Love on Beach Avenue is a perfect pre-summer book. The characters are lovable and fun. Could' not put the book down, The sisterhood is beautiful

So I am a big fan of Jennifer Probst. This one was good and a solid start to a series about three sisters running a wedding planning agency. But it wasn't 100% for me this time. First I'll tell you what I liked. I like each of the sisters and their unique personalities. Book one is about Avery, who was a little wild in college but now is a workaholic and dreams of her own HEA. I like the feel of the town they are in, I like the hint of the stories to come, and I mostly like the love story here. But.
Carter is such a butt in the first half. Like condescending and rude and messing with her business! Then in the second half, it's like he gets a personality transplant. Gone are his uptight judgey ways , just poof. Also the love scenes were worded a little cheesy to me. But all in all, it was enjoyable and I'll continue to look out for more of her books.

Jennifer Probst’s Love on Beach Avenue is an enemies to lovers romance between a wedding planner looking for love and her best friend’s commitment-denouncing older brother. Trope-wise it’s pretty much my catnip.
Avery Sunshine’s BFF Ally asks her to plan her wedding with the assistance of her brother and man of honor, Carter. That’s actually a big ask because Carter and Avery have never gotten along. Carter had to raise his much younger sister after their parents died and he considered Avery a bad influence on his sister. To his surprise when they meet again he’s attracted to Avery and vice versa, but there’s the small fact that he will never allow himself to fall in love standing in the way of their romance.
I appreciated the dynamics between sisters that Probst sets up here—that felt realistic to me—and I admired Avery’s drive to succeed with her work even as I recognized that she’s a workaholic who needs to set better boundaries.
But I have a few big issues with the book. I don’t like how Avery is portrayed as failing/having failed several times in her quest to plan weddings and how Carter rubs her face in it. I’m a big fan of competence porn and I want women to be professionally successful, especially when they’re set up in an enemies to lovers situation with a judgmental hero.
This dynamic made it especially hard to connect with Carter. It was only after 50% of the book that I feel like this effect starts dissipating. Carter also has a pretty harsh view of his dad and I didn’t appreciate a lie he makes about having an anxiety dog.
He is devoted to his sister and his dog, though, and that makes him somewhat more sympathetic.
There are also seem to be a few cases of questionable gender stereotypes in this romance.
Overall, I had a hard time connecting to the hero, and in some cases, the heroine, and several aspects of their dynamic hit the wrong note for me.
Thanks to Netgalley for my complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

A fun read! This book is about Avery. We find out if Avery can plan a wedding fast. But when her friends brother is around, she may be a bit distracted. I’m a huge fan of Jennifer Probst and this book is highly recommended.
Thank you to Net Galley for the free advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review.

Refreshing read! Enemies to Lovers.
Love the bickering between Avery and Carter as they each wrestle for control.
Carter being the older brother / parent figure wants all that is perfect for his impulsive little sister wedding he clashes with her BFF aka the wedding planner. I laughed out loud when Avery throws obstacles to prevent a wedding takeover by Carter only for him to use it to dazzle the audience.
Making dreams come true. Look beyond the surface. Finding the HEA.

It’s cynic versus romantic in this light-hearted opposites attract romance. Whenever I start reading a book by Jennifer Probst, I know I’m going to get solid writing, complex characters, chemistry, a semi-serious tone, and a relationship that’s a little messy. And this one is no different - I wholeheartedly enjoyed the tension between these two as they try to work past their differences, and there were plenty of fun moments that paired well with the shots of angst. There were times when I found our hero to be a little overbearing and frustrating (though that’s all part of the story), and it was kinda somber sometimes, but I enjoyed it the whole way through.
Essentially, the story follows Avery and Carter, two people who are thrown together while helping to plan a wedding. Carter’s sister is getting married and Avery was her college roommate, so they’ve met before but don’t know each other well. When Carter met Avery, he got the impression that she’s a wild troublemaker, and as a steady, predictable kind of guy, it immediately made him wary. Now that they’re spending time together and digging deeper, they clash and break down each other’s walls until that tension turns to love.
Probst is a great writer, so I have no complaints about that. The story - though predictable at times - is interesting and has plenty of depth. Avery and Carter’s road to happily ever after is messy and emotional at times, but there’s also a lot of lightness. It’s a slow burn with a few steamy moments, and I loved the buildup of intimacy. I didn’t love the rushed feel of the ending or just how serious our hero is at times, but it didn’t detract from my enjoyment. Overall, it’s a sweet and sexy romantic read that’s well worth your time.

