This is a heartwarming story of two wounded people who find each other, but must also find the courage to move forward and embrace the feelings they have. It’s a story of hidden identity, healing, faith, and acceptance. Together Molly and Adam work to solve a mystery of unresolved love, giving the reader a “story within a story”. With excellent characters and a strong story, I found this book hard to put down. I look forward to a return to Bluebell!

Thank you NetGalley, Thomas Nelson and Denise Hunter for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
I spent the weekend at the Indiana Dunes National Park and this was the book I decided to read on the beach. I instantly realized this was less vacation vibes and more Gilmore Girls. That is not a complaint!
This is a sweet story following Molly and her siblings as they work to open their parent’s dream Inn. Author Adam (AKA Nathaniel Grey) comes to their small town looking for inspiration and quiet to finish his next book. What he never expected to find was Molly.
This is a sweet, Hallmark style romance that leaves the reader with a cheesy, feel-good smile and a craving to stay in a lakeside Inn. There is romance, family dynamics and a mystery letter than keeps you engaged until the very end.

Inspirational Story
Lake Season, by Denise Hunter, is the first book in A Bluebell Inn Romance series. The story focuses on three siblings that lose their parents. To allow the youngest child, Grace, to finish school with her friends, Levi leaves his job and Molly turns down her dream internship. The siblings work together to turn their family home into the bed and breakfast her parents planned.
Their first guest, Adam, is researching for his new book. During the remodel, an unmailed letter is found and Molly asks Adam to help her research and find the person who attempted to mail it and the person is was intended to go to.
This is a great story. It is a wonderful, inspirational dual story that takes place in modern day as well as the 1960's. The story is so well written it is easy to envision the transformation the home goes through and the surroundings. The story points out how the family works together for the sake of the family. The story also shows the changes Adam goes through when he discloses his secret. I really enjoyed the character of Grace. I enjoyed how she teased her sister about having a crush on an author. I also enjoyed the mystery surrounding the unmailed letter as well. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I liked this story, the setting is charming and the idea of renovating an old in is exciting. I love that a long lost letter is found and the characters want to work together to bring it to the intended. As they work together, they discover things about the past, broken relationships, forgiveness, and how it all relates to themselves and the here & now.

I love the way Molly and Adam were drawn to each other from their first meeting. And yet there was so much more to it. Secrets and issues with self-worth made it hard for Adam to be open about who he was. Molly had her own issues related to losing her parents and it was holding her back from really embracing life.

I enjoyed the dual timeline aspects of this story. There were flashbacks every once in a while so the reader could see what had happened in the past. At the same time, the reader got to see Adam and Molly slowly discover the truths behind the relationship of the couple from the past and how it could relate to them in their relationship in the here & now.

Great novel by Denise Hunter. I picked it up because I was intrigued by the cover, with its summery, wistful feel. The plot description instantly hooked me: on the one hand we have three siblings decide to fix-up their inn after their parents' deaths and on the other, we have a reclusive author that comes to town searching for inspiration for his next book.

From a writing standpoint, this book was well-written with developed characters, great dialogue, and great description of setting. The protagonists Molly and Adam had strong voices and both were likeable yet quirky. With regards to plot, I found that all the threads of subplots were woven really well. There was never a dull moment from the beginning and the tension only ramped up as the book raced to the end. The themes within this book were very well-delivered and I loved seeing how both Molly and Adam developed and grew from getting to know each other.

Once again, great novel. I look forward to reading more books from Denise Hunter! Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson for the eARC.

I am here to announce my new favorite book. Lake Season by Denise Hunter. blew me out of the water so much so that I stayed awake into the night to finish it. Now, I'm not one to have a "book boyfriend" but I found myself falling for Adam Bradford,

Molly, Grace, and Levi are turning their historic home into an inn to fulfill their parents' dream after their unfortunate passing. When Molly finds an old letter from a star-crossed lover, she can't help but get involved. She needs to find the recipient but unfortunately he has no clue where to start.

Adam Bradford is a reclusive author and has a bad case of writer's block. At his mother's suggestions, he travels to North Carolina for both relaxation and inspiration. He never thought he'd meet spunky Molly, the inn keeper, who needs help tracking down a recipient to an old letter.

