Stop at Nothing is an appropriate title for this novel as it is action packed from the front cover to the last page! These characters are on the ride of their lives trying to save themselves from one thing or another.

Why I rated it 5 stars: I loved how we the reader are immediately thrown into the action right from the beginning. The novel jumps between a few different characters POV to continuously move from one action scene to the next.

Of course like many action movies or books, you have to put a little imagination into believing the stuff in the novel could actually happen, but it is fun to escape into this novel for a little while.

You might like this novel if you enjoy action films or books like Jason Bourne. You might also enjoy this book if you like good characters that make bad choices and have to right some wrongs.

Overall wonderful novel and I will definitely be looking into others by Michael Ledwidge.

Michael Ledwidge wrote books with James Patterson. Now he is a successful writer on his own. He continues to write in the established style, action adventures, that were so popular when he was a co-writer.
In this novel, Mike Gannon thinks he has lucked onto some "free money" until he finds it always has strings attached. He fights with a ruthless group of drug dealers who want to recover their money and be rid of Gannon.
Its a fast paced action filled books that is waiting to be a movie. It is a perfect read for a warm summer day at the beach. Recommended for those that like action hero type genre.

He wonders if he can keep what he finds but there are also six dead men on the plane and others who knew about the plane. Gannon will need all his skills to stay alive and in front. Michael Ledwidge is known as James Patterson’s co-writer for his Michael Bennett series and shows off his talent in his own series. This book is a thriller from beginning to end. Gannon against a government who is trying to cover up a plane crash and the 6 men who died. Gannon, a former Navy Seal, does not stop for anything until he unravels the corrupt plot the FBI tried to establish. Great characters, well written!

Mike Gannon is enjoying an evening of deep sea fishing off an island in the Bahamas when he is witness to a jet plane crashing into the ocean and splitting apart. An accomplished diver, he immediately gets his gear on to see if he can find any survivors. He finds 6 bodies, who all looked to have died prior to the crash. He also finds a case containing millions of dollars and a sack of diamonds worth several times more than that. With no one around and his radio broken, preventing him from reporting the crash, Mike hides his find and returns home.

The news reports the crash of a small prop plane belonging to an older couple. Something is definitely off here! Then a navy investigator is turned away from the scene. And people go missing. Someone is after what Gannon found, and they are willing to kill to get it back. However, Gannon is not just any diving instructor/fisherman. His prior work gives him deadly skills of his own, and he is determined to find out the real story behind the crash and bring it to light. GAME ON!!!

This is a fast-paced adventurous read with plenty of international intrigue. Ledwidge knows how to produce suspense thrillers that keep pages flying. A highly recommended read.

I am a sucker for a James Patterson book (or James Patterson and co-author), so I was eager to read "Stop at Nothing", a book written by a frequent James Patterson contributor. As an avid diver, with a boyfriend who's a pilot, a book centered around a sunken plane in the ocean, discovered by a dive instructor, greatly appealed to me.

First, some criticisms:
I don't know any divers who refer to their fins as "flippers", so when dive instructor Gannon refers to his "flippers" multiple times, I cringed and almost closed this book for good.

Also, I can't tell how deep Gannon dove, but at some point it seemed like he dove deeper than 100 feet. A discussion of NDL time would have been appropriate. And sure, I know it's not necessary for the mystery, but it's relevant to Gannon's profession.

Just for me personally, and likely not for others, the different governmental entities confused the hell out of me. The beginning of the book was a struggle for this reason.

Back to what worked:
I love all the characters, especially Gannon and Ruby.

I need this book to be made into a movie with Tom Cruise playing Gannon. It just has to happen.

I love that we don't know Gannon's backstory until well into the book. I latched onto this new information, gained a second wind during an action- packed read, and turned those pages!

I like how Ruby finally gets into her own groove after being carried around by others for most of the book. But did she have to trash the name "Jessica"? It's a great name, RUBY... need I remind you your name is RUBY.

The villains... there were way too many. It did get confusing. But the overarching conspiracy was fantastic.

This book was filled with action and intrigue and I hope to see it on the big screen one day.

From the first page this book grabbed my attention and held on to it until the very end. It is full of chills, thrills, and up and down hills (whatever the he'll that means).

Michael Gannon has retired to the Bahamas. One day he's deep sea fishing by himself thirty miles from land when a small jet crashes into the ocean in front of him. He dives down to the wreckage to see if there are any survivors and discovers a fortune in cash and uncut diamonds instead.

