I love Lisa Renee Jones and Dirty Rich Secrets is a perfect example of why! I can’t wait to know more about Noah/Aaron in part 2!

A delicious form of escapism, strong alpha type male, girl whose been burned before by said male. It makes for a very intoxicating and page turning read.
The downside it's a novella so it's pretty short. This could easily be turned in to a full length novel with more room to explore the plot and character dynamics,as, as a novella it did feel a little rushed at times.

Eh it was a pretty good book
Not one of my favorites as I think that had I been in the situation I would not have been so easily distracted.. However, there are more books in this series so maybe there was a reason?. When I read the next one I may feel differently but as of right now this book was just so so for me.
I volunteered to read this book from Julie Petra Publishing. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

Well, there certainly are secrets, so the title is accurate!

As I was reading this I was thinking that I wasn’t really liking or connecting to these characters very much. Despite the fact that Ashley keeps daydreaming and having flashbacks of the past. She remembers her early relationship with Noah/Aaron, before she found out he was a CIA assassin who betrayed his country. I think part of the issue is that half the memories are when he was acting strange and lying to her.

In the present, between the flashbacks, he has basically kidnapped her from witnesses protection and though he says he was set up. He is not answering all of her questions and still lying to her and acting very fishy. He tries to tempt her away from her questions with kisses and sexy times and it works a few times. Though it seems a bit sleazy instead of romantic. So it is hard to tell if he is a good guy that is really in love with her and trying to protect her.

Later in the book, the suspense and intrigue gets much better and I found myself not really caring so much about the things that bothered me earlier in the book, though the story is a novella and pretty short (85-100 pages), it had me extremely interested at the end. Of course it ends on a heck of a cliffhanger. Way to leave me on the edge of my seat Lisa Renee Jones!

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars-DIRTY RICH SECRETS Part two is the second instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary adult DIRTY RICH Secrets erotic, romantic suspense serial focusing on paralegal Ashley, and former CIA operative Aaron aka Noah. DIRTY RICH SECRETS PART 2 should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of Part 1.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ashley and Aaron) DIRTY RICH SECRETS Part 2 focuses on Aaron’s jealousy of the previous attention paid to our story line heroine by a member of the Walker Security Team. Throughout the instalment Aaron is unable to let go of the idea that Ashley may have wanted another man, a man who has also sworn to serve and protect. From angry $ex to accusations of lust and need, Part 2 barely skims the surface of the threats against our story line couple, threats brought about by sins of the past.

DIRTY RICH SECRETS Part 2 focuses on issues of trust; of jealousy, possessiveness, and suspicion. There is an inordinate amount of redundancy as Aaron aka Noah is constantly accusing the woman he loves of lusting after another man, or of having sex with said man while Aaron was on the run. Apparently I am in the minority with my thoughts and take on Part two. Sadly, I struggled to accept Aaron as anything more than a possessive and controlling character whose behavior screams all kinds of wrong, thusly overriding the little bit of information imparted regarding the threats against our story line couple. In this I had a difficult time liking the man we have come to know as Aaron, and therefore struggled to like this particular instalment.

Saying that, this is an issue with novels that have been divided into serialized chapters or parts of books. Oft times, a number of the instalments divulge little to no pertinent information. Reviewing a serialized novel is difficult because to comment on the world or characters building requires a complete novel wherein background, history, personality and premise have evolved or changed throughout the course of the book or series. DIRTY RICH SECRETS Part 2 primarily focused on Aaron's issues of trust, insecurity and accusations against the woman he claimed to love.

Mysterious and suspenseful with a hero you’re not sure you can trust (though you really want to), this novella packs a punch in a short amount of time. A love story in reverse, the reader is introduced to Ashley and Noah/Aaron after the fallout from his deception. The two met and fell in love, planning their lives together.... all for it to come crashing down when Ashley discovered that Noah has been lying to her the whole time. Turns out he’s not the man she thought he was, and now that they’ve come face to face for the first time in months, she doesn’t know what to think. Standing in front of her is a man who claims to love her, but deception fills their past and their future would look vastly different than she had planned. Add in the looming threat over both of them, and it’s no wonder that this novella ends in a CLIFFHANGER.

Lisa Renee Jones’ writing drew me in from the start, making me sympathize with Ashley while also connecting with Noah. Like Ashley, I know that Noah has been deceptive in the past - and is definitely trying to control the situation in the present - but I couldn’t help but fall for him. His feelings for Ashley are obvious right away, so it’s hard to hate him for the things he’s done. I can’t talk much about the plot, but I definitely felt like I was just settling into the story when the novella ended. We’re given some insight into how they were as a couple in the past, and an introduction to their current situation before the rug is pulled out. I’m already connected to the story enough that I would definitely continue on with their journey, but just know that you will be left unsatisfied at the end of this installment. Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Can’t wait to read the rest of Ashley and Noah’s story.
