A very long and drawn out read. There were a few twists and surprises toward the end but I was simply not impressed.

What Happens…. picks up just about where Book One left off. Irene heads home to take care of business and sons Baker and Cash are in St. John dealing with the Ayers of it all. But, now the FBI comes calling…. Russ’ antics don’t seem to stop coming with the hits.
Awesome follow up! Book three, where are you?

Did not expect to like these books as much as I have! A friend of mine recommended the first book, and this one continues right as the first concludes (though could potentially be read as a stand-alone, I don’t so much recommend that). While the first book ended with a mysterious cliffhanger, I expected this book to be a little bit more of a mystery discovering the truth of Russ’ death. But that is really strung along throughout the book and barely even talked about. Nor does it focus in on romances, which I found as a relief. Yes they are shown but they aren’t the biggest focus. And I found that refreshing. This is very character driven, much like the first, and I really like all of the characters it follows. We do, though, find out a lot more about Rosie and Russ’ relationship as Ayer’s finds her journals and commits to read them all. I liked that especially because that is the portion of the first book that just feels like we may never known. This insight really opened up the storyline for me, however it left me liking both of them even less. The end of this book is as much as a cliffhanger as the first, so I will be moving to the next book as soon as possible.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I have read all of Elin Hilderbrand's books and while this was good, it was far too much shoved into too few pages. It felt rushed and underdeveloped.

Loved this story. It left me with many questions. I can't wait to see what happens next. Four stars. I love Elin's writing.

This book was so good! I loved the twists that took place in the story. It keeps the story fresh and light. Easy to read and enjoy.

This is book 2 of the Paradise trilogy, and as with many middle books, the storyline didn't grab me as much as the first book, but it still kept my attention. I'm not really sure that I love any of the characters.... I'm hoping book 3 makes me fall in love with them.

Elin Hilderbrand has done it again. This is a not-to-be-missed beach read. This is the second book in the Paradise Series. It takes place in two places The island of ST. John in the Caribbean and Iowa City, Iowa. Hilderbrand's writing is so authentic and visual you can hear the water lap on the shore and feel the balmy breeze of the island of St John. But do not be fooled the is a truly good story in here. About the dual life of Russel Steele one in Iowa City with his wife, Irenee, and their two sons. The other on Saint John's with Rosie and their daughter. It is a must read for romance e lovers and thrill seekers alike.

I'm really loving this author and her engaging style of writing. What Happens in Paradise was a decent continuation of the first book in the series, Winter in Paradise. The sequel isn't as action-packed, but an enjoyable read nonetheless. I had a major theory throughout both books, and if course I'll have to wait for book 3 to see if my theory is correct. Can't wait to keep reading this trilogy!

Thank you NetGalley and publishers for an ARC
All opinions are my own.

Another wonderful novel from Elin Hilderbrand. This is the second installment of the Paradise trilogy. I love reading Hilderbrand's characters and the setting of St. John's island. Each character is both interesting and likable and digging deeper into their storylines in this installment.

I recommend reading these books in order. They are incredibly enjoyable!

A very filler-y middle book in a trilogy. Nothing really happens except relationships develop. I like these characters so I'm good with the developments but not much else going on. Hopefully Trouble in Paradise takes us for a ride.

It has been 2 years since I read the first book in this series, so it took me awhile to remember the characters. I had totally forgotten that the characters live in Iowa, which I love. The plot was pretty interesting, and it leaves you on a cliffhanger. I think I liked the first book better, but I will definitely read the third book as well.

I loved this book. The characters are realistic and believable with much of their own drama and a little mystery and suspense!

While I was glad to read about the characters from the first book, I was a bit bored with the story and disappointed that more didn’t wrap up and we have to wait for a third book. I like a series but I felt like the author just wrote this one as a placeholder before the third and final book. All of this being said, I'm anxious to see how the story plays out in the last book.

I enjoy Elin’s trilogies. Once again this book hooked me in. The setting is perfect for summer reading in the pool. The Steele saga continues. You get to know the characters better with each book. She deftly unwinds each of them giving the reader just enough line to reel you in. Troubles InParadise is book 3 and I’ll be waiting to learn the outcome of the family and the people of St. John. #whathappensinparadise Thank you netgalley for the arc. My opinions are my own.

Confession. I don’t think I had ever read a book by Elin Hilderbrand before reading Winter in Paradise. I jumped in again with the second book in the series, What Happens in Paradise. Though my feelings about this book are a little mixed, I overall enjoyed it. This book continues the story of the Steele family: Irene, Cash, and Baker. Irene receives a phone call that her husband died in a helicopter crash .... near the island of St John. I was swept into a story of family secrets and a mysterious death, with a little budding romance on the side.. Check this book out if you’re wanting a break from winter and are looking for a complicated family story with a little mystery.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book!

This is one of my favorite Hilderbrand series! A nice diversion from the Nantucket books. I’m looking forward to the next one in the series!

This was an easy read with a fairly predictable cliff-hanger ending but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. A word of caution, though: the story continues where Winter in Paradise left off and there are very few backstories as to what happened in the previous book and who is who. If you can wait until the third book is published next year, binge by reading all three in one sitting.
