I really enjoyed this book. It’s the third one in a series, however, it can be read as a stand alone. In fact, it’s the first I’ve read of the series. I understood perfectly what was going on. There were some references to the vampires capturing the heroine from a past book so it made me want to read the previous ones. I loved all the characters and everything with the story. But there were a few times I would get a tiny bit bored. Not enough to be taken from the story. I guess I just felt like it was moving a little to slowly. I loved the little pot bellied pig!

The tale that unfolds shares the story of the rogue wolves, the serum and The Rogue himself. We also learn more about Mae, and her upbringing. Her childhood experiences might be triggers for some readers. It is not graphic and briefly touched upon. View Spoiler »

I loved the characters we meet who make up the Rogue’s misfit family of sorts and enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Mae and the Rogue. Secrets and age old wounds often stood in the way. At times, I wanted it all revealed, but I also understood the desire to be seen. The whole romance tugged at my heartstrings even as parts frustrated me. WICKED COWBOY WOLF by Kait Ballenger is the third book in the Seven Range Shifters series. The novel takes place mainly in Montana and Idaho and the first chapter drew me into the story of Jared Black and Maeve Gray.

In this story the wolf shifters work as ranchers. Jared was cast out of his pack for a crime he did not commit. Now he is known as Rogue, a shifter known to be a criminal. Maeve wants to save her species from the vampires. The two enter into an uneasy alliance.

This book has plenty of action as well as some humor to offset some of the darker scenes. It also has several steamy and passionate scenes. The attraction between Rogue and Maeve was front and center throughout the book. However, there is also suspense, deception, adventure, battles and much more. The characters are compelling and someone you can root for. They felt real and three-dimensional with believable motivations. Additionally, they reacted to events in a plausible manner. The descriptions were vivid and gave a clear sense of time and place.

I thoroughly enjoyed this well-written novel and recommend this fast-paced book to those that enjoy paranormal romance with some suspense and adventure. I look forward to reading other books in this series.

Thanks to SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and Kait Ballenger for a digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley and the opportunity to provide an honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way.

Enjoyed this wolf shifter romance thourouly! The story hooked me from the first page amidst a very distracting environment. That says alot! The characters were interesting, with some serious depth. No fainting maidens! There were serious alpha males but also more than that. I liked that there were many characters but not too many to distract from the story. The length felt right. The romance was hot and evolved over the course of the book. I highly recommend this book.

Jared was an innocent child turned into a ruthless Rogue by Mae's father. Can they get over the past and move forward with a future? He intends to use her for his revenge, but she is playing havoc on his heart. The vampires intend to kill her. Will he be able to save her and win her back? You will have to read to find out.

I'm not sure any woman every would give up the chance to have their own romance. But for Mae she's never really had any choice in her life thanks to the life she was born into. She doesn't hate her life persay just wants a chance to make her own choices. So after her time held captive by the vampires, she knows she can trust the man who shouldn't be in her bedroom.

Rogue is just that a Rogue. He's bad and deals with even worse. However he wasn't always this way. He has secrets of who he was before he became the King of the Rogue werewolves, but for her he has a soft spot. All the best romance stories end in tragedy, but she doesn't fully understand that until she begins to live it.

I seriously enjoyed this book and didn't want to put it down. Rogue is a great character and so is Mae. Of course then there are the side characters that just make you love it even more even if they are a teacup pig and an angry horse.

I received an ARC of this book for a free and honest review.

Wicked Cowboy Wolf is the story of the Rogue and Mae. Mae is the sister to the leader of the Grey Wolf Pack and Rogue is the “leader” of the rogue wolves.

The author took a great couple of characters and gave them an insanely wonderful storyline. Rogue is not the ultimate bad guy that he seems and Mae is so much more than the Grey Wolf princess. I enjoyed seeing how far Mae would go to protect her pack and how far Rogue would go for the woman he loves. I HIGHLY SUGGEST reading this book If you like paranormal romances. This is my favorite book by this author so far!

This is the third book in the Seven Ranger Shifters, and the first book I've read in the series. It was easy to follow along.

A criminal out of necessity, not by choice!

Maeve Grey is a vegetarian wolf shifter, who helps run the ranch that her brother is packleader of. She owns a teacup pig, named Tucker. Mae has always dreamed of freedom to make her own choices, something that belonging to the Grey wolf pack, and sister to the packleader doesn't afford her to do. She escaped from vampires, thanks to the criminal wolf shifter called Rogue. Despite the pressure for her to find an Alpha wolf to marry, she can't stop thinking about Rogue.

Rogue, whose real name is Jared Black, at fifteen took the blame for a crime he didn't do, to protect the only friend he had, and as a result was kicked out of the pack. He used his rage to reinvent himself and becomes a force to be reckoned with. He has become the packleader of other rogue misfits, who have no place to turn.

Rogue shows up unexpectedly in Mae's bedroom. She has kept her promise not to tell how she escaped from the vampires. Now Rogue has a proposition. He has learned something that threatens all the packs and convinces Mae to go with him for her own good. Little does Mae realize that her past, present, and future are about to collide.

