A tender story about Jess and Alex finding themselves cursed by the stars. In this low-angst tale, the flatmates have to endure a year of demanding careers and competing love interests before eventually finding their HEA. Although I did enjoy this story, I never became emotionally invested in it. The narrator seemed to allow us, the readers, to hover around the periphery of Jess & Alex's relationship but always held us at arms length.

For myself, what was absent from their story was *how* they fell in love. Time and again, regardless of POV, both Jess and Alex expounded upon their workload, their relatives, their friends' drama, their treks through London, their other relationships—anything and everything, except each other. Both seemed like an afterthought in the mind of the other. Even at the close of the epilogue, I would say that I still regarded them as no more than good friends. I would have loved to have seen more emphasis on the initial spark between Jess and Alex and how that fire was kindled throughout the year.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Rosie Curtis for an ARC of "We Met in December' in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