Together, Molly and Adam go on a search to uncover lost secrets from the past and may uncover a few secrets of their own along the way. Like how Molly fancies herself in love with Adam's alter ego, romance novelist Nathaniel Quinn, not knowing he's the guy.

Please do yourself a favor and pick this book up. You won't regret it. Trust me.

This book is appropriate for ages 13+ for some thematic elements

I liked this one more than the second book, Carolina Breeze. I thought the romance between the main characters was really sweet. The twist surprise at the end was heartwarming. I do recommend this one.

This cover is gorgeous and immediately caught my attention for the calming, summery feeling it lends. As soon as I saw the author, I knew it was a book I needed to read...I just had NO idea what was to be found within it's pages.

This is so much more than your run-of-the-mill contemporary romance. In fact, contemporary and history lovers alike could come together to enjoy this book. Rich with historical history and story from the 60s yet perfectly blended with the refreshing romances of our time, Lake Season is the perfect come-together novel.

Warning: Bring. Your. Tissues.

I'm not kidding when I say this book touched me in ways many stories don't. I think I can count on one hand the number of books and movies that made me shed real tears, and this one is in that number. I was up at midnight balling over the heartbreak that Molly and her siblings were experiencing over the loss of their parents and the amazing way they rallied together like family should. I loved how Denise doesn't cover up the hard stuff by making everything seem perfect. She gave her characters realistic feelings, hesitations, and coping mechanisms that really help the reader connect.

I was SO invested in that mystery letter and impressed at how well done the suspense was in the midst of all of the point of views and historical detail going on. Adam's character was so sweet as he worked with Molly to solve the mystery and the ending was so satisfying. The backdrop of a historical inn, formally a post office, was the perfect backdrop for it all!

My favorite things about books, the things that keep me reading over and over again, are attention to detail. Lake Season was wonderful about that, especially in the historical flashbacks. Little things such as the song that was playing or the hairstyle featured in a section really brought the story to life.

I am in love with this new series already and cannot wait to dive into Denise's next story!

After their parents die in a tragic accident, siblings Molly, Grace, and Levi Bennett pull together to open the family inn that their parents dreamed of. During the renovation process, Molly finds a letter that was written in 1962 and never sent; she decides to solve a decades old mystery and contact the letter's recipient. She is helped by a guest at the inn (and her crush). Adam Bradford is a reclusive writer working under a pseudonym. He is immediately drawn to Molly, but he has secrets of his own.

I wanted to read Lake Season because I love Denise Hunter's books. They are perfect beach reads populated by characters who are so likable and realistic.

Lake Season is a wonderful start for this new book series! I really liked Molly, who is the focus of this story - and the little glimpses of her siblings too. Molly and Adam are an intriguing romantic pair -- starting as friends, shyly getting to know each other, and working to solve the 1960's mystery.

And the 1962 mystery! I loved the dual storyline about Lizzie (Elizabeth) Van Buren and her star-crossed love for Ben Schwartz. The 1960's setting is charmingly evoked, and it adds so much to the story. I enjoyed the way readers get to learn more about the mysterious letter as Molly and Adam did.

I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed Lake Season! I loved the characters (present day and 1960's), the romantic stories in both timelines, and the quaint North Carolina setting. It definitely made me want to read the rest of the series. Highly recommended for fans of women's fiction, small town romance, and dual storyline novels.

I haven't read many books by this author but based on this book, I am going to add her to my list of favorites. This was a nice, light fun romance with several additional plots going on. It was a quick read with interesting characters and a happily ever after ending. Basically this book has everything - a little romance, some mystery, a supportive family and a beautiful setting in North Carolina.

The Bennett parents were renovating an inn in their hometown of Bluebell, NC, when they were killed in a car accident. Their three children -Levi, 26 years old; Molly, 23 years old; and Grace, 18 years old decide to finish the renovation and open the inn to fulfill their parents' dream. Lake Season is the first book in a new series and it is Molly's story. Molly quit her last year in college to help renovate the inn with her brother and sister. She loves reading and there are lots of references to authors - both classical and current - but she has a crush on a never-met romance writer who writes under a pseudonym and she reads his books over and over. Adam shows up at the inn before the renovations are done and asks if there is a room available because his booking at a lake house had been cancelled and he wants to spend some time in town doing some research. Adam is a very solitary person who has a really poor self image but he decides quickly that Molly will be his 'muse' on his current project. When a letter is found from the 1960s during the renovation, he agrees to help Molly find out more about the person who wrote the love letter. The more time Adam and Molly spend together, the closer they become but they both have significant baggage from their past that is keeping their possible romance at a stand-still. Will they be able to get beyond their past hurts and disappointments and find their happily ever after?

