sister romance. The whole Adam love triangle thing I didn't really get and it didn't seem to add to the storyline and actually made it seem to drag along. I liked the book better after he wasn't such a big part of it. I just didn't get the connection between these characters like I had hoped for, but if you like this type of romance, give it a shot! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

DNF @ 45%. I just didn't care enough to finish it. The characters were flat and one dimensional and the plot was predictable. There was way to much telling and not enough showing. Granted I didn't finish the book, but there seemed to be no reason for some of the plot points. Just didn't work for me.

3 stars.
For those who like romance, a lot of drama, best friend's sister stories and authors like Holly Rennee.

To Be Your Girl tells the story of Haley and Cade, two strangers who now live together and share the house with Haley's brother, who is also Cade's best friend.

First of all, the characters, they are not very nice:
- Haley is a doormat for most of the book, also offending women simply because they are close to Cade, a lot of slutshaming too (it's 2019, guys);
- Cade is an asshole, in some parts the badboy profile works, for most of the time it's just rude;
- Well, Court and Tuck ... I'd rather pretend it didn't happen.

Second, the story. The first part confused me, I don't know if this drama with OM was needed for the story. Another thing, the past stories of both did not convince me, I expected more depth, emotion, not as superficial as it was. It felt very rushed, yet it`s not a short book, there was a lot of useless plots. Despite all that, I was enjoying the book until the final drama and the issues with OW, then I couldn't, ended the story for me.

The writing is good, but could use some work, it`s confusing and contradictory in some parts, there are scenes that end abruptly and monologues that do not fit the dialogues.

To Be Your Girl didn't work for me, but I'll be aware of upcoming Rae Kennedy releases, I think she has a lot of potential.

This was an enjoyable read. I don't often read this genre, but I liked it more than I thought I would.

To be Your Girl by Rae Kennedy a five-star read you will want to call yours. This is the first in the To Be Yours series and I am excited for the next story, the main two characters Cade and Hailey were great, they had amazing chemistry and sizzle the thing that let me down was Adam, he didn’t feel like a main character, and at times didn’t even feel like a secondary character and there were some really great secondary characters. There is a great plot line in this story and the drama and ups and downs with the story will keep you hooked, for the most part this is a great story, I don’t want to give the game away but there are moments in this that will have you needing tissues.

not much of a story, mostly predicable and soft porn. most young adult books have much more depth than this one did.

3.5 overall stars

After searching through NetGalley's books, I came across this one and picked it up and I'm glad I did. It's not exactly the type of book I usually go for, but it was definitely worth it.

Haley has decided to change colleges after two years. But this also puts her in a weird situation because she now has to become roommates with her brother and his friend in order to make it through the school year without financial stress. Let's add in the fact that her brother's friend/roommate is extremely hot and she's just hoping she can focus on her school work.

Cade is Haley's new roommate. He's also a man whore and isn't ashamed at all. At least, that's what everyone thinks of him. No one has really tried to get to know him. That is until Haley moved in. Now that they are hanging out and actually enjoying each others company, he's starting to see a lot of things differently. Including his best friends sister.

This book took me back to my....early dating years in college. Yes, us girls can fall fast and hard for someone we believe to "be the one" and/or for that someone who says and does all the right things. But we rarely listen to our enter voice, warning us and pointing us in another direction because we're....young and dumb. This book reminds me of ALL OF THAT...LOL. In fact, there were times I wanted to reach in to the book and strangle both of these characters. But I digress...

All in all, this was a good, young adult book that, despite my rare chocking moments, had me intrigued and rooting for the HEA. And look at that, it's the first book in a series. I wonder who's next?

I liked this story. I had 2 major issues with it though...The Adam storyline was pointless to me. It wasn't really important. The second was the ending. It felt a little rushed. I liked the brother's best friend trope. Overall, it was a good story.

I got in the middle with this book. It was my first reading of some of the author's work, so I didn't have much to compare the writing. In terms of content, despite the same clichés, and at many points where the story is pretty predictable, it's a lovely book and a light read. Something to enjoy while getting out of a literary hangover, or looking for something that won't mentally require too much of you.

Thanks to Netgalley that provided me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely LOVED this book!

Not only did I not want to put this book down, I couldn't! The thought of canceling plans so I could keep reading actually crossed my mind, and I stayed up way too late to finish it! This author is definitely a must read for me from here on out and I'm already counting down until her next book!

The beginning of the book starts off hilariously, and I really love that we got to see Haley and Cade develop their friendship first. They had such great chemistry; the way she found out he was a chef (100% something I would do!), the exchanging of notes, the bantering, the bathroom, it was everything I could ask for! I will say, later on when Cade admits he's been in love with her from day 1 it felt like a bit of a stretch (the friends-to-lovers aspect felt so natural), but if he told me he's loved me since the beginning I would not argue!

One of the things that I loved most about this book is that while Cade is a "bad boy" that she should "stay away from", it's not about her "fixing" him. So many books do the bad-boy-meets-nice-girl-and-she-makes-him-a-better-person trope, and in this story Cade is already aware of his past demons and has been working hard on growing up and being better long before Haley arrives. It was so refreshing!

The whole story feels genuine, and I love the authors writing style. There were laugh out loud moments, times of vulnerability, and the emotions felt incredibly real. How she managed to perfectly capture the epitome of a college douchebag is mind blowing! Also, she didn't ignore the fact that Haley is in college; we saw lectures, studying, papers, and the stress of midterms. Jungle juice even got out a shoutout! The timeline and pacing were perfect, and the drama didn't feel forced or contrived; the situations and the characters actions were incredibly relatable. The only unbelievable thing in the story is that the girls both got jobs right out of undergrad, but everything else made me so happy I can look past that!

Honestly, the only thing towards the end I was wishing for was to know what the tattoo on his wrist said, and I should have known the author wouldn't let us down. Ask me if I teared up at his addition above it (spoiler: I totally did!) This book left me wanting more from their story, and in the best way!
