This ended up on my DNF list. I didn't like this story.

Lisa Renee Jones is the queen of romantic suspense. Always so many options, so many balls juggling in the air...

A death. Or two. So many questions lingering. Two hurting individuals with mounting suspicion. One man to make her feel things she's never felt before. One cliffhanger to make us all twitch at the possibilities. One truth that she definitely doesn't die yet...because then there wouldn't be a book 2.

One man is such a great read, I can't wait to dig into book two. Lisa is just hitting it out of the park with all the books I've read by her lately

Entertaining!

Jax and Emma certainly have chemistry, loads of chemistry. Sparks fly when they first meet, only it wasn't a chance encounter as Emma initially believed. Their eventual meeting was part of Jax's master plan: one to avenge his brother's death. Plenty of unscrupulous business deals, death threats and high drama running amok throughout the pages of this novel - I loved it! Great romance that would have garnered 5+ stars if not for the dreaded CLIFFHANGER!

Boy does this author really know how to take us down some very twisted paths. One Man is the first of 3 books in the Naked Trilogy. It ends on a huge cliffhanger, so much happened and I'm left knowing very little by the end of this book.

This books had everything that I wanted from a good book. Romance, murder, msytery, intrigue, tragedy. I loved the characters, the story, the plot was well-thought, amazingly written and it just sucked me in. Lisa Renee Jones makes everything sound amazing.

3.5 "North Whisky" stars

Firstly, Contemporary Romance definitely isn't my favourite type of the Romance genre. I tend to prefer Historical and PNR.

Secondly, the ultra-successful millionaire trope also doesn't rock my boat too much.

But.... I liked One Man.

I liked Jax North. A lot. Typical alpha male. Emma is going through a lot, but she is keeping her head up and staying strong.

The cliffhanger was just a bit too much.
We have this wonderful build up, then..... Nothing. Read book 2.

It's not that I generally mind a cliffhanger, this book just didn't have it's own ending. That I mind. You have to leave the reader with something at least. Just my opinion.

Review for the complete trilogy.

What a wonderful journey this was!

One of my favorite stories by this author. Truly a wonderful read that has it all: fantastic characters, fiery passion, romance, sizzling and intense chemistry, suspenseful plot-line, emotional conflict, and a stellar cast of supporting characters.
Jax and Emma were so incredible together, both strong willed, capable, and vulnerable in their own way. I liked how the author portrayed this dynamic duo and how they complemented each other perfectly. I was gripped and I was intrigued all the way through! Overall rating : 4.5 stars!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.

I've read a few other books by Lisa Renee Jones, so I knew what to expect from her writing style. One Man fit into her normal writing style for me. The characters were interesting and had good chemistry together. The book moved at a good pace which makes it easier to follow and keep my interest.

Would read more by her!

4 star review One Man by Lisa Renee Jones

I found this book to be well written and had me engaged from the first to the last chapter. This was a romantic suspense story with more emphasis on the romance that the suspense in my opinion. There is a cliff hanger so my review is brief as I do not want to spoil the storyline.

There were plenty of secrets and hopefully all will be revealed in due course. Emma Knight and Jax North, the chemistry between them is hot and intense and yet neither of them want the attraction that sizzles between them. Emma is a strong, feisty woman who is independent and able to hold her own. I loved how protective Jax was, a total alpha. who ticked the boxes.

Thank You NetGalley for the digital ARC! I kept this book on my shelf for some time and that was a huge mistake! I was hooked by the first few pages! This could be compared to Romeo and Juliet! With a modern day twist and more sex! I did not want this book to end and the minute it did i went and bought the next book on Amazon! Any girl would love to have a man chase her but to fall so deeply in love with someone so quickly and have that returned is a magical thing that this book creates. On to the next book in this trilogy... best book I’ve read in a while

Yummy, this book was like a delicious, decadent, dessert!

One Man is about Jax and Emma and their relationships, secrets, and oh my word, their chemistry. WOW. This had all the fun stuff that hot romances have and also some suspence, mystery, and a little danger. But my only downside is that dang cliffhanger, I hate these. UGH. It is frustrating. Patience is not my virtue. I can't wait to see what will happen next.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, and the author for allowing me to read and review.

One Man is a perfect example of a book in which Lisa Renee Jones makes writing steamy romantic suspense look effortless. This book is full of well developed characters, mysterious deaths, clandestine meetings, family rivalries and more.

When Jax and Emma meet, they are both instantly drawn to one another. Unfortunately, there may be a history between their families that could poison a future relationship between the two of them. Emma is feeling out of control and confused by some of the information she's recently uncovered since her father's death. Jax has experienced personal losses of his own. Together they both understand and can relate to the emotions grief triggers but are unsure if they can they trust one another.

One Man is the first book in a trilogy and does end in an abrupt cliffhanger- - fortunately the second book is already available.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this review copy in exchange for an honest review.

Not your average romance, One Man is sexy, mysterious, and intense. From the very first page, this story is filled with secrets, leaving the reader wondering about characters’ motivations and intentions. Paired with Lisa Renee Jones’ fantastic writing style, and it’s easy to get lost in the story. I was definitely intrigued by Jax and Emma, and left wanting more when the book ended on a CLIFFHANGER. Though there’s plenty to this story, there are definitely questions left unanswered when the book ends.

The story follows Jax, a man who has felt a lot of loss recently. Following the death of his father and brother, he is seeking revenge against those he believes are responsible - and is willing to use Emma as a tool to accomplish that goal. What he doesn’t expect is to be so drawn to a woman who should be his enemy. From the moment they meet, there is an intense connection that remains unwavering even as family drama unravels. Emma has been used in the past, and she knows with certainty that she cannot trust Jax, but that doesn’t stop her from being drawn to him.

The writing is really great - making the reader question things but leaving little breadcrumbs along the way. I loved the chemistry between Jax and Emma (though considering this is a trilogy, I would’ve also loved a little more buildup between them). The sexy times commence pretty quickly, but they are written so well - every action moves the relationship forward, and made it that much easier to fall for Jax. He’s a dominant man who knows where the line is, and his caring for Emma is one of the best parts of the story. Once you read this book, I find it unlikely that you’ll be able to resist continuing with the series, so keep that in mind while reading. I received a free copy via NetGalley but went ahead and purchased it for my collection as well. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy and mysterious book.

One man is filled with twists turns, a whole lot of questions and not a whole lot of answers. We are left with two people who have suffered a lot with loss of family members. Emma and Jax have an explosive sexual chemistry that keeps them constantly burning for each other. But they both have baggage and secrets. The best part?? A cliffhanger that leaves you looking around blinking into the bleakness, asking yourself what the heck is going on????

Darn you cliffhanger! Wow One Man has everything you could want in a story, subterfuge, murder/death mystery and a blossoming love. Emma and Jax have chemistry that leaps from the page. A great beginning to the Naked Trilogy. Can’t wait for One Woman.