This book is exactly what we all need right now - true honest love, acceptance and finding comfort out of your comfort zone. Carter never understood or cared for marriage and love, but when his sister Ally uses Avery as her wedding planner things start to change. On the other hand Avery thinks of carter as being pig-headed and bossy. But once she sees "Robot-man" in a different light the two find themselves in a deeper connection. Will Carter finally admit he has fallen in love or wil he once again fall back on his old thoughts? Can Avery get him past the baggage he carries to find his HEA? With absolutely adorable characters - including Carter's dog Lucy as well as Avery's sisters - and a storyline that gives the reader warm fuzzies this was a wonderful beginning to what I think is going to be another great series.

I really enjoyed Love on Beach Avenue it was a fun, sweet romance. I loved getting to know the Sunshine sisters , each and every one is unique. I really liked our female lead Avery she was a great character she was head strong, sassy but also vulnerable and sweet. I liked our love interest Carter I like seeing his perspective as well as Averys. The setting of a wedding business was fun and added some funny moments to the story. I felt it did slow a little toward the middle but overall it was a well paced contemporary.
*I loved meeting all the side characters and cant wait to read the other sisters stories*

This book was great. I really loved the setting and am already excited to read the other sisters stories. I enjoyed the slow burn and how she made him work for it. Initially the hero seemed a bit too perfect and I didn't like how he kept one upping the heroine but it stopped soon enough and was explained. The plot could have been contrived but the characters breathed fresh life into the dialogue. Their banter was laugh out loud funny at moments.

So we meet Avery and Carter when Avery's bestie who just so happens to be Carter little sister decides she is getting married and she wants Avery and her place of business to do the wedding. Carter remembers Avery to be wild and was the one who always got his little sister in trouble and he doesn't think she will be up for that and he wants the very best for his little sister. Avery is the best at her job, so when Ally comes along with Carter well he just ruins her day since all he does is judge and she remembers when he looked down his nose at her, of course when they show up it is not the best scenario. Carter does seem to know his little sister better than Avery and it seems everything he picks is the right think and that just annoys the heck out of her, but as they spend time together they are noticing different things of each other and find an attraction that they have never had before..Carter looks like he is changing but he has some demons he needs to work on and can they survive with a long distance love affair?

A delightful start to a new series about the Sunshine Sister, Avery, Bella and Taylor. Avery is the oldest and in charge of running the family Wedding Planning business. When her college BFF Ally calls to let her know she is getting married, she insists that she will be the wedding planner. Carter Ross is Ally’s brother and Man of Honor for the wedding. He became Ally’s guardian when their parents died, when he was 19 and Ally was 10. He and Avery had an antagonist relationship because he didn’t like the shenanigans that she and his sister got into in college. While it has been about eight years, Carter still thinks Avery is the same irresponsible kid and treats her like she is going to screw up. This is the set up of a fun enemies to lovers romance. Really likable characters and a great development of their relationship. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

I loved Avery from the beginning. Carter, well I wanted to slap him. But then, I wanted nothing more than an HEA for these two. Their battle of wills was a pleasure to read, and their romance was so, so good. I just loved this book!

Love on Beach Avenue is a new series featuring the Sunshine Sisters who run a wedding planning business in Cape May, New Jersey. It has a lot of raw emotion and unresolved feelings. Avery's entire existence is wrapped up in her job. While she is very successful, her life is empty. When she agrees to squeeze in her best friend's wedding, she didn't count on having to deal with Carter, the older brother. Carter is insufferable and obnoxious, but the friction between he and Avery jumps off the pages. It's a good read. I'm eager to read Bella's story next.

