Sometimes we have to live with the actions of our youth, even when the person has changed the memory of “how they once were” lingers on far too long – especially in a small town with a very active gossip. Once Brodie would have been considered a geek, a kid who enjoyed things beyond his family’s ranch. Also, once upon a time, McKenna would have never, ever lowered herself to hard, physical work. The princess, the rich family’s daughter, she knew what she wanted and it wasn’t this small town. Life happens. People change. And that is a lot of what HER COWBOY BOSS brings to readers. Yes, sometimes people can change for the better, they can do far more than anyone ever thought – and sometimes, that’s hard to convince people who knew them “back then”.

I completely enjoyed McKenna and Brodie’s romance. Sure, they had a rocky start, some stumbling blocks along the way but they proved to each other that it wasn’t what was that matters – it’s what we are now and how we react to this person now that truly matters. We’ll run into some familiar faces once again but HER COWBOY BOSS was an enjoyable journey with two people who work together well in the present and their future.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Her Cowboy Boss by Jeannie Watt
Can he work his way into her heart?
Former golden girl McKenna Benjamin is now a single mom with a toddler struggling to eek out a living on her small Montana ranch, which was recently damaged by wildfire. She may be down, but no way is she out. And she’s definitely not going to turn to her wealthy I-told-you-so family for aid. McKenna considers herself a lucky survivor, and is committed to making it on her own even if her neighbor’s sexy horse trainer is the one offering to help.
Horse trainer Brodie Collins needs a part-time assistant, but when his boss suggests hiring McKenna, Brodie is skeptical. The McKenna he once knew would never stoop to hard work, but Brodie soon realizes that ten years has utterly altered McKenna. Gone is the entitled beauty – replaced by a confident, determined woman, and Brodie finds himself falling hard.
Can this cowboy break down the protective barriers and win McKenna’s trust and her heart?
This is Brodie Collins and McKenna Benjamin's story.
Once upon a time, McKenna Benjamin had informed her parents that rebuilding was good for the soul. She’d said it rather forcefully, too, to get the point across that even if she was divorced and pregnant, she was not going to move home and live under their thumbs. It’d been bad enough living under her cheating ex-husband’s thumb.
Of course, she’d said those words before she’d had any inkling as to how much it cost to rebuild in both emotional and financial terms. At the moment, she was dealing with financial and she wrinkled her forehead as she double-checked the total of the estimate the lumberyard sales guy at Big Z’s had just slid across the counter. Surely she’d mistaken an eight for a three.
No. That first number was definitely an eight. This was why one didn’t buy barebones-cross-your-fingers-and-hope-nothing-goes-wrong insurance. Because something invariably went wrong.
What could Brodie Collins possibly have against her? They barely knew one another. In school, he’d been a quiet kid who’d focused on his studies and did rather incredible pencil drawings of people and animals, while she’d been busy with what she’d perceived as the important matters of her social circle, pep assemblies, dances, and student government.
A decade-old reputation. That’s what he has against you.
She had to admit the Benjamins were an entitled lot, and she’d unquestioningly taken her privilege for granted, until poor choices had shifted her life firmly off the Benjamin track. Now she was no more one of the powerful few than she was a Canada goose swimming peacefully on Miracle Lake.
Her Cowboy Boss by Jeannie Watt is a 4 star book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an early copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.
This is one of the many books that I have read by this author and I find her work quite fun to read. This story is about McKenna Benjamin, she has to get a job on Zach Marvell’s ranch to help make ends meet on her own farm. She ends up working closely with Brodie, whom she knew in high school. She used to live a privileged life, and Brodie wasn’t so sure that she had changed.
This is one of a series of books that are based on the Men of Marvell Ranch. I absolutely love any of the books that are set in Montana- but I especially enjoy those written by Ms Watt.

Her Cowboy Boss is the fourth book in Jeannie Watt’s Men of Marvell Ranch and is a wonderful addition to this engaging series. I thoroughly enjoyed McKenna and Brodie's story, and felt the connection between the characters from the start. As with previous stories, this book has sexy Cowboys, drama, passion, and a great storyline to pull it all together. I certainly hope there are more stories to come in this addictive series.

Her Cowboy Boss is a cute and fast read.

McKenna is the girl who had everything growing up, but is now a struggling single mom. Brody is a co-worker on the ranch where McKenna gets a job.

McKenna is a likable and well written character. Brody is also likable from the start. I always wanted the two together.

There were parts of the book towards the middle and end that kind of dragged, but overall the book is an enjoyable read.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary western romance.

I liked this one straight off the bat. McKenna displays her strength early on when she quietly faces down someone trying to rush her and then takes the bull by the horns with Zach and Brodie by going on the offensive about her ability to do the job and her promise not to let them down. She has indeed come far from the image people had of her as someone who wouldn’t want to break a nail. Now she can help irrigate crops, build and maintain fences, muck out corrals, and fix a cranky lawn mower.

Yet she’s got some insecurities courtesy of her emotionally manipulative ex. She sought counseling and realizes what she’s up against but she acknowledges she’s still a work in progress. I like that she’s allowed to have her moments and anxieties and that these even continue for just a bit after she finds twue lurve – no insta cure here!

