Due to a personal difference in beliefs (WITH THE PUBLISHER) I will not be reviewing this book outside of Netgalley nor do I plan to support Thomas Nelson in the future due to their decisions of late and the lack of fiction with good Biblical values.

This does not mean I do or do not like the book, it just means I will not be reviewing books for this publisher anymore as I do not care to support them when I do not agree with the way they have left their former standards.

Great start to this new series by Denise Hunter. Ms. Hunter has written another heartwarming novel that pulls the reader in from the very beginning. Her setting and characters will leave you wanting to know what is going to happen in their lives of the characters at the lake in NC.
I received a copy from the publisher through Netgalley

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. When Molly's parents pass in an accident, she and the rest of her siblings head home to try and run the inn that was their parent's dream. Great read and characters, look forward to more books in the series.

I liked this concept and the beta-type hero! The setting of the Inn, as with all of Denise Hunter's novels, was a vibrant and important part of the story, especially concerning the letter they find. I enjoyed that aspect, especially, as it brings a bit of history and another thread of a romantic relationship into the story.

Thank you to the publisher for the review copy. This is my honest review.

Shoutout to this book for being absolutely precious! There is a nerdy hero, over-the-top outgoing heroine, a long-lost love letter, family secrets, loss, heartbreak, healing, and loads of fun.

So yeah, looking for the perfect summer read (or a read to remind you of summer when you're freezing your toes off)? This one. Right here.

It was so sweet and the backstory of Molly's family and the inn--fulfilling their family's legacy had me so hooked. I can't think of a single thing I didn't enjoy.

I read this book last in the series, and honestly I expected that I knew most of what would happen reading the other two books first, but I couldn't have been more wrong!! What an unexpectedly wonderful book! It was like reading two stories in one! Beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time with a saddest happy ending I have ever read! I loved this book! If you only read one book from this series, read this one!!

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. These opinions are my own.

This is the first book in the A Bluebell Inn Romance series. I can’t wait to read the next one. The story line is awesome and I loved it. The characters are perfect for the story. Three siblings trying to hold their lives together, an author trying to keep his privacy and an old love story that will draw you in and you’ll want to know the ending. I think you will love getting to know Levi, Grace, Molly, Adam and all the other wonderful folks in Bluebell. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own. I also purchased this book.

This was a good book by Denise Hunter. Not my favorite because the plot was much slower in the beginning. But the ending made up for it. I loved the ending and I also loved how she dealt with some serious issues throughout the book.

I have to congratulate the author for this skillfully weaved and enjoyable story that points to a Christian truth.

And I totally did not expect that twist at the end. Well written though I found some passages a bit too long.

This is my honest opinion based on the review copy I received from the publisher.

What I liked: The setting. There's just something about a romance set in a charming historic inn. The hero. He didn't quite fit the mold for typical romance hero.

What I didn’t like: The trope of a lie/deception keeping character's apart (this is a personal bias or pet peeve), but reasons for said deception were sympathetic.

Readers should be aware: There is a historical thread to the story--not a 50/50 split, but at certain points in the story the focus shifts from the modern characters to an historical romance.

Issues included (touched on): illegitimate child, sex before marriage (identified as a sin), adoption, lying

Themes:acceptance, forgiveness

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are freely given. of my own volition.

Molly has suffered great tragedy and together with her siblings, is completing the dream b&b tbat her parents had started. Adam is their first guest and unbeknownst to Molly, is her favorite author that she is in love with. A lost letter discovered in the wall leads Molly and Adam on a journey to discover the mystery of two lovers in the past.
I enjoyed reading the emotional journey of Molly and Adam along with the other members of the story. Finding a lost letter and the journey it takes them on was impactful. This was a delightful read.
I prefer a more fluid dual timeline but I think that Denise was writing the past as more of a once in awhile throwback not a complete dual timeline. It chopped it up a bit but was still delightful storytelling. The story from the found letter would make a nice novella.

I received an ARC via Netgalley but I freely gove my honest review.

Denise Hunter is becoming one of my favorite authors. I read this series of books in reverse order for some reason but I still loved it! Molly, her sister & brother are trying to make a go of running a historic inn that their parents had begun renovating. During the renovation, their parents are killed in an accident and it is up to the kids whether they should try to make a go of the inn or sell it. The youngest sister is in high school at the time so they decide together to try to continue making the necessary renovations and begin to try to make a profit when they open the inn. During this time, Adam Bradford, who is an author needs a place to stay in the city that he is making the backdrop of his latest book. Molly rents out a room to him and the two strike up a friendship. During the renovation, a letter is found in the wall of the inn & Molly & Adam embark on finding the subjects of the letter I love this series and all of the characters in it! Very endearing story line!

I appreciate the publisher, Thomas Nelson and NetGalley giving me the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of this book.

Lake Season by Denise Hunter 5 stars
Bluebell Inn 1

This is my first Denise Hunter book and oh my I didn’t expect to love it. Now I have her printable book list! Small towns seem to be my thing these days. I enjoy reading about getting the inn ready. I would love to see the lake too! I love that Levi, Molly and Grace have a great relationship as siblings. Molly is a bubbly bookworm. Then there’s Adam, an author. Molly’s favorite author though she doesn’t know it yet. I also love the mystery that Molly found. I was there with them as they unraveled it microfilm per microfilm. The conversations are great too. They are flawed people. Along the way they had to learn how to let go and love.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Being alone, after the deaths of both parents, Molly Bennett, her brother and sister decided to fulfill their parents dreams opening a bed and breakfast. When Adam Bradford drops in unexpected and desperate for a place to stay, Molly agrees to let him stay in one of their finished rooms. But she never expected what would happen.

This is such a wonderful read! Life was not easy for the three siblings, but their determination paid off. Author Dennis Hunter does a wonderful job creating her characters for this book, and they develop so well as the plot moves forward. Reading the story was such a smooth and calming feeling. Even though there are several twists that have readers wanting to know what happens, this story has a wonderful ending. I’m trying to write this review and not give away anything to ruin it for you. You need to read the story for yourself. This is just a wonderful story that deals with issues that have happened to people in real life. And I like the way Ms. Hunter deals with the issues. And to use Scripture throughout the book is an added blessing. Lake Season is an awesome book that can be read anytime! I sure hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