Gannon assumes this was a drug deal gone bad and he's anonymously acquired a fortune but soon finds out the story behind the crash is much more complex than that.

I loved the characters in this book - good and bad - and I was glad to see this is the first book in a series about Gannon.

The story is pretty unbelievable (or maybe I'm naive and it's more believable than I want it to be). But, as I've written before, this is fiction and it doesn't have to be true to be very readable.

I received this book from Hanover Square Press through Net Galley in the hopes that I would read it and leave an unbiased review.

I don't know why Michael Gannon thought no one would come looking for the small plane or the small fortune in diamonds and cash he took from it- especially since there were six dead men on board. Well, that's how one makes a thriller- and this one is a fast paced at times over the top ride. Turns out the men on the plane- despite having been FBI- were not the good guys and the people looking for the money, well, they aren't the good guys either. This moves around the world with Gannon trying to evade and then ambush the men who are after him. It's pretty plot driven and while you might like some of the characters, don't get too attached because Gannon is the star. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC. A perfect book for travel (despite the plane crash that sets things off!)

This is the first time that I have read Michael Ledwidge writing solo. I have read everything he has written with James Patterson.

Gannon has retired and wants nothing more than to relax and enjoy the sun. But before he retired he had a job that required a special set of skills, skills that he hoped to not ever have to use again. When he witnesses a plane crashing into the water he sets out to see if he can help but finds everyone dead and a scene that doesn't make sense.

This book is a good thriller and I will always read a book by this author.

Wonderful writer. Lots of action, good character development,andeverything fit togather beautifully.The only problem I had was that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

Michael Gannon is our on his boat fishing one day. Gannon catches a huge fish that ends up snapping his radio antenna off and leaving him empty handed. When Gannon gets ready to go back for the day, he sees a small plane that looks like it is in distress. When the plane crashes, Gannon goes over to the crash site and decides that since he has some of his dive gear on the boat, he is going to see if there are any survivors that need help.

When Gannon gets down to the plane, he sees that there are no survivors, but things seem strange. Could it be that these passengers died before the plane even crashed? While Gannon is down there he finds a bag of uncut diamonds and lots of cash. Gannon helps himself to the cash and diamonds. No one will know right?

That is where all of Gannon's problems begin. Someone was apparently expecting the diamonds and the cash and now they are out to find who took them. Do they have any idea what they up against with Gannon? Well, the adventure and suspense begins for sure! You will be on the edge of your seat flipping pages as fast you can to find out how this one ends. This was a great read by Michael Ledwidge!

I was given a free copy from NetGalley. This was a fast paced book written well with suspense. Good characters and a good storyline.

It appears this is the first book in a new series, and after reading this one, there's no question I'm up for more. The plot - and even the star character, former hot-shot veteran turned Bahamas dive boat captain Michael Gannon - are reminiscent of those from other authors, but this one is different, intriguing and action-packed enough to suit me just fine.

Gannon is out on his boat when he sees a Gulfstream jet crash; rushing as fast as his boat will take him, he dives to the wreckage to find six dead bodies plus a boatload of money and diamonds. Ethics be damned, Gannon sees an opportunity to swipe the loot, stashing it where no one else could possibly find it and looks forward to a rest-of-life not worrying about where his next meal will come from.

Meanwhile, U.S. Navy Lt. Ruby Everett of Naval Safety is with her sister, who's due to give birth any second. Looking forward to aunthood, Ruby is less than thrilled when she gets a call sending her to the Bahamas to check out the airplane incident. But when she gets there, she's told by high-up muckity-mucks to back off, even though the disaster falls clearly within her department's purview. As she mulls over the abrupt dismissal, an islander shows her a video he'd taken under water that clearly shows something isn't quite right. It gets worse when the official announcement of the crash is made public - with details that totally contradict what really happened as shown in that video. Whoa, Everett thinks, but there's not much she can do about it.

Gannon, meanwhile, also learns of the contradictions and starts to wonder how things really went down (so to speak). But on the other side, the bad guys - the ones who want to quash the real story because they're in the middle of preventing a huge international incident that would discredit them - realize the loot has been taken from the plane and will stop at nothing to find out who's got it and get it back.

From there, the chases get really complicated, but suffice it to say Gannon, Everett and several of their cohorts find themselves on a run for their lives as they try to find out what's really going on. The efforts also force Gannon out of retirement and put his not-so-rusty shoot 'em up skills to good use. All in all, well worth reading; I thank the publisher, via NetGalley, for allowing me to read a pre-publication copy.