Rogue was the bad boy with the heart of gold. Mae wants to do right by her pack, but at the same time longs to make her own choices. I had so many laugh out loud moments surrounding Tucker, not a hog, but a teacup pig; and Bee, which is short for Beelzebub.

Adventure, intrigue, deception and a forever love. Cast out of his pack to protect the love of his life has made him hard and out for revenge. This story is full of so much emotional turmoil and rediscovery that pulls you in and keeps you glued to pages until the very end. The characters have so much depth and personality that you become part of the story. Just loved it.

Definitely a lot better than what I've been reading as of late but was it memorable? Nah. It wasn't too bad but it was all that great either. I will note that I liked the dynamic between Mae and 'Rogue" and how their lives were already intertwined prior to series. Otherwise I found myself bored in-between some scenes and chapters and would definitely consider this a hit or miss type for some readers. Nevertheless, I will keep this author in mind if I'm ever looking to dive into a paranormal romance story filled with some sexy cowboys werewolves.

Maeve is the sister of the Alpha of Grey wolf Pack and finds out that the vampires made a serum with her blood to give to shifters, so they can drink their blood. Rogue is a pack less wolf shifter and he abducts Maeve to protect her. Rogue knows Maeve but she doesn’t know him except as the criminal and toughest rogue out there. He makes a deal with her, if she will help him, he can get a antidote for the serum, and all she needs to do is talk to her brother about letting it be given to the rogues too. When she finds out what he plans to do, can she forgive him for betraying her? Shifters, vampires, a teacup pig, and plenty of action. A man who thinks he doesn’t deserve the woman and a woman who wants her freedom from pack life. * Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *

Lots of bookfeels in this latest installment of the Seven Range Shifters series, as Rogue (Jared Black) Maeve Gray are once again reunited, in order to save shifters from evil vampires their lethal serum, created with Maeves blood that threatens the lives of all shifters.

Frustration at Rogue/Jared for keeping his secret from Maeve, and with Maeve for not recognising who Rogue actually is. She's a wolf shifter, surely his scent would have triggered more recognition for her, considering they were so close for so many years growing up.

Sadness at the way Rogue/Jared saw himself as a villain only, when he does so much for other rogue wolf shifters that need help protection, even putting his own life at risk.

Anger at the way rogue shifters are treated used by packs for what Maeve went through when she was so young (I'm still grinding my teeth in anger over that reveal.)

Heartache for Rogue/Jared Maeve, as their history is revealed, that so many years were stolen from them and the continued pain they both went through afterwards.

Hope that these two will realise finally admit their true feelings for each other and that everything will work out, without more heartbreak.

Happiness when Maeve finally stands up to her brother Maverick the misogynistic pack rules, delivers hometruths grabs at the future now possible for her, thanks to Rogue/Jared.

A very dramatic story, with characters you can't help but become attached to, secrets revealed personal realisations made. I really enjoyed this book, it gets a 5 star rating from me.

This is a fantastic series!! I was so happy to see a new book had come out in this wonderful world.

My heart broke for Jared Black aka the Rouge. This man who thinks he's this awful man is actually the best kind of man. He is protective and willing to stand up for those that can't. He might go about things in a questionable way, but its usually for a good cause. He won't allow woman and children to be hurt on his watch.

I liked the character of Maeve Gray though there were times she got on my nerves. An entire race is depending on her staying hidden until a solution is found but yet her stubborn streak won't let her stand down. She causes more problems than helps in some situations. Her heart was in the right place, but sometimes she didn't listen to reason.

I loved the Rouge and Maeve together. I loved their past, present and future. The lengths they are willing to go for each other was wonderful to read. Their sparing was hot and they just fit.

Maeve and the Rogue go on an adventure to try to save their species against the vampires. During this adventure can the Rogue keep Maeve from finding out who he really is. Is a love that has existed over 20 years destined to be or to die?

Throughout this whole book I just wanted him to tell her. I was shaking my head at so many different scenes where he should have told her who he really was but didn’t. Ugh that part was so frustrating to read through because they could have worked together as a team for once but Rogue was so stubborn he kept quiet. I'm a bit surprised Mae didn’t figure it out, from her drawing him, his reference to their past, his friend making the comment about Rouge doing everything because he has always loved her, I thought for sure she would have put the pieces together and confronted him, but she doesn’t and that is kinda sad. Parts of the book were a bit bland but once you got past them and back to Rogue and Mae and the dynamics between them it was a really interesting storyline.

I would give this 3.5 stars. Overall, I liked the characters of Mae and Jared, but didn't like the part about her blood being used to help vampires in a wicked way. A little creepy. I did like the romance, and overall the story of them on the run and learning to know each other again. Kept my interest throughout, and would recommend.

Maeve Grey is the sister of the Grey Wolf Pack. She yearns for freedom outside of pack duties and for her childhood friend Jared.

Jared has become The Rogue, the feared and respected outlaw pack leader. He was forced out of the Grey Wold Pack twenty years ago and Maeve doesn’t even know he is alive.

The Rogue kidnaps Maeve to help thwart a vampire menace. As they work together against the threat will she learn he is her young friend from childhood? Will they be able to love again?

An exciting plot with passionate scenes. The mane characters as well as secondary characters were well drawn. Although this is part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone. I would recommend this book to my patrons.
