This book was written by David & Jackie Siegel. It’s their attempt to try to share their daughter’s story in hopes of opening up the eyes of other parents. I feel a lot of empathy for them because you can tell by the way it’s written that they are impacted greatly by the presence of their daughter’s absence. Jackie found her daughter’s diary shortly after her death and she had no idea some of the things her daughter was going through. Portions of the diary were shared in the book and it is astounding. This book will open your eyes as a parent and it will scare you as it did me. I will take the awareness that I learned here and apply it as my son grows up. Thank you Siegel’s for courageously sharing your grief with us.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley!

Victoria's Voice was.... raw. to say the least. This book is essentially Victoria's diary during her addiction. It's a powerful read that tears at your heart strings. I cannot imagine the pain her family has gone through with her senseless death.

This book should be a mandatory read.

This book was so sad because it is a true story. This books is all about a young girl named Victoria who at eighteen died from a drug overdose. What I enjoyed about this novel was it wasn't written like other biographies or memoirs this was written through her parents eyes as well as through the journal that they found of their daughter's after her untimely death. With the actual words from Victoria as well as photos and tidbits from her parents you really got an insight on her as a person not just someone in a novel. The book told of the struggle that Victoria went though with herself as well as her friends and how she got started taking drugs and the effect that if had on her. Not only did it show her struggle with drugs but also with an eating disorder. It was very cool to see the journal entries written in Victoria's own handwriting along with her pictures and notes in the margins. It was like I just picked up her real journal not a published book. The more I read this story the more I felt for Victoria as a person and knowing what happened to her in the end really made it sad. I'm very sad that this had to be published however as a reader I'm glad that I got the chance to check it out. It was an easy read but one that will stay with you and really make you take a look at your own life and the lives of the people close to you.

This book was different than I thought it would be. I thought it
would be more of the families story instead of the daughter's
diary. This was a hard one to read. I feel so bad for the family.
I am so sorry for their loss.

Thank you to the Siegel's, the Publisher, and Netgalley for the chance
to read this book and review in my own words.

Must read for every teen parent. At the end of the book, there was a lot of information on drug abuse. Worthwhile. So sad these our the times nowadays.

Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free,it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
