Serena remembers being at her cousins wedding in Maryland. She use to work as a legislative assistant in New York. Serena is confused and believes she has died .she recently met a hot firefighter Oliver.Serena has the time of her life at the wedding. When Serena wakes from a coma she is married and two kids Mason and Cam. Oliver came to Serena's hotel when they first met but he was a gentleman . I loved reading about Serena adjusting to her home life again after being awake. I liked that Serena was taking a quilting class. I didn't like that Oliver was jealous of Serena's memories . I liked the unknowns of Serena's life . It was frustrating but realistic what Serena and Oliver was going through.

I adored this book. I absolutely loved the characters and felt they were real and relatable. It’s not a whisk me away type of love story, its tragic and tough. I liked the spin on the modern romance and instead of meeting someone new you’re meeting yourself again as well as falling in love with your partner all over again. I thought it was romantic, I thought the premise was similar to The Vow. Would recommend this book to anyone but there are some triggers so just be mindful.

This Reminds Me of Us by Julia Gabriel is #4 of the St. Caroline Series. This is the first book by this author I have read, but it will not be the last. The story draws you in and you want to become friends with the characters. It has been a long time since I have felt that way about a book I am reading. Serena and Ollie are very likeable and you are pulling for them throughout the story. Their love story is unlike most that you read about. A devastating accident puts Serena in a coma and when she comes out, she thinks that she is a newlywed with a honeymoon baby, but is in fact the mother of two and was pregnant before the accident. Will they be able to navigate this mine field of a relationship that has changed due to the accident? Is there something else going on that Ollie doesn’t know about that will affect their marriage? Hmm…to find out be sure to get this book and READ!
Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Wow this was the first novel I have read by this author but it won't be the last. This novel grabbed me from the very first page and would not let me go until the very last. I loved Ollie and Serena. This novel kept me on the edge of my seat and kept me guessing. I was rooting for them to get back to what they had before the accident. I loved the storyline and the way Ollie and Serena were working their way back to each other.

It has been so long since I have fallen into the pages of a book and disappeared into so engrossing a story like I did with Julia Gabriel’s This Reminds me of Us. The author’s faultless, flowing writing strikes the perfect balance between introspection, dialogue and scene setting. I was utterly astounded at how present and visible these characters were to me. The characters were right in front of my eyes as I flicked the pages on my Kindle. Somebody give this author a whole bunch of awards please!
This is a beautifully told story of a young family in crisis, of young love put to the test. Serena Wolfe wakes up from a coma, unable to remember the last seven years of her life. She does remember her husband Oliver, but her children and all of the friends she made in the town of St. Caroline are a mystery to her.
This story was “action packed” – such a small coastal town attracts all kinds of calamities that Firefighter Oliver Wolfe must deal with, while at the same time fighting his fears that his wife has changed and grown more distant since waking up from the accident that almost claimed her life.
I was rooting for this couple and their two lovable sons right down to the last chapter - Mason and Cameron are such hilarious cuties! For once in my life, I am GLAD this is a series because I can’t seem to get enough of the Wolfe and Trevor families and the small town of St. Caroline. You will laugh, you will groan – Oliver needs to accept change and loosen up a bit!!! – and you will definitely shed a tear or two as you read this book. All of your emotions and senses will be fully engaged as you walk into the drama that is Serena and Oliver’s life in this heartwarming story. (This is a standalone novel in the St. Caroline series.) I give this a 10 out of 5 stars, and a standing ovation! I was downright entertained!!!
My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

THIS REMINDS ME OF U.S. by Julia Gabriel is such an emotional roller coaster. Serena is in an accident that leaves her in a coma, when she wakes it's with a huge part of her memory gone. The cause of the accident is unknown. Oliver is a fireman and Serena's husband. Serena needs to learn who the people in her life are and come to terms with the missing pieces of her life. Oliver really has a hard time accepting the new reality of their lives. Learning to focus on new memories and letting go of the past.

Really liked this book. It is heartbreaking but also uplifting at. The same time. I thought the story was mostly believable. I didn't understand why Ollie accused his wife of cheating when he had no evidence of this but other than that everything else was realistic. I didn't read the previous books in the series but I would like to. I definitely recommend this book it doesn't disappoint.

Thanks Net Galley for allowing me to read this amazing book.

This is the first book by Julia Gabriel that I have ever read.

Plot: I like the idea behind the plot but there were some points that just weren’t realistic to me. Serena was in a major car accident. She remembers her husband but not her marriage or her 2 young sons when she wakes from a coma. She was estranged from her family and lost her trust fund because she chose to follow her heart and marry Ollie, a small town firefighter. I think Ollie is a good man but while Serena is coping with so much, he makes a horrible accusation against her and has no proof that she actually did anything wrong. Serena’s reunion with her family seems unrealistic since Serena has changed since the accident but her family wasn’t even there for her recovery.

Characters: I love Serena, her boys, and Ollie’s mother. Serena is a strong woman to make it through so much without losing it. The boys are so adorable and will do anything for their mom. I appreciate that Nana is hanging around to check on everyone and let them all know when they need to fix things. I really wanted to like Ollie. I just kept getting more and more angry with him throughout the book. He seemed to be a loving husband until he found out the Serena was friends with Ben and then his imagination ran wild leaving his brain in the dust. I just couldn’t get past that one.