STOP AT NOTHING by Michael Ledwidge is an action packed thriller. The story largely takes place in the Bahamas, New York City, and London. However, some of it takes place in numerous other locations. Michael Gannon is deep sea fishing when he sees a plane crash into the ocean. Unfortunately, his antennae was snapped when a marlin got away a little while earlier. He dives at the site and finds no survivors, but he does find cash and uncut diamonds. Who were the six dead men and what were they doing with the cash and diamonds?

The characters are compelling and you either root for them or against them. They had distinct voices and their own flaws and virtues. The plot like a scenario that could actually happen. The motivations were well-drawn and seemed believable. The secondary characters were well-rounded and enhanced the story. There were some plot twists and the stakes and tension were high throughout this thriller. The author did a great job of giving a clear sense of time and place without being overly descriptive.

Overall, the plot intense, thought-provoking, suspenseful, entertaining and kept me fully engaged. The prose was well-written and engrossing. My only quibble is that there could have been a little more wrap up of certain situations after the action peaked and before the epilogue. However, I still thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more of Michael Ledwidge’s novels.

Michael Ledwidge’s STOP AT NOTHING is fiendishly entertaining. It is with a sort of grim delight that he explores the dark criminal minds of the supposed “good guys” as he tries to stay one step ahead in a deadly game. Ledwidge’s pacing is unerring and he is a master at building suspense by imbuing the atmosphere with a tension that begins in the first chapter and never slows down.

Protagonist Michael Gannon is a diving instructor and the hero of this addictive, adrenaline fueled, twisty thriller. There are a lot of moving parts in this narrative not the least of which are an attractive and appealing Navy Lieutenant named Ruby Everett and Eric Wheldon, a journalist bent on exposing government corruption. Although the novel’s “villains” are not your typical brand of psychos and sleazy operators, they are definitely related to the ones currently appearing on the evening news and in your morning newspaper.

Gannon himself is a rule breaker and not above using maverick methods to achieve his goals. Currently he is trying to carve out a place for himself and his son in the world as he tries to outrun a past that won’t let him go. Having been literally thrown into circumstances beyond his control he is driven to discover the truth and his pursuit definitely comes at a cost.

I could go on about this book but then I might divulge some information that might ruin your enjoyment….so……I will just end here and let you experience the multiple perils confronted by Gannon and his cohorts as they take you through to the action filled climax.

Excellent book! The Bahamas, the ocean, the corruption and heart pounding action, what's not to like! Gannon is a kick ass main character. How can one fishing day start such a dramatic story? I thought this book was superb!

Michael Ledwidge has co-authored a number of books with James Patterson. While I gave up on James Patterson several years several of his "co-authors" are quite good in their own right. Michael Ledwidge is one of them. Stop At Nothing is a good example illustrating this point. Michael Gannon is an expat expert diver in the Bahamas. He hears a small plane fly by and crash in the ocean. So he dives to find out who is aboard. He finds six dead men and a cache of jewels and valuable. Suspecting they were up to no good, he retrieves the valuables and hides them as he waits for someone to come calling. Those searching for the downed plane soon come looking for Mike and after an initial encounter Mike decides to disappear for a while. The fast-paced action commences as the villains try to track him down. What those pursuing him do not know is that Mike had a previous career as a deep operative for the US government. Mike also is searching to find out who were on the plane. He discovers that a bunch of bad hombres from the FBI were escaping with ill-begotten gains so Michael decides to track out their partners in crime. He sets a trap and ensnares them.

Recommended for folks who like fast-paced good tales of adventure.

Yes, this is THAT Michael Ledwidge. He co-authors the Michael Bennett series of books, my favorite of all of the Patterson books, with James Patterson. But he is definitely an outstanding author in his own right. He brings a unique story with well developed characters into some dire situations and jump starts the tension with a bang! This story begins with a plane crash. Everyone on board is dead but there is a small fortune of "stuff" on the plane. Who does it belong to? Finders, Keepers? This book would make an excellent movie. It is very easy to start reading and when you look up, it's late and everyone else has gone to bed. Dive in and see how our hero (?) manages to keep his loot and his life.

I’ve enjoyed this authors books that he’s written with James Patterson so I was excited to give this one a try. Mr Ledwidge did not disappoint. Characters were not fleshed out that much.. but they were started. They could be fleshed out more in future novels. This is a fun read abs as an added bonus, no foul language to speak of. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.