Brodie gets my approval early on when he clears the air with McKenna about his initial doubts and freely admits he was working with outdated impressions. Instead of hanging onto old stereotypes about her, he willingly changes his views based on the woman she is now. Once he knows the full story, which he waits to get until McKenna is willing to tell it, he gives her room and doesn’t crowd her. He horse training skills also provide a valuable example of how to deal with pushy people who will take advantage of any weakness.

McKenna is truly the one who grows and gains more agency in this book. If anything, Brodie might be a little too wonderful but then, sometimes it’s nice to have a hero who is never an asshole. I hope that we get to see what happens to McKenna’s cousin Izzy and that the two of them maybe get thrown out of more Marietta bars before this series is done.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Jeannie Watt is a favorite author and I’ve loved this series. This book updates us on the other men of Marvell ranch and then details the relationship between Brodie and McKenna. The two had gone to school together but in the past had never run the same circles. McKenna was the wealthy prince and Brodie had been the cowboy without a lot of money. McKenna returned to Marietta from Boise after finding out her husband had been cheating on her since they had been together. She learned she was pregnant and her ex had no desire to have kids. She left after divorcing him and bought a small ranch and tried to set herself up. Unfortunately a fire hit her ranch and she lost her barn and outbuildings, forcing her to finally seek work at the Marvell ranch. Her cousin Izzy has moved in and swaps childcare for room and board so McKenna can go to work.
Brodie is McKenna’s boss working on the ranch. He was hesitant for Zach to hire her because he remembered her former self who wouldn’t have worked hard. He realizes she’s changed and they work together well with the horses, the fencing, painting, etc. The two realize there’s a lot of chemistry and they try to ignore it until they finally give in to it. It freaks McKenna out and she pulls away.. also, her ex keeps trying to get in touch with her and take control over her again. There is a lot of interactions too with the other ranch hands and finally some suspenseful moments. It was a wonderful book that I give 5 stars.

I enjoyed returning to Marietta, Montana and the Marvell Ranch. I especially liked McKenna Benjamin, a woman trying to change her image from the rich, spoiled princess she used to be to a hard working, single mom with a cute two year old child named Josh. Her ex-husband did a number on her but she is starting to become strong again.

Throw in a good looking cowboy named Brodie, who just so happens to end up as her boss on her new job at the Marvell Ranch and I could not turn the pages fast enough to see how this story would turn out and the author did not disappoint me. Then I was sad when the story was over. I really like this series and hope it will continue with another book or two. I received an advance copy of this book and I willing chose to write an honest review.

Her Cowboy Boss by Jeannie Watt is the fourth Men of Marvell book. This is a different story that veers away form the typical cowboy story. Yet the description of ranch life is vivid, showing the hard work necessary to keep a ranch going.

Brodie Collins makes this story unique in his past and in his interests. He is all about ranch life and horses now but hasn’t always been. I like this character even with his preconceived notions of how McKenna Benjamin is now. I did wonder that since he had changed over time why couldn’t he believed that she had. McKenna is a hard working single mother who deserves to be judged by her actions now. As these two journey through the hurdles of the past, their romance is realistic and memorable. Except for the quick conclusion the story is a wonderful take on the different personalities that work on a ranch and find love doing so.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I wanted to like this one. I really did.
I love a good single parent romance. LOVE IT! Add in a little drama from the parent who does not have custody of the kid and its even better.
This one had all of the above. Only, sadly, I couldn't get into this one. And I tried. I tried by reading a few chapters, skipping one, reading one... reading the ending... I just couldn't get into this one.

This is such a great sweet romance book. I have read the first books in this series and I fell in love with the Marvell Ranch and the people on it. This book is about McKenna and Brodie. McKenna is a strong woman with a strong work ethic and a very stubborn woman. She has had to rebuild her life after getting out from under a abusive husband. He never abused her physically only mentally. He torn down her self esteem and she is still trying to recover from that and raise her son. To add to all that her barn was destroyed in a wild fire and she is trying to rebuild. She turns to the Marvell Ranch for a job. Brodie is not sure about working with her because he still sees her as the spoiled rich girl he new in school. He gives her a chance and he really likes the woman she has become. Brodie is running from demons in his past too. The attraction he feels for McKenna is very hot and very real. Will they be able to learn to work together in harmony? Will they act on this attraction that they feel? Honestly pick up this book and find out because it is a really great read. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

"Her Cowboy Boss" (Men of Marvell Ranch Book 4) by Jeannie Watt is a wonderful read. I loved McKenna and Brodie's story. This was the first book I've read from this author, and I'm looking forward to reading more in the future. I can't wait to read the other books in this series. This story has hot cowboys, romance, passion, ranch life, humor, and more. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, cowboys, and series.

For the most part I enjoyed this book.. McKenna was a flawed heroine who was an entitled brat when she first knew Brodie. I love how her character experiences difficulty in her life but it actually made her a better person. Her character was relatable and you could feel a connection to her. However, Brodie was kind of a bland character with little back ground giving the reader very little to relate with him on. Many of the other characters including Mckenna’s Ex-husband has a lot more depth to them and it left Brodie a disorienting character that the reader gets to know little about

Overall the romance was sweet and the story was engaging but it seemed to be missing something, I felt like I needed more by the time I got to the end. I’d you’re looking for a quick sweet read then this is a great choice. I