Writing: I believe Ms Gabriel is s gifted writer. I enjoyed hearing the story for multiple points of view even if one of them consistently made me mad. This allowed the reader to get to know the characters better.

I would recommend this book to others looking for a romance that doesn’t follow the “normal” route to an HEA.

I nabbed this on Netgalley because I always enjoy second-chance love stories. I expected a typical "romance" with a predictable outline resulting in a HEA.
I wouldn't say that this book lived up to those expectations, as it didn't feel like a mass market romance.
It was so much more.
It was raw and gritty and so honest. There is an HEA but it is wrestled out of life circumstances that would defeat many. The first person narrative from both Serena and Oliver gives a complete picture of their story. They are both good people with flaws that must figure out their life when half of their couple doesn't remember their marriage.

This is part of a series but could be read without reading the prior books. Gabriel is a talented writer and I will be looking into the rest of the series.

I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. This is my honest review.

OOOOOOOooooooo....
Such a sweet story! I think this is one of the best books I've read in a while. The author did a great job of presenting real life situations in a way that seemed candid. It really made me think about what I'd do if I woke up one day and didn't remember a period in time. I HIGHLY recommend reading this book.

When Serena wakes up in the hospital, she has lost the memories of her marriage and children but not of her husband. As she and her husband try to navigate their way back into their normal life, Serena finds that she has changed. Bother Serena and her husband Oliver must face the past before being able to love together into the future. This was a wonderful romance with a twist. It was easy and enjoyable to read.

Thanks NetGalley and NG & Serif Books for the ARC copy of This Reminds Me of Us.

This book has some great characters that are well developed however the storyline is very similar to other stories that I have read by other authors. I did find the writing enjoyable and I did enjoy the book.

In this story the family must rebuild their lives after a very tragic accident...Can this family be saved? Only time can tell.

Good read with lots of emotion. I wasn't sure about this when I first started it, but I was pleasantly surprised. This deals with lots of hard emotions and takes you on a roller coaster before it's done. The characters were great and I enjoyed the story. Buckle up for an emotional read, but worth the trip.

I enjoyed this book. It was heart wrenching but also heart warming. Julia Gabriel has similar styles of Nicholas Sparks. She is a feel good author. I have given this book and the author a place in my heart from the feel good nature.

I was given this book for my honest review. No compensation was given.

My heart went out to both Serena and Oliver in this story. Both suffering life altering instances - her accident which left her in a coma for months (affected Oliver and Serena tremendously) and him losing his mom during this same time. My heart broke when reading that news. Oliver was making me crazy at times with his thoughts and the things he would say to Serena. He could be so sweet, sexy, and protective, but then turn around and be doubtful and hurtful. But Serena is amazing. She stood up for herself, tried new things, reunited with her family, and fell in love with her boys all over again. Her boys were so patient and loving, they were a great part of this story. And the special visitor throughout the book was heartwarming because it makes me feel like my loved ones are with me too.

First of, this is the first book that I have read my this author.
It’s an interesting story, the main female character, getting into a car accident, and forgetting the last 7 years of her life. Serena wakes up in the hospital, not knowing what has happened to her. She remembers her husband, Ollie, but not her two sons, or the last 7 years of their lives together. She spend the book, trying to remember what she’s forgot.
I absolutely loved this story. The characters were so real, and believable. And the boys, Mason and Cam, where adorable. I love the authors writing style in this book. I discovered after I started reading this book that it was part of a series, and that could explain why some thing this book talks about seemed confusing to me. But that didn’t take much away from the story of Serena and Oliver. There were some points in the story there I really didn’t like his character that much. He showed some major trust issues, but in the end he redeemed himself. I will definitely be reading other books from this author. And have already bought the other stories in this series. I would definitely recommend this book. It is really a great read.

2 stars
Similar author: Nicholas Sparks

Ok, I was really excited for this one, I didn’t liked the cover, but the blurb caught me good.

What I didn’t know was that the author has a very very very similar writing, character construction and plot line to Nicholas Sparks, which’s books I hate.

The premises is good, but the execution no, neither of the main characters were like able and relatable, and the final plot was terrible, I would give one more star if not for that useless history line.

This one wasn’t for me, I will not read the previews books from this serie, but I’m open to read more by this author.

This book gave me ALL the feels. It is an extremely emotional story that deals with heartbreak and loss in an extremely honest and heartfelt way. Oliver and Serena were a happily married couple with two wonderful little boys and a baby on the way when tragedy struck. Serena wakes up from a coma four months later with no memories of the last seven years. This changes everything between them - and puts a huge amount of stress on their family and their relationship. Particularly because shortly after the accident, Olliver's mother passed away after a short battle with cancer.

Rebuilding and finding their new normal is the name of the game for this book - and truly - its not clear that they were going to make it. Despite loving each other very deeply - the stress and grief took its toll. This book is beautifully and poignantly written. I really appreciated the few scenes from Mason (their older son)'s perspective.

Books about married couples aren't always my catnip - but this one was gorgeous and wasn't at all what I expected it to be. Loved it.

I received an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review - the opinions above are all mine!