I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to future books in this series. I'm ready to go back to Bluebell Inn and spend more time getting to know the Bennett family.

Thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.

This was such a sweet and refreshing read. It tells the story of three siblings, who after losing their parents in an accident, decides to put their own careers on hold and continue their parents dream of opening up an Inn, The Bluebell Inn.

Needing a new, quiet place in the hopes of curing his "writers block", Adam visits the Inn. This is where he meets Molly who is a huge fan of Adam's alias. They both have such innocent and charming characters which makes their friendship so adorable.

Wrapped in mystery, I found myself waiting eagerly for the story to unfold. It was beautifully written. I especially liked the reference to Mere Christianity, a book I read not too long ago, as well as references to other books and authors I have heard of.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, Thomas Nelson, through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Oh my gosh. What can you say about Denise Hunter's books that has not already been said? She is a fantastic romance novelist with heartwarming stories that give you hope that there is a better tomorrow. She is a "sure bet" author when patrons come looking for a romance author. Her back list of titles ensure that patrons can remain happy until the next title is released...of course, not soon enough. :)

The first in a series about a set of siblings who have come home after they tragically lost their parents in a car accident. Molly and Levi return home to their younger sister Grace who has two years left of high school and are able to finish the renovations to the inn that their parents were doing and provide Grace a place to finish school.

This first story centers specifically around Molly. She is a lover of romance stories and is a big fan of the bestselling author Nathaniel Grey who is an author who has always hidden his identity. Unbeknownst to Molly, he arrives in this small North Carolina town to regroup and outline his next novel. He is in need of some inspiration and Molly and her family inn is the perfect place.

This was a great first story in a series as it set the place and location to the story and introduced the reader to the entire family while also telling a complete story about one of them. I loved Molly. She was such a great character to set the stage. She is the middle sibling and felt as though she was the glue that held the family together. I enjoyed the story arc between her and Adam Bradford. I love mistaken identity and secrets and watching as all of them come out and seeing how the character will react to the truth.

Denise Hunter does a great job of combining the romance genre and giving a great plot while keeping it true to the Christian fiction roots and leaving out the steamy scenes, but still having a great love story.

I have never met a Denise Hunter book that I didn't absolutely fall in love with and Lake Season is no exception to that rule. This book is the first in her newest series titled the Bluebell Inn Romance. An added bonus for me is the story takes place in North Carolina, the state I call home.

After losing their parents in a car accident, three siblings continue their parents dream of turning their home into an inn. This book centers around the middle daughter of the family, Molly. The inn is about to open and now enters their first guest, Adam Bradford. Unknown to Molly, Adam is really her favorite author who writes under the pen name Nathaniel Gray and has come to Bluebell looking for inspiration for his next novel. During the time Adam is staying at the inn, Molly finds a mysterious love letter in the wall of the inn because the building used to be the town post office. Molly and Adam set off on a mission of tracking down the author and recipient of that letter while getting closer to each other in the process.

I can't say too much more for fear of giving away too much information, but this is a must read for lovers of a fun contemporary romance. Somehow I just loved that Molly is an avid reader who is falling in love with an author that she doesn't know is an author. That as well as many other surprises are in store for readers of this novel.

Carolina Breeze, the second in the series, is due for release in May of 2020. The next installment centers around Levi, the oldest sibling. Can't wait to read that one!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Net Galley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

This was a great story to begin Denise Hunter‘s new Series. The characters were well defined and very likable. The story deals with sudden loss of loved ones, betrayal of former beau, secret identities, and feeling of unworthiness. All through love, forgiveness and faith. The element of finding a long list love letter was a great part of the story. Working together to solve the mystery, helps everyone come to an understanding of their own insecurities. So many life lessons to be learned. I love reading the uplifting books Denise Hunter writes and this one is a good one!! I received a copy from the publisher through net galley for an honest review.
