An interesting read, especially for someone interested in holistic living and alternative ways of feeling good beyond western medicine. I loved it and took away plenty of ideas to try.

This was an interesting book, as I personally have been prescribed antibiotics frequently throughout my life and have wondered if there are better options for minor things, such as ear infections. The author explains the body's ability to heal itself and the impact spirituality can have.

I really struggled to get into this book. While I enjoyed some of the quotations, having clumps of them interspersed with the author’s text felt incoherent to me. I’m sure that was exacerbated by the lack of formatting in the uncorrected proof I read, so it might be less of a problem in the published version. Also, while the book is described as a “scientific and spiritual journey,” I think it’s heavy on the spirituality and the science seemed questionable. If you’re a fan of the New Age movement, you’ll probably appreciate this book.

I appreciated the message of personal empowerment to heal, and I found some of the stories and quotations inspiring. I liked the section of Takeaways at the end of each chapter and the Daily Reminders for Your healing Journey in the back matter. This book just didn’t have enough depth for my taste—if you’re ok taking things on faith, relying on anecdotes rather than data, then this may work better for you than it did for me.

Those who already have some familiarity with mind-body medicine and leading a holistic lifestyle are unlikely to learn much from this book, but may appreciate this as a dose of inspiration and motivation. I would recommend reviewing the sample to see how you feel about the writing style.

I was provided an ARC through NetGalley that I volunteered to review.

Heal is based on the documentary that was on Netflix. This is a uplifting book to read. Easy to understand and informative.

The documentary was wonderful and this is a great companion novel to it. Heal expanded on the documentary and stories of how we can heal our bodies.

This is an excellent overview of some of the knowledge we either forgot or are newly discovering about how we (can and/or do) heal from some fairly well-known and less known experts on the topic. There's still a lot we don't know but this book has some great tips and wonderful perspectives. You're guaranteed to learn something if not a lot of highly interesting stuff! Highly recommended.

I really appreciate the advanced copy for review!!

This would be a great book for someone who is just beginning the holistic healing journey. Unfortunately, this book was too beginner for me, and I didn't feel like I learned anything new.

With that being said, if someone is looking for a book that will ease them into the language, theories and ideas behind holistic living, self-healing and the integration of traditional and Western medicine, then this would be a great first read!

It explores how the mind can be used to heal the body and the power we humans possess to heal ourselves. It is filled with quotes and contributions from well known and respected authors in this field and case studies of patients who have recovered against the odds. It is an empowering and uplifting book that should be read by everyone whether they are in need of healing or not.

This is a beautiful connection about the connection between the body and the mind. It is easy to understand and it shows you how to connect with your divine nature and listen to what your body is telling you. It is wonderful.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy free of charge. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of it.

'Heal' is based on the Netflix documentary of the same name. It explores the luminous field of the mind-body connection. If you don’t know what this connection is all about then this book is a good place to start. I have read a lot of books about the metaphysics of disease but I thought this book broke it down in such a way that it was rooted and grounded in science more than new age hogwash. Heal is mostly comprised of quotes from some great experts in the field discussing health, the subconscious mind, the placebo effect and power of perception, diet and nutrition, and emotional congruency.

I believe the biggest takeaway from this book is that belief in yourself is the ultimate form of divine intelligence because the body is ultimately working together with your highest purpose to help you awaken to your true essence. This book will help shine a light on the conditioning and fears that have poisoned your mind and body. It’s not a book filled with scare tactics but an empowering and inspirational story about self-awareness. It will teach you how to get to know yourself so you will be able to respond to the messages your health is communicating to you in an effective way.

No matter where you are on your journey, 'Heal' is a must-read book for it motivates, inspires, and uplifts you to start having presence in your own life, and to start loving yourself unconditionally to the point that healing is no longer a fearful process, but an inherent awakening to the power of who you are.
