What starts for Lighthouse as a quest to clear his name unfairly connected to the brutal murder of his beloved, turns into a supernatural nightmare for him very soon, and the responsibility of saving the world from an imminent holocaust lands on his head. With aid from his allies including his dad, Lighthouse struggles to unveil the evil motives of the force behind this. Building in elements of suspense, spirituality, thrill, and action, the book is a superb read. I loved the pacing and the depth in characterization. I am grateful to the author Webb and NetGalley for gifting me with a copy of this book.

The Oldest Enemy is a book keeps your attention from first to the last page. I was blown away by the mix of the biblical text and current relations of Israel with other countries. The Nazi element through me for a loop but it was seamlessly explained throughout the whole book.

A very very good book and I will start following this writer

Forgive me oh Lord ! For I know, what I am about to do. I am going to rant on this book over and over again. I really tried but the way it kept dragging in between, the book made it difficult for me to stay put and patient with the book. With the dipping pace and overload of past and information, I felt there was too much that was going on in the book. So The oldest enemy might make an enemy in me for the author, who would definitely not like my review of the book.

The oldest enemy undoubtedly has a very unique plot. At least something that I have never seen or read before and because of which I actually had a lot of expectation from the book. Well technically my expectation was just to have a fast paced thriller. Which i didn't get and because of which, I was disappointed in the book.

The major factor that hampered the experience was that a lot of sub-plots were running parallel. This in most case is already a big factor in breaking the flow of the book but with effective transitions between these chapters, it could still work. Unfortunately in the book, all the parallel chapters were showing up without a proper flow or smoothness and because of which every time you got to the pulse of the scene, it got cut in between to be faced with a parallel plot. So for me it was like a bullet train that was running too fast for me to clearly see anything even though I know what was happening

While I appreciate the overall theme and plot, its the treatment that didn't work for me. But again this could be a lone factor that concerned me as for some the same factors would be why they like the book. I would still recommend everybody to pick up this book once to shape your own opinion of the book.

This is a complex book. It took me almost half the book to understand it but I just couldn't put it down. Kept me interested even though I was confused a few times.

I received a free copy of this book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

This book reads like a historical mystery from a religious view. It has many religious references, but it is beyond religion. There is love, mystery, drama, horror and inspiration. Don’t be put off by the religious angle. You will miss a great story if you are so inclined.

David Lighthouse’s fiancé was murdered years ago. He was considered a suspect in her murder, but he was cleared of the crime, but never his own guilt. He lives with the thought he should have saved her. The truth is, there was nothing he could have done. Her murder was beyond anything he could have been prepared for, nor could he have stopped it. There was a much greater reason for her death.

A multi-billionaire was planning a world-shattering event. One that encompassed many global leaders and billions upon billions of dollars. Planned by Eric Reinhardt, a man filled with greed, an insatiable desire for power and hatred; he planned to ruin America! But beneath his efforts lurked an even more sinister plan. One driven by an entity older than humankind, the oldest enemy. An enemy feared by all - except the faithful.

The characters in this book are full of life. They are believable and likable. I found myself involved with them and their quest immediately. I was on their side from the beginning and hoping they would succeed quickly. But that would have been a great loss. Mr. Webb’s writing is enticing. This one is not to be missed. I would recommend this book to everyone.

The story has a lot of biblical context, which is not something I was expecting.

David’s character really draws you into his world. His faith in himself and others is sorely tested throughout the story and at times it's difficult to read. It is, however, great to see his growth throughout the story.

There is a lot of pain and anguish in this story. Crossing cultural lines and how much is intertwined whether or not we realise or acknowledge it.

Not your typical supernatural genre story but a really interesting and thought provoking piece

I always enjoyed reading a mystery with a little supernatural elements in there. I'm glad I was able to eat this as I really enjoyed it.
