Irish on the Move was a well-researched and highly detailed examination of Irish immigration focusing on the mobility embraced by Irish performers.
I really appreciated the care taken with the topic and enjoyed the focus on performance, particularly in Variety Shows in this book.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the University of Iowa Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Irish on the Move is a very detailed and highly informative book on Irish history of immigration, perceptions about the Irish immigrants, and their life in America in particular. A recommended read for those interested in Irish history and immigration.

A different look at Irish-American history and what they went through. In this case in entertainment and general living in America. A good look for those who have an interest in Irish or Irish-American history.
