Description
An epic tale of love, war, and the secrets we keep…
Anna Feldman is born in Vienna just as war breaks out; war will come to shape her entire life. But as Anna moves from Austria to Palestine, England to Germany, one thing will remain a constant: the weight of the secret she keeps.

This is the story of Anna, the people she loved and the people she lost – and a heartbreaking choice which changed the course of her life forever.

For fans of Dinah Jefferies and Heather Morris, Beyond the Storm captures the bravery and strength of a life lived through a century of conflict, and our unending capacity for hope and love

Phenomenal story that opens up celebrating Anna's 100th birthday. She's surrounded with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. It's beautifully written and emotionally charged. I cried here and there, going through half a box of tissues! Outstanding narrative and well developed characters.

This was an amazingly written piece of historical fiction that transports the reader to the era of war. The secrets and choices made by Anna draw the reader in and make them feel invested in her journey. Highly recommend!

Not the typical WWII story. Yes there are Nazis and Jews and the horrors of that time, but it is more about the life of Anna, things that happen to her and her family. Love, fear, hatred and secrets keep the reader interested along with a well written book.

First, I loved the cover. I really liked the story of Anna as it shows her life before, during and after WWII. Anna is an Austrian Jew and we learn her story as the author takes us back and forward in her 100 year-old life. Many emotions were felt from sadness to happiness, from regret to redemption.

Today I finished this book in tears. This story was wonderfully told and just so emotional! I was sad to see this book end!

This book starts with the family celebrating Anna's 100th birthday. Such a wonderful celebration that brings in all the memories of her life. From there the author takes you on a journey thru Anna's life and those she meets along the way. You start with Anna as a young girl and you go thru WW2 and beyond. I do love a good historical novel!

A brilliant emotional read. This is a very well written story about the generations of a family before, during and after World War 2. It really tugs at the heart strings and shows both the cruelty and the humanity of the human race.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

I enjoyed this story, and the book was engaging right from the beginning. Parts of the story were a little choppy, and the flow of the story wasn't the smoothest. But overall, the story of Anna and Sam and love and healing and loss and reunification was a good story.

This is the story of Anna Feldman. The story starts before the events of World War II and spans the time during and after it.The story goes back and forth in time because of all the characters in Anna’s life.
Anna’s overwhelming loss casts a shadow throughout the story.
It’s not a happy read but an emotional one.Well written and manages to hold your attention even with all the characters and their background stories.