This is a story I was not sure I loved or hated. At times I ABHORED the male lead Carter. He is judgmental and and a HUGE jerk and I would say he was that for a huge part of the story. BUt Avery I loved. She just wants to give her friend the best wedding possible, even if it means she has to deal with Carter too.
Carter is an older guy with a dog he treats like a child and his younger sister is getting married and he wants to help her have the wedding of her dreams and he is a HUGE jerk about it. He also doesn't believe in love or marriage and I loved that when Avery finds that out she dumps him. At times I did not undertsand why she was with him because he was a huge jerk.
I felt this story was well written and kept reading hoping Carter got better. But he doesn't. He is a jerk for most of this story. So while I loved Avery and her sisters and I cannot wait for more in this series. Carter kinda destroyed my love for this story.

Avery Sunshine might not have a soul mate of her own, but she still believes in happily ever after—for her clients. Making dreams come true is her business at Sunshine Bridal, which she runs with her two sisters. When her best friend announces her engagement, Avery is thrilled to take charge of the giddy bride-to-be’s big day. Less thrilling? Her best friend's arrogant and demanding brother, who just so happens to be the man of honor.
Carter Ross’s first instinct: call 911. He promised to always take care of his impulsive little sister, and he honors that vow. Even if it means taking over her wedding, where he is sure Avery will fail. At best, Avery is unpredictable. At worst, if she’s anything like the spitfire of a college girl he remembers, the main event could run wild.
With Avery and Carter wrestling for control, tempers heat up. So does the spark of attraction they’re fighting with every kiss. As the wedding draws near, it’s time to reconcile a rocky past and make a decision that could change everyone’s lives. Because what they’re rebelling against looks a lot like love.
I have found a new favourite author and I am not even mad about it. This book was so addictive and I could not put it down once I started it. The writing was amazing and the story was captivating from start to finish. I have a real love for stories about wedding planners and them falling in love. Something about it just makes my heart melt.
I loved the fact family plays a big part in the book and how sometimes it can hold you back without it even meaning to. I loved all the characters and I can not wait for a book about the other 2 sisters and how they fall in love because they just have to.
I ended up rating this book 4.5 stars and it was exactly what I needed to read and I know I will be going out and buying a lot of Jennifer Probst books. I would suggest any romance readers who love Jill Shalvis and Rachel Gibson would love her books as much as I did.

This is the start to another feel-good, light-hearted series by Jennifer Probst. I just loved the characters and their personalities. This is a great beach read. Add this one to your summer TBR list. I can't wait for the next in the series.
Thank you #netgalley and #montlake romance for the eARC.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest and independent review.
I particularly liked the strong bond between the three sisters and look forward to reading the stories of the other two.
Quick, easy to read, feel good romance which was lighthearted but sweet.
3.5 stars

What an absolutley wonderful story. I immediately fell in love with the characters in this book. Avery and Carter were great together. I loved the banter between them and of course the moment they both realized their feelings for each other. I cannot wait for the next book in this series

4.6 stars
There is a reason that this author is a bestselling one. It is because of her ability to create characters that feel real amidst a story that tugs at one's heartstrings. I know that with every new story that I read by her that I can be guaranteed to have my emotions react in a myriad of ways.
This story is no different as it takes a wedding planner, Avery, that believes in love and wants it for herself, and a man, Carter, that doesn't. It is a case of opposites attract. It should be cliche but it is anything but. This is because of this author's ability to weave a tale that sucks her audience in. I felt like I was along on the ride and was in Avery's shoes. I wouldn't have warmed up to Carter very fast either. In fact, I didn't. I struggled with liking him for her. However, my feelings changed as the story progressed. Fantastic secondary characters and definitely some future stories could come from this book.
If you are on the fence about reading this, or any of the author's previous work, don't be. She truly is special.

This was a great series opener. I enjoyed the plot on this enemies-to-lovers romance. It was really nice to have two characters who are a bit more mature and realistic.
Avery and her sisters are great. I love how different they all are, yet supportive and loving of each other. The wedding planning business will surely lead to more fun stories in this series.
Carter is a great romantic lead. His back story about raising his little sister is just so sweet. He really grew on me as the book progressed.
This will be a great summer beach read! Looking forward to the next installment- which sister will it be about next?!
